I won't get to find out the sex of the baby for about another month. Here are some websites I found that had gender predictions .
OR
Babyman=Boy
Childbirth.org=52% chance it will be a girl
Amazing pregnancy=60% chance it will be a girl
obfocus.com=boy
chinese gender prediction=girl.
I personally do not care if it is a boy or a girl as long as it's healthy. I have read that the chinese gender prediction is very accurate so it will be interesting to see

According to this website, I am 7 weeks pregnant today. I have my first Dr appt on Wednesday. I am excited and nervous. I am worried about finding out bad news but I'm trying to stay positive at the same time. My boyfriend and I have only told close friends and some family. We decided to wait until atleast the DR appointment to tell more people. I might wait until the end of the first trimester, I'm just not sure yet.
I've started getting nausea, no vomiting yet but constantly nauseous. I have found that sucking on sour candy helps a little with the nausea. I will post again after the DR. appt.
01/17/2007
I had my first Dr. appointment today and they did the usual exam and blood work. I won't get any of my lab results for about a week. I am a little dissapointed because I don't really know anything more than I did before the Dr. appointment.
The Dr. did an ultrasound but she couldn't really see anything but the sac and a small straight line that she said could be the fetus. She said that it could be because I had a empty bladder and she wasn't getting a good view. She said it's nothing to be concerned about. The Dr. dated me at 7 wks 2 days but I think I am only 6 weeks because I am pretty sure of the conception date of Dec. 6. If that is the case and I am only 6 weeks then maybe that is why we couldn't see the baby.
I don't have another appointment for 4 weeks so I guess thats 4 more weeks of worring.

I decided to tell my boss today. I wanted to tell him because I have told a couple of people in the office and was afraid people might start talking and I didn't want him to hear it through the grape vine.
He was really cool about it. He has a small child himself so he wished me the best and told me to get as much sleep as I can now because once the baby is here I won't get any sleep.
I have only told 3 people in the office but one of them informed me that they just couldn't keep the secert and had told one person. Another person I told, couldn't keep the secret either and told another supervisor. I guess 5 people I work with plus my boss know.
I know it's hard to keep a secret but I just wish these people would let me share the news to everyone when I am ready. I should've known that office gossip can be a big problem where I work.

Well today started off a little rough. I woke up sad and tired. This was not good for my boyfriend. He didn't do anything wrong but I couldn't stop giving him attitude. Everything he said or did annoyed me and I would make some kind of comment to him. I ended up in tears and then had to go to work. Before I left he gave me a big hug and told me he knows it's just the pregnancy talking and that he loves me very much. That helped a little.
During this pregnancy I have had a major food aversion to lasagna. Even typing that word makes me quesy. I don't understand why lasagna because I used to love it. Anyway, when I walked into work this morning the cafeteria was serving lasagna. I could smell it from the front doors. I have to walk by the cafeteria to get to my office, there is no way around it. All afternoon I was trying to breath through my mouth because I could still smell it sitting at my desk. I asked one of my co-workers who knows about the pregnancy if she could smell the lasagna and she couldn't. Thankfully the cafeteria closes at 2:30 so I didn't have to smell it for too long. (I don't come to work until 1:30)
Today has just been one of those days that I wish I could've stayed in bed. I'm extremely tired because I haven't been sleeping too good at night. I just can't get comfortable anymore. I am only 8 weeks so I don't know how I'm going to handle it when I get really big.
Well now that I have vented to people that understand what I'm going through, I feel a little better.
Thanks for listening!

Everything is still about the same for me. I'm still feeling naseous but haven't thrown up.
I already am unable to fit into most of my pants. I don't know if this is normal for only being 9 weeks, 10 weeks on Monday. My mom told me I should probably talk to the Dr. about it. I feel like i'm huge already but I don't want to start wearing maternity clothes this early. I do have to get some new clothes to wear to work though. Anybody else already out growing their regular clothes this early?
02/8/07
I put a picture of Kris and I up but this website sure makes us look funny. All well...
I am still sooooo tired. I can't wait to get over the tiredness, if I ever do. It is so hard for me to make it through a day of work because I want to sleep so much. I have my next Dr. appointment on the 15th and I'm hoping that I get to hear the heartbeat.
Not much else going on with me at this point, I will update after my Dr. appointment next week.
2/15/07
Well I just got back from my Dr. Appt. The appt was scheduled for 9:45 and it was at the hospital because my Dr. was on call. I got called in for my appt right away. I talked to the nurse and she told me the Dr. will be right in. Well about 10 minutes later the nurse came back and told me the Dr. just got a call to deliver a baby so it might be a while. At about 10:45 the nurse came back and told me they still haven't heard from the Dr. I asked her if I could reschedule the appt. The appt is now for tomorrow at 9:00 at the hospital again because she is on call tomorrow too. I'm so anxious for this appt because they will listen for the heartbeat. Hopfefully the Dr. won't have to deliver a baby while i'm there tomorrow.
