To start with a little info on us. Me and my hubby have been married for 5 years and together for a total of 10 years. It has been so much fun!! We wanted to be married for 3 to 5 years before having a baby but thought it would happen quickly when we decided to give it a shot. Not quite...we tried for a year and a half, did most of the tests and all the tests were coming out normal. It was frustrating for a bit. Then in January we found out we were pregnant, but it ended quickly with miscarriage at 5 weeks. We are now PREGNANT again and are so excited and blessed, especially only 3 months after our miscarriage.
Hopefully, the next 8 months will go by quickly...we are part time owners of a quickly growing consulting business and the expansion keeps us on our toes!! Can't complain because the hard work will allow me to stay at home with our little bundle or bundles! Maybe you stay at home moms can provide tons of advice when the time comes.
Week 4/5: No morning sickness or anything unbearable yet. My HCG levels were 135 on 5/1 and 327 on 5/3. They are increasing normally. Praise God! I go back this Wednesday for another level check. They haven't scheduled my US yet but I am going to push them on that a bit.
Congrats to all the new moms! Got my results on Thursday and my HCG levels are 2936. It is raising as they should! My ultrasound is scheduled for Memorial Day!! That is good because I am traveling to the UK next week for work and it will let me know the little one handled the travel OK.
Week 6: Still feeling great! Just tired. We are now expanding our business and I am so excited. I am able to do it from home when the baby comes.
Week 7: Sorry for no updates this week but I am in the UK for a trade show and having a great time. I am so excited about the ultrasound on Monday but a little nervous too. Still feeling good and can't wait to get back to chatting with everyone next week.
Update...Unfortunately we had our ultrasound today and we found out that there was no heartbeat. We are truely devasted but must realize that God has a plan. I will keep everyone in my prayers for a healthy pregnancy.
New: Well, it has been a few weeks since my D&E and I feel great. I have gotten my preliminary path results back on Friday and they are fine. They said that it would be another 2 weeks to get the genetic testing back. The interesting thing that the MD said was that I want the test results to come back ABNORMAL. I was shocked but he said that if the tissue showed Downs or some Trimsomy that we could try again no problem as my body did exactly as it should have when the pregnancy stopped. However, if the results come back NORMAL then I have do go through more testing. Meaning more WAITING! Pray that the results come back abnormal so that we don't have to worry about more testing and we can try to get back TTC. Everybody has been such a support and Love each of you!
6/27: Well I got the results back today and as weird as it sounds, we got the results that we were hoping for. The baby had Trisomy 5 which from what the MD said and what I researched is REALLY bad. This means that my body is not rejecting the pregnancies which was our fear and I don't have to do any more tests. Phew! More waiting as I have to wait until September to TTC. Oh well, I am sure that it will be worth the wait.
7/31: I have been keeping in touch with many of you but didn't realize how long it has been since I have posted. SHAME on ME! We have lots of good stuff happening which is such a blessing from GOD. We have sold our house and moving into a much nicer home in a better part of town. This will be great for our future family. We were told to wait 3 cycles before we can try again and we now have 2 down. Only about 6 more weeks until we can see if we will be blessed with a little one. Unfortunatly my traveling starts up again so that may be a bit tricky. Anyway, good luck to all of you and I love all the updates!!!
8/16: Well the count down is on for AF to come. I usually start around the 26th of each month so that is coming up QUICK. We have to be out of our current house September 6th so we are moving in with Mom and Dad temporairly until we can get into the new one. You know what that means, we have to TTC in my parents house...nothing like knowing mom and dad are downstairs :))) I think that is a bit more pressure on my hubby than me. I will keep everyone posted and please keep your fingers crossed.
8/25: AF CAME TODAY! The count down is on. After 3 months of patiently waiting, I am now able to try again!!! Got the OK from the MD on Thursday. Girls get your baby dust out and throw it over my way.
9/3: Well we are on day 10 of the waiting game (hopefully, I will ovulate soon) and in the midst of moving to Mom and Dad's while our house is being finished. One more night with complete privacy.
