My profile

April 29, 2008::::::: I am a 28 year-old first time mommy-to-be. Me and daddy are soooo excited. So much that we are worried that something will go wrong :( I found out I was pregnant April 24, 2008! The doctor put me at 5 weeks then, but I think she was going by the start of my last mp which was March 15th. Anyway, I was thrilled at the news. She did an ultrasound and we saw a little flicker of a heartbeat! :) She also tested my progesterone levels and said they were drifting so she put me on natural progesterone suppositories, once a day at bedtime. I have been spotting since the time I was suppose to come on period- not heavy or red, just brown and it comes and goes. No cramping or backache either. I was told that the spotting is ok and unless it becomes heavy and red and I start cramping then I should be ok. But because I am spotting a little, my doctor is taking precautionary measures. I am really hoping these suppositiories will help sustain my pregnancy. I've never been pregnant before and now I read all these stories on here about m/c's after 9 and 16 weeks and even further, and it's terrifying! I mean, to get to know the baby for all that time and share your joy with everyone, then lose it?...I just can't imagine....I know nothing can be done to really prevent a m/c, but I have put all of my faith and hope in GOD for the health of this baby and myself. I pray for the baby every night and thank God for him every morning. I talk to him, telling him to hang in there cuz people want to meet him. I love this baby so much already, I just can't bare the thought of losing it. So regardless of what the doctors say, I am faithful and I believe that God can work MIRACLES and this baby will be completely fine, so I look forward to seeing him (or her ;) in December; healthy and happy and beautiful!

May 6, 2008::::: I feel pregnant- all day sickness, moodswings, itchy nipples, tender, heavy breasts, and my pelvis is killing me! But I welcome all of it because I know that's a good sign! Since I've been on the progesterone, my levels have gone up and the spotting has stopped significantly. My doc's plan is to keep me on it until 10 weeks but I think I wanna go further than that. I still see spotting ocassionally, maybe once or twice every few days, but it's nothing like it was and I was told that was normal and as long as it's not heavy, red and accompanied by cramping, I should be fine, especially since my levels have gone up. I go back for my duedate and another checkup May 15th, but based on the start of my last mp, i-am-pregnant.com gave me a duedate of December 20th!

May 15, 2008::::: I'm sooooo happy to say that my appointment went well! That was thee LONGEST appointment ever! I felt like I was at an interview! LOL! At first she did the ultrasound where she tried to hear the baby's heartbeat (just by putting the little thingamajiggy on top of my stomach), but she couldn't hear anything. So I got nervous! She said it was normal not to hear anything this soon, but you know us moms-to-be- we worry about EVERY LITTLE THING, especially when I know there was a heartbeat at 5 weeks. So for my own peace of mind, I talked her into letting me get another vaginal ultrasound and she said ok (whewww!!!!) The US tech didn't even have to do it vaginally; we both were able to see the heartbeat and the baby and he (or she ;) is waaay bigger than they were at 5 weeks! I could even make out the head and body this time! She said I'm measuring at 8.5. weeks and my duedate is right where I thought- December 20th! I feel soooo much better knowing that everything is ok. My 12-week appointment is June 12th and I'm feeling much better knowing that baby is still in there, growing and floating around!

ABOUT THE FATHER....

ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY....

Is this your first pregnancy? Yes

When did you find out you were pregnant? April 24

How far along were you when you found out? 5 weeks

Was it planned? Well I won't say we were trying, but we weren't taking any precautions either

What was you and the father's first reaction? He was thrilled; I was shocked at first, and then got really happy

Who was with you when you found out? I was alone

Who was the first person you told? Terry

How did your parents react? Mom was surprised, but sad because I'm moving; dad was happy; biological dad still doesn't know

Who else did you tell? Just people close to me; we'll tell more people when I get further along

What was your first symptom? Missed period; didn't feel sick until start of week 6

What is your duedate? December 20

Do you know the sex of the baby? No, but we want a boy

Have you picked out names? We know for sure the name will start with a T; a boy will be a Terry III. Not sure about a girl name

How much weight have you gained? Maybe a pound or 2

Do you have stretch marks? Yeah, but not from the baby! LOL! (I'm a little more on the "thick" side :)

Have you felt the baby move? Not yet; it's too soon. But my uterus does crazy stuff all the time!

Have you heard the heartbeat? No, but I saw it at 5 weeks, and again at 8

Do you think you'll have a big baby? Based on the scales of me and daddy, we could very well push out an 8-pounder!

ABOUT THE BIRTH....

Home or Hospital: Hospital

Natural or Medicated: I'll attempt natural, but I don't like pain so I don't know

Who will be in the delivery room with you? Terry

Will you breastfeed? Yes

Do you think you'll need a c-section? I hope not

Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time? I think it'll depend alot on daddy's reaction

What's the first thing you might say to him/her? "Hi baby!"

Would you let someone tape the birth? Sure, Terry can. Both of our families live in other states so what better way to share the experience!