I woke up today feeling pretty sick, I think I have a cold. I'm going to call in sick to work today so I can rest and sleep all day. My poor boyfriend was up all night because of me. I couldn't get comfortable and kept tossing and turning and I couldn't breath so when I did fall asleep he said I was snoring. When I woke up this morning he was sleeping on the couch. Hopefully I'll get feeling better so he doesn't get sick too.
I will update tomorrow after the appt.
2/16/07
Yay! We heard the heartbeat. It was 150 BPM and the Dr. said that was normal. She told me that my chance of miscarriage is pretty much gone so I can finally relax. I am excited because I can finally announce to everyone else that I am pregnant! My next Dr. visit they will do the test for down syndrome and spina bifida. Then 4 weeks after that they will do the ultrasound and I can find out the sex. I'm so excited! It feels good to finally be able to relax and hopefully start to enjoy the pregnancy.
3/13/07
I just got back from my Dr. appointment. I gained 9 lbs this past month. The Dr. wasn't concerned at all about it. It just seems like a lot of weight to gain in a month. We got to hear the heartbeat again. This time it was 158 bpm. It took the Dr. a while to find the heartbeat and it had me a little worried. The baby was moving like crazy, you could hear it in the doppler. It was really neat. They did the test for down syndrome today. They drew my blood and said I should hear something in 5-7 days. I'm really not too nervous about this test but I'm sure as it gets closer to finding out the results i'll be nervous.
I also got to schedule my ultrasound today. It is scheduled for April 11 at 10:30. Hopefully the baby cooperates because I want to find out the sex.
I've been pretty nauseous lately so the Dr. said I could try taking Flinstone vitamins. She said they give enough vitamins except for iron, so they will be checking my iron at my next visit.
I will update once i get the results of my bloodwork back.
I hope all you moms and moms to be are doing great. Until next time...
3/14/07
Just a quick update on the Flinstones vitamins. I started taking them last night and today I have not had any nausea. I think that was really the main cause of my nausea. Hopefully I continue to feel good through out the day because it is really nice not feeling sick. I haven't felt this way in 3 months.
Now, I just wish I could find a cure for the tiredness. I have been getting so much sleep but I still have a hard time getting through the day. I know it has a lot to do with the fact that I don't sleep good anymore at night. I want to shop for a king size mattress because my boyfriend is such a bed hog. I have been saving up money to cover my maternity leave because it is only covered at 60%, i'm half way tempted to dip into some of the money i've saved and get a mattress. It will definatly be worth it if I can sleep better at night.
Anyway, if any of you are still feeling sick I would recommend talking to your Dr. about trying Flinstones vitamins. For me, so far so good .
3/20/07
I got the results from my quad screen back today. Everything is perfectly normal!!! The Dr. said there is a 1 in 6900 chance that the baby has down syndrome and a 1 in 760 chance that the baby has spinal cord defects. YAY!
I just can't wait for April 11th to get here so I can find out the sex and see my little miracle. I hope all you mom's and mom's to be are doing great!!
3/25/07
I decided to rent a doppler to hear the baby's heart beat. I am renting it from bellybeats.com.
I just ordered it last night and it takes 3-5 business days to get here. I decided to rent it because i've been really paranoid lately. I was pretty sure I felt the baby move for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I haven't felt any movement in over a week now. So I decided to order it just to give me a piece of mind.
I am hoping the doppler works, I will update after I receive it. If anybody else has rented one of these, I would like to get any feedback you may have.
3/30/07
I received my doppler by Fed Ex today. That thing is sure nice to have. I got it this afternoon when I was home on my lunch break and I just had to try. I was able to hear the heartbeat right away. It was really cool.
I tried again when I got home from work and the baby just didn't want me to hear. I could hear it for about 10 seconds and then the baby would move and it would take me forever to find it again. I'm happy I got it though because it really gives me a piece of mind that the baby is ok.
04/11/07
We had our ultrasound today and found out we are having a boy!!! It was so exciting. I got to see my little guy moving all over the place. The Dr. said everything looks good! I am excited to start shopping and to get the nursery decorated.
5/9/07
We had a Dr. appointment today. I gained 11 pounds this past month. YIKES! The Dr. wasn't concerned because she said it's mostly water weight. My ankles and feet are really swollen and I can't wear my rings anymore. She said she isn't concerned because my blood pressure is perfect. She said it's just one of the discomforts of pregnancy. The baby's heart rate was 150 BPM which is good. I got the orange drink for my glucose test. I can drink anytime starting next week up til my next Dr. appointment in 4 weeks. I knew that I would have to do this eventually but I didn't think there would be so much of it to drink. It's 10 ounces of orange sugar. The Dr. said most people who like orange Crush soda like this drink. I hate orange soda! All well, i'm sure i'll get through it.