10/28: Hola Ladies...I am finally home from my 2 week trip to Louisville, KY and am so glad to be HOME. We are still living with my parents and I am loving it! My parents are GREAT! I think I am going to cry again when we leave. Mine and Seth's 5 year anniversary is 11/2. I just can't believe that we have been married that long. I don't know what we are going to do but we will probably have to delay it a week as my sister's shower is this Saturday and honestly on Friday's we are just slap wore out. Plus my sister and her husband are only in town for the weekend so we want to hang out with them as much as possible. I just completed my first month of official clomid. How cool would that be if we got pregnant on the month of our 5th year anniversay. Keep your fingers crossed but we know that it is in God's hands.
11/12: I got the progesterone results back today from the MD. Mine was an 18. They said that anything over 10 was good and I did indeed ovulate. Now I just need to keep my fingers crossed. I am on day 25 and I usually start on day 28 through 31. I did take a cheap $1 store OPT and got a negative so I am not going to get my hopes up.
11/14: What the H&$$. AF showed on day 27. Well I talked the MD to up my does of clomid to 100mg. We will see what next month brings. Amy asked me to figure out what I wanted for Christmas and now I know.
12/12: AF came today. Gosh if you look back at my page the last few times, that is all you see. Starting to get beyond annoyed. I guess we will see what next month has to bring. 2008 has got to be better than 2007 in the kid department.
12/17: I am not on day 3 of clomid (100mg). I talked to the nurse at length last week as this is my 4th month on clomid. She advised that I come in and speak to the MD this Thursday to discuss my options. Which are to go off clomid or go see a RE. I know i have been MIA last week but like everyone else, it is Holiday Madness.
12/23: I went to the OB on Thursday for a consult on our next steps. He told us that he was perplexed. We were like, so are we :) But his reasoning is my progesterone leverls are AWESOME (last test was a 35) and DH is fine. He advised that on this next 21 day blood draw he would do a series of hormone tests. So keep your fingers crossed that those are OK. But if they are OK, I then have to have a test to see if my tubes are blocked (which he said that he didnt think so since I have had 2 pregnancies). So if that test turns out alright, I will then be referred to the RE. Looks like we are going to make headway one way or another in January!
Merry Christmas to All my Girls! Love you lots!!!
1/4: Happy New Year to everyone! 2008 has got to be better than 2007 and 2007 wasn't all that bad. I had my day 21 tests on Wednesday and got the results back today. They tested about 7 or 8 hormones with the important ones being the Thyroid function and prolactin. All hormones came out OK but the prolactin which was HIGH. The levels were 40 and normal is under 15. The good news is that my progesterone levels were 29.5 (a little down from last month). So I did ovulate which sometimes the high prolactin can prevent. SOOO this is what we are waiting on. Will I get pregnant this month???? i hope so....If not, I will have another prolacten test to check the levels. In the meantime to get the levels down, NO stimulation. No shower hitting them, no touching, and looks like I am going out to buy thick bras. Also, I will have the HSG test which is where they will flush my tubes out with dye to see if there are any blockages. Which I don't think they are because I have gotten pregnant twice. If they are clear and my levels are still high, I will then see a Reproductive Endocrinologists (RE). As far as a pregnancy this month, I am not hopeful because my grandpa is deathly ill and we are spending every waking minute with him when we don't have to work and then taking turns at night to relieve my mom, aunt, and dad. So pray for Mercy for my grandpa and that he won't hold on for us but go on to his Heavenly home.
I sure love all you guys for all the support that you are!
1/7/08: Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. My grandfather passed away around 2AM on Saturday morning. Almost 3 weeks from his diagnosis. It is still unbelievable how quickly it happened. BUT, he is in a much better place and looking down on us smiling. A little update on me...I am on day 27 with cramping and breakout so AF is probably coming anyday now. GURRR she is the most annoying visitor. I will keep you posted...