I read your message on 9 weeks and it's HILARIOUS! :) I hate even thinking about chicken teriyaki. Even typing it is making me want throw up... if I smell it, I gag (haven't thrown up yet, but came close)

Just to update you on my scan half an hour ago. Everything is fine! I am SO happy! The sonographer said there was no need for concern - the heartbeat is strong and I am measuring at 9.2 weeks! So a great relief! Thanks for your support - hope you are well?
Jackie

ps. just about a month ago I had an appoint. and they couldn't find his heartbeat-though the doppler was on him. I about died at that moment. but she quickly grabbed an ultrasound machine and put in on my belly, and there he was- moving his little arms and legs just a tiny bit and his heart was beating perfectly. whewwww. So don't worry- it is normal. She said it must have been the way he was laying, or me or something.

congrats on your pregnancy!!! I just saw your post re: progesterone on that forum. Just so you know I miscarrie 2 babies, sept and dec.07, got preg. dec 29th and am now 22 wks! Praise the Lord! At 4 wks (yes 4- I NEW i was pregs and begged them to put me on prog.) I started suppositories, 100 mg twice/day. they said I could quit at 12 wks, but went until wk 14. I was so scared to quit- I was an emotional wreck about it. But My baby has been right on track and is growing ALOT- he moves all the time and is a strong little kicker! Don't worry, the supp. will work!

maycker - Saturday, 17 May

Yeah I go to the matlock one ... I like it the people there are really nice. My doctor is Dr. Sarmini I like him a lot!!! Congrats on your pregnancy!! Where are u moving from?!?

scruz - Saturday, 17 May
I love ultrasounds, your baby will be wiggling for you in no time. Congrats.

Stacemingas - Friday, 16 May
I go to Dr. James Peters at the Medical Center at Riverside. It is in Grand Prairie which is a surrounding town of Arlington. (It is really close to my work!)

I don't know anything about the OB/GYN at Matlock - this city is so big and there is still so much I don't know!

Dr. Peters is really good and I like the staff a lot. They also have Dr. Berzinskas (she's a woman) and they take turns seeing pregnant patients. I like going to a man AND a woman - you get expertise from both sides! I highly recommend them, but if I were you, I would make sure who you choose accepts your insurance if you have any. I know my doctors don't accept Medicaid patients. Be sure to ask when you are calling around!

Thanks! and you too! The Ob I use is real close to the one your talking about its called OMEGA OBGYN and they are great. It is on Omega beside the hospital

2b - Friday, 16 May
yeah, I'm not too thrilled to wait that long but she said they listen to the heartbeat at the next visit then at every visit following it. Just keep your fingers crossed for me. :)
What time to you eat dinner? I found when I eat dinner later at night I don't feel sick in the morning. The trick is to keep your stomach from getting empty!

2b - Friday, 16 May
lol, I don't really feel all that pregnant either! Sore boobs, hungry and tired all the time but never sick and I really don't pee that often... Anyway, Its in God's hands. The nurse ordered a new Hcg so lets hope the number is really really high that would be a good sign. At my next visit on June 2nd I'll be 10 weeks and they will try to find the heartbeat with a doppler but they don't do an u/s until 16 weeks!

2b - Friday, 16 May
Hi Latasha :)
Thanks for adding me. My appointment went good, it was a lot of talking. I didn't see the doctor (i'll see him on the next visit for a complete exam and to listen to the heartbeat on June 2nd)
They did blood work and took some pee, I'll get my results after 2 today.
Thanks for checking in on me.

NenaPreciosa - Friday, 16 May
Hey how are you? Congratulations on your pregnancy! Thanks for the message, I feel so much better when I know I'm not all alone in this. I was having some panic last week, I kept feeling like something was going to go wrong or something since I miscarried in august 2007. I'm not used to all this worrying since my pregnancy with my daughter went perfect like in the books you know lol but i guess it can't be like that everytime. I have an appointment coming on monday with the doc, i hope we can get the heartbeat, i'll be 9 weeks and 2 days by then, so lets keep our fingers crossed and I'll let you know how it went. If you ever want to talk message me ok.

QweetNC21 - Friday, 16 May
My next appointment is June 12th also-3:30 pm.

CArmione - Friday, 16 May
I live in Madison...and I do have family in Milwaukee. Wilburns, Overby, Khelseaus, Staples, Browns...
mmmm sour patch kids- get ready to have the roof of your mouth tore up! lol :)

CArmione - Friday, 16 May
No problem Sis...it's all good. Anything to make sure our little angels get here healthy. Had I known last year what I know now, things no doubt would/could have gone differently for us. But God has his lessons to teach us in his own time, so I can argue about that at all. I just smile knowing that in the end- it's all about love and nothing more.
When are you getting married? We got married last year September and basically moved, and got pregnant- we didn't waste anytime. My husband thinks we look alike....I told him if that were the case, you stole all the eyebrows! :)

amber0225 - Friday, 16 May

sweetgamom - Friday, 16 May
Im glad everything turned out good! If they would have done it vaginally, You would of have had a bigger chance of hearing the heart beat! I had mine done at 7 weeks and got to hear it! anyhow Congratulations
