13 November 2008~So we are in week 30 and really getting excited. To all of the ladies on this site who have been with me through this pregnancy, thank you for your support and friendship. This site has really carried me through the tough times. We had our baby shower last weekend which really started making this seem real. I was so excited today to get a diaper bag in the mail! I am going to pack it tonight, never know when Cora might decide to grace us. Not much further to go!!!!

7 October 2008

I feel like I am stuck in a holding pattern with all this bedrest, but the road is getting shorter every day. After bing at the hospital for a couple of days, our baby should have stonger lungs from steroids and she is measuring a couple of days bigger than her time line which makes me happy, 1lb 14 oz. I am starting to feel more at ease and I know that no matter what, I will be taking a baby home with me at some point, I just pray it does not involve a stay in the NICU. Good luck to all of you and your tiny babies!!

29 August 2008

Well, I have not updated this in a long time so I figured I should since I have plenty of time. Things were going well and I started my progesterone shots at the begining of the month. My doctor got married and was out of town most of the month so I had to convince another doctor that I needed Weekly ultra sounds with my shots and she agreed. So at week 18, I had one and wouldn't you know, my cervix was measuring short. Almost immediately I was admited to labor and delivery and the next day, I had a cerclage put in. So everything went well and I have been on bed rest ever since. I saw my dr. this week and the stitch looked good, so did the baby. Oh, did I mention it is a girl!!!! we are very excited and if I end up in bed for the next 4 months then so be it.

Everything seems to be going ok so far this this pregnancy after the bleeding stopped a few weeks ago. I am on bated breath every day that passes, hoping for a healthy, full term child. I feel for all you mommies who have lost a little one. I keep telling myself that there is always hope and that God is with us.

30 May 2008

Well, just got back from my first apt. for this pregnancy and the dates were a bit off. I am 6 wks 5 days. The tech from last week measured wrong, oh well. Good news is that there is still a nice HB! I am seeing a perinatalologist which is a good thing. At 8 wks I will get another us to make sure the date is right and all is well. I start the progesterone shots ~ 16wks and for some reason, the military requres a co-pay for them.

11 May 2008

Happy mother's day!! I am a mother again! yes, only 3 months after our loss, we are pregers once again. I would love to say that I am happy, but the happiness is shadowed by fear and anxiety. Wish us luck!!!

21 March 2008

Hello everyone! Andy and I are parents to a little angel, George Andrew, who was born prematurely at 23 wks. It has been over a month now since our loss and we are just starting to think of the hope of trying again. After a meeting with our doctor, we don't know exactly why we lost our son, but she says her best guess is that it was pre-term labor brought on by some sort of infection or issue with in my body. We can not definately say that it was incompetent cervix but it is still a possibility. Most likely, I will take progesterone when we get pregnant again and go from there. The only thing that makes the pain feel better is thinking about being pregnant again. Lets hope it happens sooner rather than later.

It looks yummy. I am doing well, enjoying CJ to the fullest. I can't believe he is going to be 9 months already. It really does go by sooooo fast. Wait til Cora gets here...the first year will go by very fast.

Hey- My daughter's name is Sophie Mae..she is almost 19 months, and her sister's name will be Maggie Allen. Both are family names. George is a sweet name too! Yeah we are good with paying the mortgage, but I always have the problem of oh well I will charge this and then pay it off next month. So the credit card debt is what we are dealing with now too. I know we did it to ourselves, and it is not outrageous or anything just with another little one coming and money feeling tight makes me nervous. I have definitely had to make myself stay in so I would not buy anything else. lol Luckily having another girl we had almost everything she will need already, but girl's clothes are so fun to buy. Anyway- How much longer are they keeping you on bedrest? Hope you are feeling well and thanks for your comments!

Hey- I am in week 30 also and just read your story. It is very touching. Anyway I am happy for you and your husband that everything seems to be going well. You seem like a really strong person! Children are definitely a blessing. Oh and I love the name Cora. I am totally an old fashioned girl and love names like that!! so cute!

Hi Katie, look at you, you look gorgeous with that pregnant belly! And wow, you have reached week 30, that is awesome! I am so happy for you.

Hawaii was great! We went to the Big Island this time. We have been to Hawaii twice before (to 3 islands). It wasn't the prettiest island but most of all we had a great time with family. My highlight was watching Kaleb play with his older cousins.

I did have one sad moment after we had taken family photos. I couldn't help but think about how one person was missing, our little Kathleen. She should have been 6 weeks old. The trip was planned while we were pregnant and so it was extra hard not to think about the fact that she should have been there.

We have decided to move back to the states, hopefully next July. That also means we can't get pregnant the next two months as I would then be too pregnant to fly. I find it harder and harder to imagine though I will ever be pregnant again and have more children. Sometimes I feel fairly at peace about it, sometimes not.

Anyway, hope you are well. So glad you are able to work a bit again.

Love and hugs,
Karin

what's a cerclage? i dont think i've ever heard of that. i think i will ask my dr at my next appt. it's less than a week away now. i'm pretty sure all will be fine but i just dont remember having this with my other pregnancies. thanks for your quick response.

Megan - Wednesday, 12 November
you said on the 30 week page you were having the pelvic pressure and pain as well as lots of BHs after being up longer than five minutes also. i was wondering... do you think i should ask my dr to do a cervical check? since you said you have those and funneling or what not.

rahomsw - Tuesday, 11 November
Thanks. They put a lot of faith into the fib. test, so it must be pretty reliable. It was hard seeing my little guy last night. I'll be OK....I just know it!

Dear friends, just wanted to let you know I am now back from Hawaii. We had a wonderful trip. My whole husband's family from the mainland met us there and we really enjoyed our time together. My highlight was watching my son play with his older cousins - followed by swimming with dolphins. The week went way too fast.

Also wanted to let everyone know that we have decided to move back to the states to be closer to family. It has been something we have considered for a while and made the decision just before our trip. Our family was of course excited about the news. We plan to move back next July. That also means no BD this month or next month as I can't be over a certain amount of weeks when flying.

It is still hard for me to imagine I will ever be pregnant again and have more children, but at this point I do have peace about it. I know it is in God's hands, the best hands possible.

Love and hugs to everyone - and I will try to get around to responding to the 70 posts on my page.

God bless,
Karin
