RAEGAN IS HERE!!!!! Born Thursday January 17th at 8:49a, 9 lbs, 21 inches!!!

Raegan's Birth Story -

My labor unfortunately was very long and difficult! 41 hours from start to finish! I started to have very painful contractions on Tuesday the 15th at 3p, coming anywhere from 4-12min apart. We went to the hospital at 1130p, when they were coming every 4min for an hour, and they sent me home because of course they let up to about 7min apart when we got there, they told me I needed to wait until they were 2-3 min apart.. I was soooooooooooo pissed! They sent me home with and ambien to help me sleep.. not very well.. lol. So I stayed at home all day Wednesday with the same progress, the contractions just never came to 2-3min apart. I was in soo much pain!! So I went back to the hospital at 3p and they took me!!! I had an epidural at 5p, and ohh my god are they FABULOUS!!!! I was smiling and joking. Everyone laughs because I am the same happy joking person whether in pain or not! I think that`s why they turned me away in the first place, I can`t help it, it`s just me! They ended up giving me pitocin because I wasn`t making very good progress on my own ( I can`t even imagine how long it would have been without it!!!). Around 5a on Thursday I was at 9cm and almost ready, the epidural was wearing off and I was in pain again, threw-up twice, it was awful, but they gave me some other medicine that really helped and then I was ready to push.. At first I was like I can do this all day long, but then it turned into 2 1/2 hours and of course the other medicine began to wear off and I could feel even more, I was sooo friggin exhausted!!! She finally popped out at 849a on Thursday the 17th! 41 hours of total labor! Whew! She has the biggest head ever, I swear! She is absolutely perfect in every way! She taught me how to breastfeed! She latched on like a champ! I am so in love with my little girl!!!

Hello! My name is Kristy and my husband Chris and I are expecting our first little turd (oops I mean baby girl.. :0) lol) on January 12th 2008. Her name will be Raegan Johnni. We are really excited and nervous all at the same time. We were not expecting to have kiddos for a long time so she is a complete shock... to say the least. But we're are ready now! Chris and I have been together for 9 years since we were 16 years old. I couldn't imagine my life without him. Raegan is going to have the best daddy in the world.. Daddy's little girl! I just can't wait to meet her and see what and who she looks like. My husband is of Japanese descent and I am a european Heinz 57... hmmm this will be interesting! To me she already is the most beautiful thing in the world!!

Chris's stepmom said at our wedding "this time next year you will have a baby on the way" .... We were like "yah right!" ... she was RIGHT!

11-20-07 - 32 weeks/4 days (but whose counting???)

I feel Raegan squirm ALL the time. I read that they sleep 95% of the time now... not this girl! I felt her kick my rib for the first time.. not cool. She is also pushing up against my lungs making it so hard to breath sometimes... ughh.. I hate to say it but I don't think I am one of those girls that "enjoys" pregnancy. But it will be over soon. YAY!!!! My husband last night said the funniest thing... My belly reminds him of a spiders butt full of eggs... Nice.. makes me feel Beautiful!!! Nah just kidding, I know he loves it. For some reason now that he can see when Raegan moves it freaks him out. Well I have my Dr's appt next Monday so we'll see how everythig is going!

11-27-07 - 33 weeks/4 days

So I went to Dr. and everything is great! My belly measured within the normal limits... I figured it was outta the ball park : )! I read others comments on here from women around the same due date as me and it freaks me out... some already have their hospital bags packed, i am not even close! I figure this girl is gonna be late anyway. I know this because I want her to come so bad she's just like that. We couldn't even find out that she was a girl until 28 weeks. Every ultrasound she would not share at all. but then finally there it was and there is no doubt it's girl parts.. lol. Stubborn baby! I am surprised that I am not sooo worried about everything.. I mean no pain, no leakage, nothing. I am hoping to work up until she comes, that way I can spend more time with her at home. I only get 6 weeks. But I am okay with that. My mom is going to watch her until we can afford daycare... or we can afford for me to stay home. OFF to 34 weeks... YAY!

