My Husband, Mike, and I have been married for 7 years March 3rd. This is our 3rd pregnancy, but our 1st successful one. It took me 6 months to become pregnant with this little Angel. We know it is a girl and have named her Shayla Elizabeth. We both love her so much already and she has a big family anxiously awaiting her arrival. I couldn't be more happy!

Our last trip before baby!

Braver times! Well for one of us anyway!

Our first baby pics @ 21 weeks...profile view with her little hand by her

head and the other with her hiding her face!

Shayla Elizabeth @ 32 weeks. At first being shy and then giving us a little peak!

Shayla @ 34 weeks. Still not letting us see everything, but she gave us a

sweet smile!

Lol, just read the other comments, looks like I'm not the only one who likes Similac Isomil Advance!

MilMom2Be - Saturday, 19 July
I breastfeed and have to supplement occasionally (my supply dropped when I went back to work, but is coming back up nicely, just took alot of work!) Well, even tho my daughter is not dairy sensitive, I had heard soy formula was better for BF babies as it is sweeter, and they were right. She spit up the regular stuff, but does really well when I mix half breast milk and half Similac Isomil Advance (a soy formula) in her bottles. Hopefully I can quit supplementing soon, but it is nice to know she will take something when I am short on mommy milk!

littlecat - Saturday, 19 July
I tried the simalac sens. but the simalac isomil soy worked best. My little one started getting a stuffy nose and come to find out the soy cleared it up within days. good luck.

simulac sensitive is awsome my lil one had a hard time with isomil ans advance they made her so constipated

miracle-baby - Saturday, 19 July
Hi I believe that similac Advance is for babies who are allergic to dairy (so it doesn't have the three compounds that make up dairy: lactose, whey and caseine) whereas the other one is only for babies who are lactose intolerant. This means that they can ingest dairy but it makes their bellies upset. My niece is allergic to dairy and she has to carry an epipen at all times in case she comes in contact with milk. She cannot ingest milk at all. I hope this helped.

Hi I give my daughter isomil by similac. It great on tummies that can't handle dairy! Hope this helps!

Thanks, we'll have to work on getting it set up properly. Has yours ever had a false alarm since getting it set up right?

Well, I am glad to hear that things are mellowing out a bit. Maddi was an absolute angel yesterday, I don't know what it was but she tolerated her car seat all the way from my Mom's house back home and to Walgreens which is about a 40 mile drive and then she stayed in her car seat at Walgreens and didn't make a peep while I was getting her prescription, it was so nice.

Her doc prescribed her some baby prilosec, I gave her the first dose last night, it's not supposed to take full effect for a week or so but she slept through the night last night and was even asleep when I left for work this morning so that's a good sign.

You're right butter never left my menu either, although I use that spray butter and I doubt there is much actual butter in it. I was surprised to learn that there is no dairy in Mayo, at least the stuff I buy, it is all oil and eggs? Go figure. I want to have a big cheesy pizza soooo bad, but between the red sauce and the cheese, Maddi would hate me.

I think I am going to start doing the same in about a week or so, I will slowly add some dairy back and see if she is any different, at this point I really can't tell if it is all reflux or reflux and dairy???
How much does Shay weigh? Maddi weighs 13 1/2 pounds which is like 80th percentile but she has the chubbiest thighs. I think it is because I overfed her the first 6 weeks.

Well, have a good one and I hope they are peaceful happy babies for us today.

Thank you!!!

Well, I am glad the no dairy is working for you, I am on day 6, so far I haven't noticed a change but I think a big part of Maddi's problem is the acid reflux. Sje would not take a bottle or a breast last night no matter what we did, she would suck for about 5 seconds and then scream, we had a hard time getting her to sleep too, she was waking up in pain. I put a call to her doc again this morning to see if there is something other than the zantac like maybe prevacid or something. The zantac doesn't seems to be helping much now.
I'll definetely try the speaker trick, and hey I like loud music!
I could beat my Husband for putting her in front of the TV all the time, now, sometimes when she is in front of the TV, if you take her away from it she will cry until she can see it again, here we come ADD! No, not really, I think that is a load of shit anyway, My Mom said both my brother and I spent a lot of time in front of the TV as infants and we don't have ADD.
Anyway, I am glad things are getting better, except for the daytime nap thing, sometimes Maddi has days like that too, and you just can't get anything done!

