The Beginning

We my husband and I had been married 6 weeks when we first "tried" getting pregnant. Little did we know we were so fertile :-) On November 29th we found out we were pregnant. First month trying. We felt so blessed to have the ability to get pregnant and have a child. My mom and dad were in the process of adoption when they got pregnant with me.

The Waiting

Since we found out so early I waited patiently every day for that morning sickness to come. By week 9 still felt nothing and started to realize I probably wasnt going to get it. YEAH I was most worried about my AFP test. I am not sure why but it was something that just concerned me. I was totally releived when it came back negative and the lowest I could have scored 1 in 10,000. I never knew it would be the ultrasound I had to worry about.

The Ventricles

It was an awful day, the day we had our scan. They wouldnt let my huisband in the room with me until after most of the ultrasound was done. The tech wasnt very nice and it started to worry me, all his different expressions. He finally said I could go out get my husband and try to get the baby to wake up so we could finish the scan. He said just come back in whenever. TAKE YOU TIME, he said. That was weird to hear. I knew we were in a medical facilty with time limits on appointments. As we waited for almost 30 minutes I looked at my husband and said somethings not right. When the tech finally came back the radiologist was with him. I looked at he doctor with fear and asked whats wrong. He brought us back into the room and said "SO FAR the is one MAJOR ABNORMALITY with his BRAIN." I started to cry and freak out. I wanted to know more. Will he live? Will he be impaired? Is he ok? Crying and begging for answers the jerk said to me, "You know what I really need to just oay attention to the rest of the scan. We still have to see his heart and finad all his legs, arms, hands and feet." I laid there for thirty minutes crying while they finished. Even after he was inaccurate in telling me what was going on. Since then the outcome has been much more positive. We see a geneticist about evry 4-6 weeks. Baby Parker has remained stable and everything else is perfect. We continue to pray daily he will be ok at delivery. With a 90% chance all will be perfect we hope for the best. I am 30 weeks pregnant when I am writing this. All we do now is wait.

The Last Ultrasound

We went in on June 11th for our last ultrasound!!!! Baby Parekrs ventricles shruck from 12 down to 8. The doctors believes it is just how he developed and all will be well. Everything else looks PERFECT!! I cant beleive what a miracle God has blessed us with by healing our baby boy!

Hi there, not much longer to go, hope you are doing well!!

Nov-mommy - Wednesday, 16 July
wow thats crazy, that's a lot of stressful things to be happing while you are pregnant. I hope everything works out for the best! Have you had your shower yet? i've been doing great lately the only complaint is weird leg cramps at night.

mariska - Tuesday, 15 July
Good to hear from you and good luck, hope you will be able to hold your little one soon!! I am just surprised that you now already...hope you will have a good delivery!! At the moment they are rebuilding our house....so I am escaping the mess at the moment. But because our two boys have summer holidays, I've got my handsful, which is very nice. They make me laugh with all their baby theories ;))

Nov-mommy - Friday, 11 July
i know im so thrilled! the clothes are so cute!

mariska - Wednesday, 9 July
Good to hear from you. Time flies doesn't it. Still nervous about the delivery ;)) We are doing really well. At 33 weeks we do not have to come back for check ups, the vents did not shrink but are stable at 12mm, of which the dr. said it is very mild and if it would mean anything, he would not what exactly. So we are enjoying the last few weeks. I am on leave as of next week (we get 6 to 4 weeks off in advance), so I am hoping for summer weather. Especially because an extra floor is put on our house....so no peace in the house LOL. Do you have everything ready?

mariska - Tuesday, 8 July
Hi there, how are you doing?

Nov-mommy - Tuesday, 8 July
hey how are you doing is everything going okay with the moving and hubby being sick?

mariska - Thursday, 19 June
We have got two (!!) good ones and the rest seem to contradict themselves. We have complained that we were seeing to many specialist, so they are trying to schedule us in at the same doctors, which is not always working. Anyways no hospital for another 3 weeks. I can now enjoy that they are rebuilding our house and we have only got one bedroom left for the four of us and my boy is sick (cold, therefore caughing all night) LOL that is a "good" distraction for now. By the way, like your picture. I'll see if I can find one to put up ;))Good luck with your son's butt :)

mariska - Wednesday, 18 June
Hi, thanks for your response! I know about your experience, that was NOT done, by reading it I was getting angry too. He said the same thing about the MRI (best result is after it is born) but at the same time he advised us to do it.....that is what makes my head spin. It is like some of the doctor just want to find something wrong, where parents are just looking for prongnoses. We'll do the scans and we will just sit it out, so we can see how our little wonder is doing ourselves. I won't be asking them for info, I'll just stick to the live stories on this forum ;)) How are your pains?

Nov-mommy - Wednesday, 18 June
Ive been having aches and pains lately too but they say its just all my insides stretching, Ahh let me tell you its painful. sleeping has also been a struggle since I've always slept on my tummy. i think being anxious about becoming a mom is normal because I've been worrying myself and i still have halfway to go. Its just a big change and you want to make sure your doing everything just right. I'm sure it will come to us when the baby's born. its just the unknown is always scary. by the way you are always in my prayers! keep me updated.

mariska - Tuesday, 17 June
hi, I did have that 4 weeks before Raphael was born. It lastest for a day and then it was gone. I thought it was quite painfull at the time and I could not really stand up straight. "engaging contractions" they called it (LOL as I am not familiar with the English term!!, so this probably sounds really weird to you ;)) It it gone by now?

lin - Monday, 16 June
thanks...I was a little dissapointed but hey it was only the first try!

mariska - Sunday, 15 June
Those birth stories are always great to tell, LOL. I felt so proud of myself at the time, I hope you will have the same experience. I have to go to hospital this time, as they want to examine the baby when it is born. So hopefully I'll be on time. The baby hasn't turned yet, so it might even be a C-section this time.... A few months ago someone had her baby in the car, they had to close down the motorway!!! We'll at least everyone knows the baby is born LOL.

mariska - Saturday, 14 June
That's really sweet! And I am happy that now you enjoy the "normal" pregancy worries LOL such as delivery. I hope you will have just one like my first one. I had my baby at home (I do not think this is very common in the states) and our midwife was almost too late, as it all went very quickly. In the afternoon I was already up and chating downstairs on a "normal" chair with visitors.

Nov-mommy - Saturday, 14 June
Thats amazing news I'm so happy to hear that. I was praying for you as well! So how are you feeling?

mariska - Friday, 13 June
PERFECT!!!! really good news and now finally you can enjoy the remaining weeks. And that's man for you LOL always wanting attention. Has your baby turned? Mine not yet.....Againg enjoy and I am soooooooooo happy for you. Do you need more u/s or was this the last one? Don't forget to keep us posted.

kyliecogger - Friday, 13 June
That is fantastic- I bet you are breathing a whole lot easier. I am so happy for you. Now lets pray that everyone else gets the same good news. Keep me posted and take care. a
