My profile
April 29, 2008::::::: I am a 28 year-old first time mommy-to-be. Me and daddy are soooo excited. So much that we are worried that something will go wrong :( I found out I was pregnant April 24, 2008! The doctor put me at 5 weeks then, but I think she was going by the start of my last mp which was March 15th. Anyway, I was thrilled at the news. She did an ultrasound and we saw a little flicker of a heartbeat! :) She also tested my progesterone levels and said they were drifting so she put me on natural progesterone suppositories, once a day at bedtime. I have been spotting since the time I was suppose to come on period- not heavy or red, just brown and it comes and goes. No cramping or backache either. I was told that the spotting is ok and unless it becomes heavy and red and I start cramping then I should be ok. But because I am spotting a little, my doctor is taking precautionary measures. I am really hoping these suppositiories will help sustain my pregnancy. I've never been pregnant before and now I read all these stories on here about m/c's after 9 and 16 weeks and even further, and it's terrifying! I mean, to get to know the baby for all that time and share your joy with everyone, then lose it?...I just can't imagine....I know nothing can be done to really prevent a m/c, but I have put all of my faith and hope in GOD for the health of this baby and myself. I pray for the baby every night and thank God for him every morning. I talk to him, telling him to hang in there cuz people want to meet him. I love this baby so much already, I just can't bare the thought of losing it. So regardless of what the doctors say, I am faithful and I believe that God can work MIRACLES and this baby will be completely fine, so I look forward to seeing him (or her ;) in December; healthy and happy and beautiful!
May 6, 2008::::: I feel pregnant- all day sickness, moodswings, itchy nipples, tender, heavy breasts, and my pelvis is killing me! But I welcome all of it because I know that's a good sign! Since I've been on the progesterone, my levels have gone up and the spotting has stopped significantly. My doc's plan is to keep me on it until 10 weeks but I think I wanna go further than that. I still see spotting ocassionally, maybe once or twice every few days, but it's nothing like it was and I was told that was normal and as long as it's not heavy, red and accompanied by cramping, I should be fine, especially since my levels have gone up. I go back for my duedate and another checkup May 15th, but based on the start of my last mp, i-am-pregnant.com gave me a duedate of December 20th!
May 15, 2008::::: I'm sooooo happy to say that my appointment went well! That was thee LONGEST appointment ever! I felt like I was at an interview! LOL! At first she did the ultrasound where she tried to hear the baby's heartbeat (just by putting the little thingamajiggy on top of my stomach), but she couldn't hear anything. So I got nervous! She said it was normal not to hear anything this soon, but you know us moms-to-be- we worry about EVERY LITTLE THING, especially when I know there was a heartbeat at 5 weeks. So for my own peace of mind, I talked her into letting me get another vaginal ultrasound and she said ok (whewww!!!!) The US tech didn't even have to do it vaginally; we both were able to see the heartbeat and the baby and he (or she ;) is waaay bigger than they were at 5 weeks! I could even make out the head and body this time! She said I'm measuring at 8.5. weeks and my duedate is right where I thought- December 20th! I feel soooo much better knowing that everything is ok. My 12-week appointment is June 12th and I'm feeling much better knowing that baby is still in there, growing and floating around!

ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY....
Is this your first pregnancy? Yes
When did you find out you were pregnant? April 24
How far along were you when you found out? 5 weeks
Was it planned? Well I won't say we were trying, but we weren't taking any precautions either
What was you and the father's first reaction? He was thrilled; I was shocked at first, and then got really happy
Who was with you when you found out? I was alone
Who was the first person you told? Terry
How did your parents react? Mom was surprised, but sad because I'm moving; dad was happy; biological dad still doesn't know
Who else did you tell? Just people close to me; we'll tell more people when I get further along
What was your first symptom? Missed period; didn't feel sick until start of week 6
What is your duedate? December 20
Do you know the sex of the baby? No, but we want a boy
Have you picked out names? We know for sure the name will start with a T; a boy will be a Terry III. Not sure about a girl name
How much weight have you gained? Maybe a pound or 2
Do you have stretch marks? Yeah, but not from the baby! LOL! (I'm a little more on the "thick" side :)
Have you felt the baby move? Not yet; it's too soon. But my uterus does crazy stuff all the time!
Have you heard the heartbeat? No, but I saw it at 5 weeks, and again at 8
Do you think you'll have a big baby? Based on the scales of me and daddy, we could very well push out an 8-pounder!
ABOUT THE BIRTH....
Home or Hospital: Hospital
Natural or Medicated: I'll attempt natural, but I don't like pain so I don't know
Who will be in the delivery room with you? Terry
Will you breastfeed? Yes
Do you think you'll need a c-section? I hope not
Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time? I think it'll depend alot on daddy's reaction
What's the first thing you might say to him/her? "Hi baby!"
Would you let someone tape the birth? Sure, Terry can. Both of our families live in other states so what better way to share the experience!
awww.. its crazy how much the sono pics change from week five to week eight.