1/17: Well AF showed on 1/10 and I am going in for my HSG today at 10:30. I asked how long it would take for the results and they said about 2 weeks. That is just nuts! But we will see. I am off the clomid this month and need to call the MD today and get a referral to the RE. Then I have my blood tests on 1/30 to check my progesterone levels off clomid and to see if my prolactin levels have gone down. They said that stress could affect the prolactin and I was completely stressed with my grandpa being so sick so I hope that was the cause. I don't want to go on more medicine. Thanks for all your prayers. XOXOXO - Karrie
1/20: I had my HSG on Thursday and it was great. No blockages. It was actually a breeze. Just cramping afterward but not painful during the procedure itself. So we are just in the typical month playout. Ovulate this week and then the 2 week wait. Baby dust to all the TTC's and continued good news for all the mommie's to be. XOXO
2/1: I got my lab results back today...My prolactin decreased from 40.7 to 32.2 yeah!!! I have to go back in 3 months to have it tested because it is still elevated but at least it is decreasing and not increasing. My progesterone levels showed ovulation at 18.8. Although down from last months 29.5 but this month I am not on the clomid and I am still over the 12 which is what they want to see. Phew...We will see what next month has to bring since the drug stays in your system for 6 weeks. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. I went to a seminar on IVF on Tuesday night and it was just fascinating. They gave away a free treatment worth $15,000 and I was off by 1 number. BOOOH but that is fine. God has a plan for us, I just haven't figured it out yet. Love ya...
4/29/08: Well I now have some news to finally report. No I am not pregnant! Friday I go to see the Reproductive Endocronologist. I have my preliminary blood work done tomorrow and they will the results for my Friday visit. So, I will keep you guys posted....
5/5/08: I am a little late as usual posting news so I am sorry. We had our appt with the RE on Friday (5/2) and it went pretty good. It was the initial visit so we spent time reviewing my history and what the next steps were. The MD stated that we should start with IUI for a few months before moving on to a more complex IVF. I am just ready to get started so I don't care. He did mention that they like to do 4 trys on the IUI and I will not wait that long. I will try 2 months of IUI but nothing more because it will tap out my coverage. I went last Thursday (the day before my appt with the MD) and had some blood work which came back fine. They were looking at my FSH and then on Friday we did an US. That came back normal as well. I had 4 eggs on one side and 5 on the other...Very normal for no medication assistance. He said that you like to see 4 to 5 eggs on each side. I couldn't have been more normal. So I am to call a week before AF is to start to go in and review my medications and how to give myself injections and then we will get started. I am on day 8, so in about 3 weeks we will have this show on the road....
6/1: AHHH it is the end of the weekend. Well tomorrow I go in for my US to see when the IUI will take place. Please say tons of prayers that things look good and we will have a successful venture this month. Believe it or not I am not stressed. I am giving myself injections now and it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Well I hope everyone is doing well.
6/3: Got the test results back today and it has been confirmed that Thursday is the day for the IUI. I took my triggers shot tonight so I should ovulate in 36 hours or that is what they say...On Thursday I go in for final blood work, Seth gives his specimen and then I go back in for the IUI at 11. I am going to take it easy for the next week or so. My mom and I are going to see some movies this weekend. I can't wait to see Sex in the City! Thanks for all you prayers and baby dust to all!!!
6/24: Well I know most of you know that I got a BFN this month! AF showed your ugly face last Friday so I was like no biggie, we will get this next month going. WRONG! I went in and was told that I have 2 cysts one on each ovary! The worst part, I have to put this month on hold. Whatever. I am so frustrated and really don't know what to think.
7/22: Man it is hot here, 98 degrees. So this is the latest in my journey to concieve We have decided to move forward with IVF with the insurance change in January. I am so nervous about it but like a friend told me is that nervousness means negative thoughts and negatives thoughts aren't good. So no more nervousness for me. I am waiting on my LH surge so they can begin my supression shots. I have a trial transfer next Thursday and then 2 weeks after that, they will take the eggs and then 5 days after that put them back in. So no matter what route you take, you cant avoid the 2 week wait. At least with this route they decrease the last 2 week wait to 10 days...so stay tuned....