12-4-07 - 34 weeks/4 days

Ughh it feels so far away until she is here but in reality it is right around the corner. Well so much for the no pain... I started to feel a couple of cramps here and there. Similar to menstrual cramps but not as bad. I know it is just the braxton hicks contractions preparing me for the REAL ones! I am really impatient latley, I just want to meet her already! I finally got a bag together for the hospital but I am not so stressed about it. My mom is right we live so close to the hospital they would be more than happy to go get something if it is needed... OOOO I picked out her going home outfit it is so friggin adorable.. I am so excited to see a baby in it instead of just looking at it.. LOL. However I am really worried about what size to bring because all the newborn clothes say up to 8lbs and up to 19 inches. Both me and my husband were well over 8lbs and well over 19in, I was 22in! So I have a back up in the 0-3months size. Okay well I will just keep counting the days...... :)

12-10-07 - 35 weeks/3 days

I went to my Dr's appointment today... got violated :0) .. and everything is as it should be! I keep having those cramps, maybe 1 to 2 times a day so I know it is nothing at the moment. I found out on friday how much the medical bills are going to add up to... and I'm freaking out a bit! I have now considered to try and go natural without all the drugs (if possible of course). Pain medication alone can cost between $750.00 to $1500.00!!! I have insurance but believe me it's not nearly good enough.. This country is built for the rich and the poor... middle class folks are screwed! I have insurance and I will still have to pay nearly $5000.00 for this pregnancy/birth.. the poor will have to pay barely anything or nothing at all.. the rich have insurance and even if it is not that great, they will still be able to afford the Dr's bills. It can be very frustrating..... Daycare.... don't even get me started.... $250.00 a week??? Are you F!%*ing kidding me???? $1000.00 a month... I am grateful and very blessed that my mom is willing to watch Raegan for a while.. until we can get on our feet. I know that for our age my husband and I make a very decent amount of money, but after mortgage, insurance, car and now these massive medical bills we have little left to our name. And again... most poor folks will get assistance, and the rich, they can either afford the daycare or they are lucky enough that their partner makes enough for them to stay at home. I could ony wish.. maybe some day :) ... But I am not bitter at all... can you tell??? Regardless I am soooo excited to meet our daughter and share the rest of our lives together. I just can't wait!!!

12-19-07 - 36 weeks/5 days

I am soo happy! Someone told me today that it looks like I am carrying a bit lower!!! WOO HOO.. I thought I had noticed the slightest change, but I wasn't sure. I had a few contractions this morning... again I know that they are nothing because they are not consistent. It just feels like a period cramp and hardening of the stomach, pain on a scale from 1-10 is about a 5. But it doesn't last long. I am wondering if I will be a little early. I wouldn't mind! I am so ready to meet her!!!!! I decided to take an additional 2 weeks of FMLA so I can have a total of 8 weeks. My last day of work will be January 4th!!!! I can't wait! I want to clean the house so bad but I just can't seem to get off my butt and do it. My husband trys to help but he has no idea how to clean like me. I'm a deep cleaner, he's a surface cleaner and it bugs the heck outta me. But I'll take what I can get. : ) I go to the Dr. on Friday and I'm not sure if they'll do another internal or what. A weeks ago at my last appt they said my cervix was about a fingertip (1/2 cm) open and her head was still "way" up there. We'll see!!!

12-26-07 - 37 weeks/5days

Oh my gosh!! Only 2 Weeks to go! So many emotions! So I went to Dr. last Friday and I am progressing.. 1 cm dialated and they head is a little further down. My belly also measured 1 cm smaller meaning that she definitely dropped! WOO HOO!!! I get so many weird feelings and pains now and I am always thinking it might be "time" but I try not to get over excited. So only 6 more "working" days left.. but whose counting :)... I just have to finish out this week and next week and then I can RELAX! Well... not really relax.. but not having to worry about work will be a huge weight off my shoulders! My job can be pretty stressful. If I could do a happy dance I would but I can barely move... Who knew being 9 months pregnant was so freaking hard!!??

1-4-08!! - 39 Weeks!!

Finallly outta work!!! I actually made my last day this last wednesday.. so I have been home for the past 2 days... it is soooooo boring, Playing the waiting game! Just cleaning and watching bringing home baby and a baby story on TLC... I cry everytime lol. Knowing that I will be a mom is inevitable within the next 2 weeks for sure is really starting to freak me out! I know that everything will be just fine and it will come naturally.. well lets hope :) I go to the Dr next tuesday.... I know that sometimes they will sweep the membranes this close and that can help go into labor! I was also thinking Tuesday is a full moon.. hmmm... and 1-8-08 would be a cool birthday.... lol.. Ahhh I can't wait!!!!!

1-12-08 - 40 Weeks - DUE DATE!!!

Well obviously still no baby Rae yet. She will be here soon, that's what keep me going. I try not to dwell on it because it can drive you crazy! I have no real signs that labor is going to start. However this is my first pregnancy and I know it is different for everyone. My mom's first sign of labor with her first (my only brother) was nausea,, It would come and go every 5 minutes or so, and sure enough they had her come in and it turned out she was in labor.. weird huh?? I just hope she comes on her own, I don't want to have to wait to be induced, but it is what it is. I am trying to just take easy these next few days. i have been running around like a mad women this last week trying to get EVERYTHING done. And it is! So I now feel ready! Hopefully next time I update this page will be with her birth story!!!
