Isaiah William John.

birth story.
I started getting period like pains 3 days before i went into proper labour. i had no idea what was goin on or what to think! On the wednesday night me n will decided to go out for dinner so we could have our last couple thing together. the whole time i was having mild contractions but didnt say anything because i thought they were probably jus BH coz i wasnt due 4 another 2 weeks. after goin t bed that night the contractions got stronger and i couldnt sleep...so at 3 in the mornin g i got up and watched some telly! will noticed i was gone and came to find me...i told him i think im in labour, but i wasnt all that sure! lucky i live with my mum so i asked her and she said it probably is, i tired to go back 2 bed but i was in pain so sleeping was not what i wanted to do!! At around 6am i rang the hospital and they told me to come in and they will check to c how it is all going. I was only 1cm dialated and my contractions were still irregular. they gave me the choice to go home so i did. after having a hot shower and attempting to go back to bed i found i was bleeding. i rang the hospital again and they told me yet again to come in. this time i didnt leave. i was checked into the ward and they came to see how i was going every hour. by 12 i was moved to the birthing suite and given some pethadine for the pain. it was a bad idea. it made me so dizzy!! during my whole labour all i wanted to do was walk around i decided not to have anymore pain relief until later when i thought it would nearly b time. at about 5pm my water broke and by now i knew there was no going back!!! i waited and waited and finally at 10pm i got an epidural. it was amazing!!!!! by now i had been having regular contractions 2 mins apart that lasted 60 secs. when it came to 1am the midwife finally told me it was time to push! it freaked me out and mum told me the look on my face was priceless! i was pushing 4 around half an hour and at 1.32am gave birth to a gorgeous boy!!
Thursday, 22nd of November 2007.So today is the day before my 1st ultrasound! I am so excited and so scared. I really want everything to go well...and to find out my baby is healthy! I know for sure that he will be!!Once I have had the scan I'll put some of the pictures up here...so i can show off my gorgeous baby! haha..
Friday, 23rd of November 2007.wow! today I had my 1st scan! it was the most amazing thing ever! Originally the Dr. n I thought i was 11 weeks along..but no we were wrong! I'M ACTUALLY 15 WEEKS! yay! that means i get 2 meet my baby sooner! I now have a pic up of my tiny 1 for u all to have a look at! The man that did the scan said it looks like im having a boy..but he also told me not to go painting his room blue yet! dont they always say that though?! i mean in the next few weeks that thing between his little legs isnt gonna fall off now is it! haha... xDwell yes i have had a great day!

Tuesday, 3rd of December 2007.Had to have a blood test for rubella last friday. I am so scared! I hope it comes back negative. That is really the last thing I would need at the moment..I hope I just have a rash from something else..ekkk! Some more posative news though, I think I felt the babt move the other morning. I'm not all that sure though because people say it feels like so many different things. Anyway, mine felt like a soft summersault in my tummy..it was a feeling I have never felt before..but it was cool!

