January 13, 2007

I found out I was Pregnant on my birthday (dec 11) and I was so so excited! I thought I was having period cramps, which really bummed my out cause I thought for sure I was pregnant this time. So I got up at 5am to check on things and when there was no period I decided to take a test. It came back positive after a little while, so I woke up my husband, who didn't beleive me and went back to sleep. I went and woke up my Mom who was staying with us for a bit. She was super excited! When my hubby finally woke up and looked at the test I think he was still skeptical, since it was a faint line. So I took another one the next day and it was darker so he began to get excited. He is super supportive! It was the best birthday present ever!!

First trimester so far has been a bit of a drag. Lots of nausea and I am feeling so so tired. I am constantly reading up on things. I can't seem to learn enough about this baby. I am finding it very hard to focus on my job, which sucks, because it is my first year teaching this subject (French) and I really need to focus! But I am just to preoccupied with this baby that I have been wanting since I was old enough to walk!

Febuary 2nd, 2008

Well I am just about 12 weeks. The nausea seems to be improving, although I am scared to stop taking my pills. I am grumpy a lot and feeling lonely. I am starting to get a tummy, although it is not the hard, cute shapely one I have been waiting for! I am hating my job, and it is causing me a lot of stress these days. I can't wait till june. It seems so far away at the moment. Time is going very slowly. I have another midwife appointment on tuesday. Maybe she will be able to hear the heartbeat. That would be exciting. It is hard for me to imagine it is real at this point still. I can't wait for an ultrasound. Then it will feel real, and I will know what I am having. I will also have a better idea of my due date as well. Still hopeing to deliver on the 8th but I know that is unlikley!

My Madam Zavlaski (or something...) prediction.

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the afternoon.

After a labor lasting approximately 3 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have light brown eyes and dark hair.

hello and congrats!! as far as the throwing up, i've had 3 kids (no c-sections) and have never thrown up! the only friends that have thrown up during labor and delivery or right after have been the ones (not all but some) that had c-sections and they were told it was due to the anesthesia...not to mention as soon as you go into labor, they don't let you eat! so if you have a long labor with no food and then strong anesthesia, you are almost guaranteed to get sick! Good luck though and everything will be fine! Nothing will compare to the moment you hold your little one...you'll forget everything and anything that you are complaining about now - GUARANTEED!

hello! yes stress definitely causes me to have them too - even just thinking about my long list of to dos.. anyway, i saw my doc and everything is fine, no more leaking. so i just have to take it easy. i am going off in about 4 weeks, i cant wait. :)

MamaTash - Monday, 30 June
yeah i dont think its normal, but i think the stress is definitely not helping either of us.. i have a 3year old daugter and this pregnancy is much much different. i told the doctor weeks ago and he took blood and stuff, but kept saying yeah this is normal... i think not! and now that i have some fluid leakage, i think he finally understands. i am seeing him tomorrow and will let you know. hang in there.. is this your first?

mamatash - Sunday, 29 June
hi there - what you described about your braxton hicks is exactly what i have! have you spoken to your doctor about it? the past couple days i even get them as i am lying on my side. so i called the doctor, as i thought i may also be losing my mucous plug. he called me in and said to take it really easy. i am not dilated yet but there has been some fluid leakage. i am most likely going to stop working earlier than expected.

hey-- I bought bum genius 3.0. They are one-size-fits-all all-in-ones-- a bit on the pricier side (about $17.00 per diaper) but I have heard really good things about them. I ordered them on cottonbabies.com-- they come with a warranty. Hope this helps and congrats!

I haven't started student teaching yet, I won't be begin until September. I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't had any showers yet either. I'm having two, one July 19 and the other July 26, so I'm really excited about those. And yes, it would be nice for you to show her off at your shower after she arrives. Cool! I still don't have a good bit of stuff, so hopefully I'll finish getting what I need at the showers!

Aww... ur a teacher!! Awesome!! I'm an elementary ed major/ english minor! So I have to student teach this semester and I'll be done!! Hallelujah! This is so cool.... same name, same due date, and same occupation (kinda). And I totally know what you mean about preferring the little ones. That's exactly why I'm an Elementary Ed major. I can't too much deal with older kids.

Well, what's been going on with your pregnancy? Morning sickness or what? Have u had any showers yet?

purpleangel - Sunday, 15 June

I'm doing really good! How is everything going with you? I'm from South Carolina. I'm a senior at SC State University. Where are you from? And yes, this is my first little one and I'm super excited! It actually doesn't seem like I've been pregnant that long, it's actually gone by fast. Although my body is about like yours and about to fall apart, I'll make it a little while longer. Keep in touch!

awww so cute, look at the little lips! my hubby talked me out of the 3d ultrasound, but now I wish I had done it!

kirstensmommie8 - Thursday, 12 June
Hey!! How are you? I just found it very ironic that my name is Kristy, your name is Kristy and we're both due August 19. How cool is that? Well, hope to hear from ya soon!

km-dickson - Tuesday, 10 June
Oooh, I will definitely try that then! I'm only 22 weeks, but whatever we can do, I'm doing. Thank you for the reply!

Ok - so mine just came back allllll over my stomache and boobs on Friday - it was like 80 degrees here (Philly) on Friday, so my hubby thought it was a heat rash - but it just stopped itching yesterday!! It was soooo bad. But I think I know what it's from - Palmer's Coca Butter Tummy Butter!! I've put regular Palmers Coca Butter lotion on for months and when I went to get more the lady told me to get the "Belly Butter" bc it was better ... so I put it on for a week and then I got the other rash and stopped (it wasn't near this bad)... then it went away and I put the Belly Butter on Tuesday and Wednesday and I got this disaster, so I stopped on Thursday and the rash is going away now...
