~*Halloween 2008 and her first word!*~
She was a kitty for Halloween!

2 days after Halloween on November 2, 2008 she said "mama"... as clear as day. I don't know if it was an accident but I've been saying mama to her for weeks now and it makes her smile and giggle. On November 2nd I put her down to get a bottle and she started to get upset and I heard "MAMA" very loud and clear. I almost cried!

Here is a video of my husband trying to get her to say mama again, it didn't work but she found it awfully amusing. :-)

Today my baby turns 2 months old! We took her to a pumpkin patch last weekend and she picked out her first pumpkin!

And here are two videos of her smiling and talking to her new play gym!

Well, in less than 2 weeks on October 21st, Abigail will be 2 months old. Just the other day I got her first smile on camera! It was the peek-a-boo game that got her. :D

Miss Abigail is now two weeks old and I wanted to share a few new photos of her!

Happy one week old Abigail!

~*August 25, 2008*~
Well, Abigail is adjusting well to being at home. She had her first appointment today with her pediatrician and they said she is doing exceptionally well for being early. This makes us very happy. She is eating like Miss Piggy and getting a little more personality each day. Here are some homecoming pictures I thought I would share.

Well, on August 21, 2008 my baby girl Abigail was born at 12:06pm via emergency c-section and she weighed 6lb 14oz and 19 inches long at the time of birth. You can read the full birth story on my page, under the children link. But for now, a couple of pictures. I am still in the hospital but hopefully we are going home tomorrow. I wish everyone happy and healthy pregnancies and deliveries! Hopefully you won't have to go through what I did but luckily we had a good outcome.

I am just going to mass update here for everyone because I am honestly too tired and sore to do much more.

I went for my week 37 visit yesterday. While I was there I kept having contractions so they hooked me up to the monitors to see how many I was having and if it was bothering the baby. I had about 7 contractions during the 20 minute test so the doctor decided to send me down to labor and delivery to get monitored longer.

I got hooked up to the machines there and had all sorts of things done. Later that evening I got yet another fun exam from the on call doctor with no cervical change still. They decided to keep me over night to see if anything happened since I live so far away. I got hooked up to an IV for fluids in case it was due to dehydration. I got stuck about 5 times looking for veins, drawing blood for tests, etc.

My husband ended up spending the night with me. Thankfully my doctor was on call today, he checked me in the AM, still no change but lots of contractions. Every 2-4 minutes. He ended up deciding I'd be better off at home and to schedule an earlier appointment next week to see if anything has changed.

I am really tired, my arms hurt, my belly hurts from the monitors poking in to my stomach all night, I am miserable. I am still having contractions but they've gotten a LITTLE better. I am basically on semi bed rest until either my water breaks or the contractions get worse. Apparently my case is so different I can no longer call when contractions are "5 minutes apart" because mine are consistently 2 to 4 minutes apart. So, I have to call when either 1) my water breaks or 2) the contractions become really painful.

I came home, took a shower, and am now resting. I never got my hospital bag packed, only Abi's, so I will be doing that tomorrow. Her car seat is now in my car. My husband drove it up there just in case.

The only two positive things to come from all this is:

1)My doctor prescribed me Ambien to help me sleep, they gave me some last night and it was pretty awesome

2)My strep b test came back negative

Otherwise, I'm in Hell and Abi's driving the bus :P I kid.... but seriously... I cannot take much more of this. Last night was the scariest, weirdest, experience ever. I am now that much more horrified of the real thing.

~*August 9, 2008*~
Well, I am now in my 36th week of pregnancy and feeling the pain. I don't have much to say except everything is ready for baby and I have everything I need for my hospital bag, I just have to put it IN the bag, and the baby's bag as well. I hope this will all be over soon! I am looking forward to Fall and all the upcoming holidays, especially Halloween! We already have her costume. :)

Here is a photo of me for week 36, and yes... I am as tired as I look. :/

Me and the kitty Binkie

Not sure if this will be my last update before the delivery or not but I hope everyone else is doing well, whatever week you are in!