Have a great time at the Cirque. It is awesome. I am sure that Shay will do well.

mom2boy - Saturday, 12 July
We are very blessed, I love having him in my life.

Thanks for the reply. I just wrote you a message but it seems to have dispeared in the ether. Anyhow, I was writing that I always thought that the water was too cold. We have a thermometer that indicates when the water is at babytemp... We're going to make it warmer next time (tomorrow). I hope that you are doing well and have a great weekend.

I am glad it's not just me. It used to be that I wanted and my husband didn't and now that is the opposite. Thanks for your post.

Hi, So I was on day three of no dairy until I realized yesterday morning that the Sobe lean I was drinking had skim milk in it?!?!, I swear dairy is in everything! I also love my dairy, from milk to cheese to butter!, it is difficult but it's worth a shot.

Sometimes I really wonder if it is just fussing to fuss because of situations like last night, we played on the couch for a good hour and she was smiling and giggling up a storm, then she seemed to get bored with it and began to fuss until I swaddled her and gave her a pacifier. She still will not let me put her down, I try her swing and she immediately starts to fuss, she just can't deal with not being entertained by one of us.

I have definetely noticed her more fussy when I eat chocolate or tomato sauce, she is down right miserable when I touch the stuff. Luckily she is sleeping through the night again since Monday, thank god!
Be careful with the soy formula, we have been giving Maddi a bottle of formula every night since about 4 weeks just to get her good and used to the bottle since I was returning to work part time at 8 weeks, well.. we gave her the soy formula one night and she screamed more than ever, it did not agree with her, and then I read that babies with the milk protein intolerance usually have a intolerance to soy also? Go figure!!
I wish the sling worked for me, I tried it and she fussed because she not only wants to be close but to be entertained. She is getting better though, she is entertained by me for longer periods now without fussing. I just wish she would like her swing so that I might be able to accomplish something in a day.

I can't belive the hair on Maddi, I swear it grows fast too, it still too short to do anything with though, it's so fine that clips and barrett's won't stay in, and the cute little head bands just look funny trying to fit them in with all the hair. We've tried to get it to lay down flat and it just poofs up no matter what we do???

Well, good luck! We're almost to three months, hopeully they will get better between 3 and 4 months.

My big one I could feel from the outside before pregnancy. It felt like a softball. Now it is just out of control! The doctor told me he would give me a pic of it from the surgery. I know it is sick, but I want to see this thing after all the trouble it caused me! 2 of my smaller ones are in the neighborhood of 7 cm. they will probably be left behind in the surgery as the doc does not want to carve up my uterus. If yours really starts to bother you I am sure you can raise enough fuss to get it removed!

thanks for the comment-- I KNEW that there was a med out that can help me out. i called my doc and he said that there wasnt. i am glad that you gave me the name!! i called walgreens and asked them after i talked to my doc and they said there are a couple out to help me. i wonder why my doc wont prescribe it?? i am doing everything that he asks. i am pumping at work and home and eating healthy-- drinking ensure twice a day and drinking plenty of fluids. nothing is working. now he is on vacation untill next week. i will check out the website. thanks.

beautifulbebe - Tuesday, 8 July
Hi - thanks for the message the other day. I love the name Shay, btw. I have a friend Shay who is from Saskatchewan!

nmck - Tuesday, 8 July
Hey! My biggest one is 17x25 cm. It is bigger than a football. It is outside my uterus connected by a very thick stalk. I knew I had it for a few years, and was afraid I might not be able to get pregnant but it was no problem. My pregnancy was quite difficult because of them though, and my son was born at 30 weeks. I have 2 others the size of softballs, but he will only remove them if he thinks it will not compromise my fertility. I do have discomfort during sex too. Can you feel yours from the outside?