yay! had my 2nd scan! it went for ages...got to look at my lil boy for bout an hour! it was awesome! He's all healthy and has grown jus rite! It was great watching him..he was putting both his hands in his mouth and drinking the amniotic fluid! He loves having his head rite in my hip and his body stretched out across my stomach! I feel him move almost everyday now..and i can tell he is getting stronger and stronger! I've bought so much stuff for him wen he's born! We don't even have anywere to put it all! oo..jus gave me a kick! haha... i really cant wait till he is born! It was funny but the other day I really came to the realization that im goin to actually be having a lil human being! It was the strangest feeling...like wen i was shopping i was thinking everything i have bought my son is going to wear it and see it and touch it...it was so strange!
Saturday, 5th of January 2008.
Not all that much has changed since the last time i wrote on here but I thought I should just write something because i haven't in awhile! Well none of my clothes fit me at all! I have had to buy everything new! I mean I don't really mind...but my pocket does! ekk..
I've notices my skin has dried out heaps since being pregnant. It doesn't matter what i do either..nothing will get rid of it! Having alot of lower back pain lately to, which is a pain in the arse at work! I've decided I'm going to stop working when I'm 28 weeks along. So only like 7 weeks to go! My fiance and I have also decided I'm going to be a stay at home mummy...I really can't wait! There is no real point in me going back to work because the amount of money I would earn would all go straight to child care..and I would much rather look after my own little boy! =D
Well I hope you all have a great 2008!
Saturday, 12th of January 2008.
Starting to notice i cant bend over anymore! shaving my legs in the shower was quite a task! but apart form all that things seem to be going well. I can really tell Isaiah is getting stronger..the kicks i have gotten this week have really packed a punch! haha..and i felt a boney elbow in my side the other day...ouch!
had a bit of luck maternity shopping..got a skirt n 2 tops..target, big w n pumpkin patch have some good stuff.
thats all I really have to write right now..hope all is goin well with evey1 else n their lil babies xo
Sunday, 27th of January 2008.
Had a bit of a scare this week..i had alot of pain in my lower tummy that jus woodnt go away! so i called my mum (of coarse!!) and she told me to call the hospital and see what they think. The midwife told me to come in and they will check me out (she was scared i was goin in2 labour! so was i!) When i was there they had a look around and i got to have an ultrasound..which was awesome! bub was jus sitting there...probably having a sleep not knowing how scared his mummy was at all!! Then i had some pain relief and jus stayed there 4 the rest of the day 4 observation.
In the end it turns out i have a syndrome were you get pain in ur womb 4 no particular reason at all..and it happens when you are or aren't preg. So i guess that explains the pain i used to get before aswell!
So now all is fine and happy again! My belly is getting bigger n im counting down the days...
Saturday, 1st of March 2008.
I guess i havent written on here in ages...nd i am sorry! not much has changed..ive gotten bigger n thats about it! at my last doc app she had a feel of my tummy n said there is no more room 4 my uterus 2 grow up. hmmm...so its all out from here! poor Isaiah..that means he has no room 2 play anymore! i must say i can feel pretty much all of his moves...some tiny and others that causes quite a bit of pain!! latly he has found 2 great new things he can do tho..rub his arms or legs against my ribs or hips..he loves it! the other thing is wen im in bed laying on my side he can push himself up by kicking his legs against the bed! it is funny 2 watch coz u can jus c his head bouncing up n down!
must say the only thing i have 2 complain bout is my feet! gah they always hurt...more of a burning! but nothing a cool foot spa cant fix!
Tuesday, 9th of April 2008.
I just have to say i am sorry that i dont write on here much! i havent had anything go seriously wrong or have much to complain about over the past month! which is a good thing because that means bub is all healthy and ok!
did have bit of a scare about a week ago though, his heart was racing at 205bpm! so i had to stay for observation. it all settled down in the end and the doctor let me go home as long as i didnt do to much and just rested. a few days later when i went to my check up with the midwife his heart was goin fast again, this time 198bpm. so yet again they took me down to the ward for observation. it settled down and i got to go home with the same reccomendations as last time.
the room we are moving into out the back is slowly getting put up. unfortunatly it wont be ready in time for when i have had Isaiah.
At the mment he is breech and that is concerning i guess because i have a small stomach cavity and he now has no room to turn around! meaning c/s is most probably the way im going to end up having him. i actually dont mind and i am starting to think it is a great idea!

8.6 hours ago When I was five hours old I stopped breathing and they said it was due to "wet lung syndrome" which was just from inhaling amniotic fluid during the birthing process. I wouldn't think that breastfeeding would cause your baby to stop breathing or cause any kind of complications as far as breathing goes, I've never heard of that before. If your son only wants to breastfeed that's great, that is the best thing for him and for your milk supply. Feed him whenever he is hungry which might be a little more frequently if he's not taking formula as it will take a little while for your supply to catch up because you were supplementing. If this doesn't make sense, or if you have any questions let me know!! Jo-Mama -
32.8 hours ago My baby has a freakishly strong neck and I was thinking that she'd be advanced with her motor skills. But I think that each skill is different and she might be quick to learn some and slow to learn others. kegley11 -