Today I am 33 weeks. I had my baby shower this past weekend, July 13th, and it was really nice. I wanted to update with some photos of Abigail's nursery and a few pictures from the shower!

Today we had our free week 30 ultrasound in 3D. She was so wiggly the entire time but we managed to get some good shots of her face rubbing, sleeping (at one point), and thumb sucking. We also got a B&W image of her foot up above her head/face, where it was one of the time! Gymnast! Her little cheeks and fingers have gotten chubbier. These are some of my favorites:

Well, happy Friday the 13th to me. I had my week 28 doctor visit. It was NOT fun. The glucose
orange drink, which everyone said tasted like Sunkist, in fact did NOT. It was nasty. Even worse
I had to chug it in 3 minutes. It was so early in the morning and so much sugar I almost got sick.
I PRAY I do not have to do the 3 hour test. Then I had to have my finger pricked for my iron level
check. For some reason it bled like crazy and still throbbed 2 hours later. After the drink processed
and I filled out pre registration paperwork for the hospital, I had 2 vials of blood taken for the glucose
test. My arm is so sore and bruised right now. Last but not least I had to have a shot for the
Rh Negative issue. It hurt and burned... was right about my bum too. Awesome. The
only plus to my visit is I am 3 pounds under weight. YES! I don't have to worry about
a diet..... yet. Now I start seeing the doctor every 2 weeks. We're moving now. I thought
I would do a comparison photo since I took a recent one today.

~*June 5, 2008*~
I am now in week 27 and we had our 3D ultrasound today. It was SO worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone on the fence. Even cooler, I got invited back in 3 weeks for free because she is training her friend to take over because she is also having a baby soon! So, I get a free 3D! It was the NICEST facility. So comfortable and beautifully set up and the girl was so super nice and she spent almost 40 minutes with us! We got a DVD of the entire session, pictures on CD, as well as 8 print outs. We got some neat 4D streaming shots of her smiling, waving, thumb sucking, and snuggling. She has the cutest nose and lips... she is perfect. We even got a 2D gender shot where you can clearly see the "hamburger"... girl all the way.

Here are two of my favorite shots, the rest can be found in my photos section.

Smiling!

Thumb sucker!

I am in love :)

Well, I had my week 21 doctor appointment today. It went great except I gained 10 pounds, UGH!... so.... to mark the occasion of everything going well and my lovely weight gain I decided to add week 21 belly photos! It could be worse, right??

~*April 22, 2008*~
Well, on Thursday I go for my week 21 check up. Hopefully I will get to hear her little heart beat again. In other news, her daddy made her the sweetest picture, I just wanted to share.

A daddy's girl already. :-)

~*April 15, 2008*~
These photos were taken from my 19 week ultrasound about a week ago. She had her little hand up to the side of her face most of the time as you will notice from my illustrations. :)

~*April 07, 2008*~
Well, I had my 18 week ultrasound today. Of course the tech seems to think I am 19 weeks. I am NOT complaining there! My mom, husband, and best friend went. The baby was so active. Had hand up to the face almost the whole time, it was so cute... and perfectly healthy. Oh and............

And I updated my baby names list, please re vote! :)

Last night I had a dream we got the AFP test results back (baby abnormalities such as Down Syndrome, etc) and it was positive. I woke up so scared I went to check my cell phone. Sure enough, my nurse had called me with the results... they all came back... NEGATIVE! I feel so relieved!! Whew... just 11 more days until we try to find out the gender! :O

~*March 24, 2008*~
Today I had my 16 week doctor's appointment and for the first time we got to hear the baby's heart beat! It was indescribable. My eyes watered, I couldn't help it. 154 beats per minute, nice and strong. We also did the testing for down syndrome and other abnormalities. We will get the results for that on Friday.

