This is my first baby....I just cant wait to meet him!
30/06 - We went for our 4d scan on Saturday. I couldnt sleep all night with excitement. I was amased by the pictures & our video blew my mind away. It was totally unreal how you can see the details of his little face and of course has started off the arguement of who he looks like which seems so wierd as we should be doing that when hes born! He is kicking very strongly now and sometimes it does feel ever so odd! He now does big stretches so i get it in the back as well as the front tummy lifting up. What a sensation. He is so responsive, if I leave my arm or hand on my tummy he kicks it almost straight away. I find myself saying sorry and moving my hand out the way as an automatic response then I think what am I doing? Sometimes I think hes saying hello and other times hes saying thats too heavy mum this is my space.

it must be frustrating with people calling to ask.. whenever I have friends who are due I tend to give an encouraging call or text but then just leave them alone.. after all, they'll call when the baby arrives!! I know people mean well and are just excited for you but I guess you just want some space and are frustrated with the wait too!!
They do start hearing at 5 months so we are being careful what we say!! It's funny to think when we first started corresponding you were around the stage I am now!! I'm glad you enjoyed the weather, it really was glorious!!
Plans for the birth so far are to have bubs in a midwife-led unit attached to a hospital so hoping for the least amount of intervention possible. would love a water birth or at least to spend time in a pool. We'll just have to see what happens, if I go too overdue or don't progress as planned then the hospital is right there and I'd be transfered. I guess having a plan is good but knowing that things don't always go to plan is important too!! All I want is for baby to be well, whichever way she/he chooses to come out!

Yeah I hate this waiting game, I dont even feel like im even close to having her, I only have mild contractions throughout the day, nothing serious. How about you, are you feeling much going on in there?? I swear if my doctor desided not to induce me, my baby would wait until Christmas to come out on her own! Good luck to you!!

progress!! let the countdown begin! i hope you go natural too. i kind of bugged them until they agreed to induce me =) plus my mother was late and had to be induced with all three of us and had 12 pound babies

caos yep! havent got a second to myself lol, i went overdue by 2 weeks with my last one, this one was 3 weeks early, so different, although just cause ur not yet effaced can change over night, a friend of mine was the same and went back the next day and her cervix had completley changed overnite and she went into labour that night, i bet ur partner darnt leave ur side! cant wait to see ur little bundle xx

i hope it happens for you soon love,you must be so fed up. lots of love and if nothing has happened by your next appointment ask for another sweep because when your body is ready it really does hurry the process up (i'm a little tipsey on champagne ,i hope its not obvious in my spelling lol) xxx

Sorry to hear they couldn't do the sweep but I guess these things are just so unpredictable! You could just suddenly start or not. I do hope you don't have to be induced, especially with your lovely natural birth plans. I just want you to have that gorgeous boy in your arms finally!!
We're enjoying bubba and very aware that she/he can hear now so wanting only positive energy and gentle voices! Would hate to make little one anxious or uncomfortable!

ok.got pains on friday evening after a sweep that morning-then the pains stopped! i was so upset! woke up on saturday morning around 6.30 with little contractions by 10.30 am i had to go to the delivery suite.i wanted an epidural but they had no time as i'd gone from 4 cm to 9 in under an hour! had gas and air and a straight forward vaginal birth with no tearing but omg it hurt!! mia had 2 knots in her cord and it was around her neck but thanks to the quick actions of the midwife she was delivered safely.she weighed in at 9lb 10 oz which isnt my biggest baby - but i felt it! every oz of it! thank you to everyone for their lovely comments and support and big hugs to you all,i've 'met' some wonderful ladies thanks to this site and its been a pleasure! i'm not doing the pregnancy thing again but what i am doing is a midwifery course! i'm baby bonkers. love and best wishes to you all - see you as soon as i get another 5 mins to myself ! lol xxx

:-) It must be a bit frustrating with all those questions!! I really hope it doesn't get to that point and you get the birth experience you want. Has your midwife suggested or done a 'stretch and sweep' (where they sweep around your membranes - apparently it can sometimes cause you to go into labour naturally if you're ready).
So sorry to hear about your brother-in law's baby... that must be so scary for them. I really hope he doesn't have serious side effects... gosh, it's like a parent's worst nightmare isn't it.. to get through the pregnancy and then face such a challenge...
All is well here. Mike felt the baby kick for the 1st time this morning! Can't believe I'm almost 19 weeks.. the half way point is almost within my grasp!

i've just been for a sweep,they can't induce me : ( i'm sure i told you about the fact my babies are the size of 6 month olds at birth and they don't want my c section scar to tear so... the midwife said that the sweep has worked (i'm not sure how she knows this,theres no blood or anything) so maybe, just maybe i'll be in labour tonight or tomorrow. i'm going to feed the little ones, send the bigger little one off to nursery and have a nap - sleep some of this loooooooooong day away. come on our babies!!! xxx

I know they say heartrate can tell baby's sex but apparently it's just an old wives tale. I believe 140bpm is meant to mean boy but I'm still thinking girl (especially after I peaked in the scan and didn't see any boy bits!!). Baby's movements can't be felt on the outside yet so it's just me and bubs for now! Can't wait for mike to feel it though! I'll definitely tape it when you can see it.. what a great idea!