Thursday, 17 April that's too funny--I WON'T walk to China as it turns out I can fly! We also have loads of male Indian Drs but they are easy to avoid here if one wants too. In comparison to the UK, Australia and NZ's maternity/medical practices, the US is still in the dark ages. It's almost impossible to find a decent midwife and then if you do, all they are allowed to do is start you off in labor at home and then take you to the hospital where an actual Dr has to assist in the birth (usually if they have any rights at hospitals, it’s the worst community hospital one could dream of--at least in NY). So what's the point of a midwife if she can't do anything for you? The US treats pregnancy like a disease and even though we're a first world country we have more mothers and babies for birth related reasons then most third world countries! Anyway, excuse my little rant, but I do envy the availability of midwives in other countries that we just don't have! All this to say that my baby will be snipped out of me willy nilly on Sept 12 and I expect to be none the worse for wear! Good luck with your birth decisions and congratulations on your pregnancy! angelamouzakitis -
Thursday, 17 April Hi...regarding the C, I guess for the most part, not too bad. The recovery is MUCH hnarder, as all will tell you, after all, it is major surgery, but there are benefits: hospitals will keep you longer to make sure everything is okay (I am still in the hospital and starting to feel spoiled. ) you dont have to worry about the nether region getting damaged or stretched, and the delivery is fairly quick. Lots of drugs help...I'm pretty pleased with my outcome and am actually grateful fori now. And next time, it will be automatically scheduled. kegley11 -
Wednesday, 16 April well I had a check up with the midwife yesterday and I had really really high blood pressure so they sent me to the hospital and I had protein in my urine as well, and I have been having the odd headache here and there, so they are worried about pre-elcampsia, but I feel fine, I have to go back each day to have my bp checked, urine and blood tests so its a pain but oh well, I had a growth scan aswell 2day. But the babys absolutely fine his heartbeats good and moving lots but there just worried about me. They've given me blood pressure tablets to bring it down so fingers crossed. But he's head down which is good.
Glad to here ur ok, it sounds like ur coming round to the idea of a c-section. How exciting u may only have 2 weeks u lucky thing. xx jenim24 -
Wednesday, 16 April I saw your question about the c-section, but first let me say, we have the same 1st name picked out for our boys! Mine is going to be Isaiah Joseph (due May16th) I have another son (he's almost 13 now!) and he would not turn, so I had a c-section, and only 3 days before due date! (long story) all went well. I am choosing to go natural this time since my baby is in positiion. But better to plan, than do an emergency c-s. I've heard turning the baby can cause alot of trauma to the baby so make sure if you go that route, you are supervised. professorpreggers -
Wednesday, 16 April Hey there, I saw your c-section poll. Don't know if you're decideding between the two, but for what it's worth, I've done a ton of reading on the subject and I'm having an elected (had to switch to a younger doctor that graduated from med school in the last century) but she told me she would NEVER have another vaginal birth after her first child was born and snapped her tail bone in the process. She opted for a C-section with her second. Her friends from med school would make up lies that they had STDs so that the Dr would be forced to deliver them by c-section. It's our individual choice to do what we want (yay 21st century). The thing is, we don't have great Mid wives where we live, nor do they have many rights at all in the U.S. hospitals so while I'm sure that natural, quiet, assisted home birth would be the best possible experiance, I can't have one of those where I live. So, i'd rather know what's coming and just deal with it and be done. I know many women would think I'm crazy and that natural birth is the only way to do this "right" (my mother -in-law told me that I'm not concidered a real women if I don't give birth naturally) but it's not their decision, is it? Good luck! armywife -
Wednesday, 16 April i would do the c-section ... kegley11 -
Monday, 14 April Hi hun, how are u? Haven't spoken to u in a while. Not long now till ur little man is here, hope ur both well kel xx aniyahsmom2008 -
Friday, 11 April Thats exactly what the midwife said. I guess I just worry about things too much when it comes to her, being that this is my first! I go back in 2 weeks so, we will see if she decided to move yet, and I hope your c/s goes good!!! deniseday85 -
Thursday, 10 April I had my last baby at 37 weeks and she was just fine. When are you due? I am having another c-section too. girl-from-oz -
Monday, 7 April Hey fellow south aussian.
What a fantastic day today. Im 37 weeks on Wed, so I had my ob/Gyn appointment today. He tells me I have a healthy wieght baby thats just gonna get bigger! Last monday's scan at just under 36 weeks showed baby over 6lbs.
My finace Dan got really excited and said "do you think it'll be over 8lbs?" The Doc told him quite possibly it will be a big baby if I go full term.
Well, Dan was chuffed. When the Doc left the room I punched Dan in the arm. Its not exactly an exciting prospect for me having a massive baby!
Im too small!
Its funny though, I was under 7lbs, Dan was not much bigger, and now were gonna have a monster child.
Some of the girls in my week are already surpassing the 9lbs mark!
Can you believe that!
A lot are having scheduled C-section....now Im debating whether or not i should elect for one lol!
I hope things are good with ur PG.
I started getting terribly exhausted at your week. How u feeling? snowwhite5thbabe -
Sunday, 6 April Yes! If you want to try to turn baby, try the cat pose described on my page...my midwife told me about it...
God bless you and your little one! Momaem -