Also, April 7th at 10am I have an ultrasound appointment where we will hopefully find out the gender! I am so excited... it is only two weeks away. I feel so relieved and happy.

About 5 minutes ago I felt VERY large movement. It startled me a LOT! It was one HUGE kick... I say huge because all I have felt the past few days are tiny little pulses. This felt like one HUGE pulse in my lower stomach. It scared me quite a lot! Not something I am used to feeling!!

~*March 22, 2008*~
I feel huge today...

Happy St. Patrick's Day! My baby did a little Irish dance for me this morning!! I woke up, sat up for a minute... decided I was still tired so I laid back down on my left side. Well, I guess I woke the little baby up because for a brief few seconds I felt some flutters in my tummy... almost like butterflies flying around, and then it was gone! Aw.. :D

~*March 16, 2008*~

Hi everyone! I am currently 15 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I hope to schedule an ultrasound for my 18th week in hopes to find out the sex of our baby! I have been married for only 6 months but have been with my husband for almost 4 years. My pregnancy started out rocky but things have been going good for the past two weeks. I will be relieved at my next visit on March 24th when we can listen to the heartbeat!

Here is what I look like at 15 weeks:

Thanks for looking and congrats to all the moms!

devonp - Wednesday, 30 July
I am in such a bad mood today for no reason last night I had really bad pains in my back and my belly would get rock hard. I can't get comfortable and I am not sleeping but maybe an hour or two at a time and then it takes an hour to fall back asleep. I have heartburn so bad. So I guess not being in pain for those few weeks is now catching up to me. I am so ready to have this baby I can't wait for my body to be normal. OH and to top it off he has his little knee or elbow sticking out off my side and it really hurts.

Wow you already have got your Halloween costume I need go to babies r us this weekend and pick up a few more things so I will check them out. I guess I should buy one now before all the cute ones in his size are gone.

I have got a few cans of formula in the mail and my doctors office gave me a goodies back with a can and a changing mat and a book to write things every week of your pregnancy. (I don't think they know its for the first trimester not the third) But I signed up for diaper bags and stuff my doctors office gave me a a goodies bag the first visit and then last time and there is always postcards to get free things and they are in books and stuff that come in the mail and I signed up on the computer. But I will ship you the stuff that you are using if I have samples of it for sure.

Yes I will post pictures as soon as I have the little guy I can't wait and I don't think that I am giving this site up after I have the baby I talk to so many people it would be hard and the one girl I talk to is 18 weeks along so I still want to keep in touch. I bet I wont clock in so many hours but I still be on here.

its alright..ive been on my own since i was 17 paying bills constantly..i deserve a break! even if it means living with my mom again...plus my mom and sister will be there to babysit whenever i need..or i could go to my grandmas..they leave in october to go to florida every year so if i stay there i will basically have my own house come october...but my cousin lives there right now so i dont really have enough room for my stuff and my babys but we'll see how that goes

whatwillitbe - Tuesday, 29 July
thanks, now i just have to convince my brothers to move my furniture and all to my moms! its just going to be hard to pack up all my stuff when i'm almost 9 months pregnant! plus i just finished setting up the nusery now i have to take it all down lol!

whatwillitbe - Tuesday, 29 July
thanks...i think it will all work out somehow..with or without him! he's a good father atleast i know that...i just dont think he wants to give up hanging with his friends everyday and if he lives with me he cant because they live far away...and he's working 70 to 80 hours a week which gets stressful..he really isnt as bad as it seems right now its jsut everything is piling up...ugh life is great!

