My Husband, Mike, and I have been married for 7 years March 3rd. This is our 3rd pregnancy, but our 1st successful one. It took me 6 months to become pregnant with this little Angel. We know it is a girl and have named her Shayla Elizabeth. We both love her so much already and she has a big family anxiously awaiting her arrival. I couldn't be more happy!

Congrats on your new baby! You must be so excited. I was reading your comment under the sleep section and pray you don't have the same problems I've had. My daughter is 6 months now and has NEVER slept through the night. She has always been a horrible, horrible horrible sleeper! It is so true what they say, you HAVE to sleep when your baby does, even if it is in the day otherwise you will get so run down. I found this very hard, there was always something I felt like I should be doing (ie. laundry, cleaning the house, going for a shower, etc.) but honestly, you just have to let those things go and worry about you and your baby. Good luck! I hope it is just a phase your little one is going through! Take care and let me know how things are going:)

Why thankyou! I figured I remember it all so well right now, but have gotten through the first stages of sleeping/feednig/teething etc I should post! I LOVE your birth story! hehe. Yes vaginal birth is NOT cool, and I just hope against hope I need a Ceaser next time! I just cant quite bring myself to request one if you know what I mean. She is super cute and I'm so glad for you that you got your angel at last x

Geez, you're right, you read all these books and then they tell you something different. Maddi has been super fussy lately, I am trying to watch what I eat to pinpoint swhat makes her gassy, right now it's everything. I am trying to go at least 2.5 hours in between each feeding, but there have been a few times when I just couln't take the crying anymore. The books also say that somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks they have a growth spurt, so that could be it too.

I have learned that swaddling her real tight sometimes works, she usually won't take a pacifier so that's out. I am going to try a bath tonight to see if that helps, I also have been doing the bicycling thing with her legs to help the gas. Hopefully everything helps. I am just glad my MIL is flying in Thursday to help out for a few days, I need a break!!

Sounds like your little one is pretty healthy, if I had to guess I would say that is about what Maddi has gained, Hey I would rather have them be well fed than underfed!

She's a doll!! And I absolutely love your idea with the heating pad! I did that yesterday and every time I put Maddi down in her crib she stayed asleep, whereas half the time unless she is in a deep sleep she usually wakes up.

Maddi does not sleep much either and when she does it does not seem like that long, she usually sleeps for 4 hour stretches at night, I wish they were a little longer, but luckily after I feed her she's pretty content falling asleep again on my chest. I need to invest in a sling or something because during the day she just wants to be held and I can't get anything accomplished.
I am done worrying about the feeding thing, if she starts screaming bloody murder I will feed her, I can definetely tell the difference at this point between a feed me cry and other various crying sessions. All the books say to feed them on their schedule so that's what I'm doing. Besides after I add up the number of feedings she gets in a day they average at about 8 times so??? Let me knoe what your doc says though, I am curious.

i finally got a hold of my pediatrician and he said dont let him go past 5 hours. since my baby eats alot and has been gaining weight good. but anyway... happy mothers day to you too! and julian makes so many cute faces too!! i love it!

Wow, I hear ya, Maddi seems to want to eat every hour and when she does she never lets go anfd if I pull her off she cries until I put her back on. I have been giving her a little bit of formula here and there and she can never get enough of that either, she'll down like 5 ounces and want more an hour later. My nipples are pretty used to it at this point but the pediatrician told me I am over feeding her because she haf gained 3 oz's at her 5 day appt. I am torn between feed her or let her cry and I certainly can't let a newborn cry. Have you talked to your doc about it? I would love to know what other doc's say about this kind of thing, I think my doc is an Ass!

im sorry... i didn't mean to not tell you. when i got home only after 3 days, i have so many messages! and trying to respond to them all is so hard! yes he's still in the hospital to be monitored because of his heart murmor. but the doctors say he will be just fine. im at the hospital all day, everyday waiting for him to come home so i haven't even had time to write up a birth story...

I know what you mean with the wiggling at odd hours, since I pretty much don't sleep at night anymore I pay a lot more attention to all the movement I feel at night and I can't help but think geez, is this what I'm in for?

What are they going to induce you with, are you going staright to the pitocin or are they going to try the gel first? I've heard a lot of women say that the gel had no affect on them and they had to resort to pitocin anyway, I don't have much hope that it will do any good, my doc will not do the gel and let me go home, I wish he would, I am much more combortable at home. Let's face it those hospital beds are not very nice.

I went into the hospital shortly after I posed, because I was getting fed up.

After screaming at my doctor for about ten minutes he finally decided to induce me.

I was in labor for 1 and 1/2 hours!