STCT - Tuesday, 29 July
I wasn't feeling my little girl move that much so my Dr had me come in and just check on her and do a stress test. Seaming my next schedule visit was for Wednesday they just checked me today. Everything looked great. We will be induced on August 22, 2008. Four days before our wedding anniversary.

devonp - Monday, 28 July
That is such a good idea about writing everything out. Bill is really for breast feeding and part of me feels I owe it to him to at least give it a try and see if I like it but the truth is I already formed my option of hating it in my mind and I don't know how I could change that. So I am still up in the air but good call on making the list. Hey let me know what formula you are going to use maybe I have sample cans of it they just don't seem to stop sending them which to me is a sign of what choice to make. LOL

Yes its our pants off visit that start how fun. I kind of wrote down what I want to bring and so now its just putting it all together. I only have luggage (light pink at that) so that will look silly so I am going to look for a little bag to take with me. I love the Vera Bradley stuff and I saw a really cute weekend tote but I didn't know that her stuff was so costly so I will check target.

I have to say I am not having braxton hicks really I think maybe a few but I don't even know if thats what they were. It worries me I have had no craving and no braxton hicks and I am not really in pain. I can't get comfortable but not really painful.

Do you feel better today? What are your cravings? I know people who had to eat the same thing everyday and would want it in the middle of the night. I don't have any of that the only think I get is like I will want pizza for lunch but if I don't have it doesn't matter.

devonp - Friday, 25 July
Its funny you should bring up the book thing. I was reading parenting or something and they said at baby showers people are going with bring a book and not a wishing well item. that in the book people should write a little note to the baby and it should be a book that they loved as a child and that sounded really neat to me to start that but I never heard of someone giving just books.

devonp - Friday, 25 July
How was your doctors appointment?

devonp - Thursday, 24 July
My doctor is a big help he is a close talker which makes me crazy and he is very touchy feely which I am not I like my personal space but he really is a nice guy and he is not creepy which makes me mind less that he is always in my space. LOL

I love my space that is a big down fall for me it makes me nuts when people want to hug and kiss me. I hate it.

suzetter - Thursday, 24 July
HAHAHA that is a really good way to think about it, makes me feel quite pampered haha!!

jenniferbrown - Thursday, 24 July
I have the same diaper bag as you except mine is blue =)

cashe00 - Thursday, 24 July
Im feeling exactly the same way you are! VERY nervous I'm sure we'll be fine, it's just the whole fear of the unknown. The other day I started thinking "well crap, there's no way to turn back now, he's going to have to come out somehow" Too bad that whole stork story isn't true.

devonp - Wednesday, 23 July
Thats great you got the straps today. Our post office gets goofy sometime. If I mail a package to my parents it can take 3 days or a week and half. You have to love the USPS. Your very welcome enjoy.

I am feeling better now I have a doctor appointment in the morning so I will let you know how that goes. He moved so much earlier now he has not moved in a while and his little butt is sticking out of my side. My doctor told me before if I want to make him move chew on ice or drink something really cold. It does make him move half the time but not always.

Are you feeling better? I am very tired I didn't really get a good nap in.

devonp - Wednesday, 23 July
I hear you.

I am not feeling well today a little dizzy and I feel like I have a fever and the baby has been moving for an hour now. I am worried he is in stress or whatever they say. I hate not knowing what is right and what is not right. I wish I knew what was going on. I guess I should call my doctor and see what they say. I just hate being that girl who calls for everything and its always nothing. I am calling Bill also and seeing what he thinks.

How are you feeling?

irishbaby1 - Wednesday, 23 July
Yeay! Its such great news I am thrilled to bits that it i a darker line. Keeping my fingers crossed everything goes well

devonp - Wednesday, 23 July
Bill is getting the same way about driving. I am short so I have to sit very close to the wheel and that makes him nuts. I was driving a Jetta but I just sold it and now we are getting a SUV or something bigger "safer" you know. But when it was just me the Jetta was safe enough. LOL

My one doctor is a man and the other is a women believe it or not the man is so much more understanding then the women. I pray everyday that he is on call the day I go into labor. She is grumpy and not really nice. I have him this time so I am going to bring it up and see what he has to say. He always gives advice but never makes you feel like his advice is the only way. So I will hear him out and tell him my views. Like last night I went to the mall and a women was sitting there breast feeding and to each their own but I could never bring myself to do that.