We made an appointment to meet the pediatrician that we have chosen. They recomend that you meet with them before the baby is born so that they can go over stuff with you before the baby. Our appointment is Aug 8. I was also told to sign up for birthing classes now. I called the hospital and they recomend you register now but the class isn't until July. They offer it on Saturdays from 9-3:30. I can't imagine what they all go over for 6 1/2 hours. It's $77.00 for couples so we are definatly going to do it.
So, both mommy and baby are healthy and doing well. I just need to watch my salt intake and cut back on processed foods in order to help with my water retention. Other than that, all is well. I hope all of you are doing well also!
6/2/07
I drank the orange drink and had my blood drawn for the glucose test today. I was so worried about it tasting awful but it was actually pretty good. It could because I haven't drank any soda throughout this pregnancy so a little carbonation tasted good. I will not get my results back until probably Wednesday as that is when I have my next prenatal appointment.
I can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of the 2nd trimester. The due date is just around the corner. I'm starting to get a little bit scared about the birth process. I am looking forward to maternity leave though. I am going to try to take 12 weeks off, that is if we can afford it. I found out that I get 6 weeks of leave at full pay and then another 6 weeks non paid but I can use any vacation time that I have. By the time I am ready to go on leave, I should have about 2 weeks of vacation saved. I will have 8 weeks of full pay but then I would like to take the other 4 weeks but that would be non paid. We have been trying to save money so hopefully no unexpected expenses occur because I should be able to do it.
I will update again on Wednesday after my Dr. appointment.
6/6/07
I had my Dr. appointment today. I gained 4 pounds this past month. I passed my 1 hour glucose test. Yay! I did get some bad news this time though. My blood pressue is high so the Dr. told me I could be at high risk of developing preeclampisa. I have to limit my salt intake and start eating healthier. I have to go back for a recheck on Monday and then probably again on Friday. That scared me pretty good so my boyfriend and I went out and bought a whole bunch of grocerys and I've been doing my best to eat healthier. I hope everything is ok on Monday. I've been so worried because this whole pregnancy has gone great up until now.
On the brighter side, the baby has been really active. I can feel him moving all the time. I've been able to see my stomache moving when he kicks. It so amazing! Kris has only felt him move a few times because as soon as he puts his hand on my belly, the baby stops kicking. He' already playing games with daddy.
I don't know much else, I wil post again on Monday. Take care everyone!
6/11/07
Went for a quick blood pressure and urine check this morning. My blood pressure is still a little high at 132 but there is no protein in my urine and I have lost 3 lbs since my last visit on 6/6/07. I didn't see a Dr. today, only the nurse. The nurse said she will be able to meet with my Dr. on Wed to discuss where to go from here. This is really scaring me as I've never had high blood pressure before. Hopefully everything will turn out ok.
06/21/07
I had another Dr. visit today. I didn't gain or lose any weight since my visit on 06/11/2007. The Dr. told me that everything is fine and I shouldn't worry about my blood pressue. My blood pressue was 142/74 and she said as long as the bottom number doesn't get in the high 80's then there really isn't too much to worry about. I go back in 2 weeks on 7/6/07.
I've been feeling pretty good. The heat is really starting to get to me. I love summer so much but the heat is making it hard for me to enjoy. Kris has been taking good care of me and i'm so thankful that I have him in my life because I don't know how I'd get through this alone.
I hope everyone else is doing good also!
7/6/07
Had a Dr. appointment today. My blood pressure is back to where it should be. My weight gain is awful though...some how I managed to put on 10 lbs since my last visit. I don't understand because I have really been watching what I eat. I'm sure alot of it is water weight...atleast thats my excuse. The Dr. didn't say anything about the weight gain so it must not be that big of a deal.
I did have a little scare today though. The Dr. asked if I have been feeling the baby move and I told her that some days I do and others not so much. The Dr. tried to feel the baby move and he didn't move but she was able to find is heart beat right away. She wanted me to have a non stress test done. I had to go back to the waiting room and wait for about 45 mins because they only had one machine and someone else was using it. Everything turned out ok with the test. He was moving and his heart rate was increasing with each movement as it should be. It is definatly a relief to know he is ok in there.
The Dr. also diagnosed me with a pregnancy related rash called PUPPS. I have it on my belly and my thighs. It itches like crazy and they said there is no cure that it will go away after delivery. She said she could prescribe me some medicine to help relieve the symptoms but I chose not to get it because it is a class "C" drug which means it could potentially be unsafe for the baby. I figured I only have about a month and half to go so I can handle some itching. I don't want to put the baby in danger when I've made it this far.
Next weekend, July 14th is our birthing class. I will update then.
07/26/2007
I guess I forgot to update after the birthing class. Our class was on July 14th from 9:00 - 3:00. It was a lot of information crammed into one day. I did learn some things but most of it I had already known due to tons of research and reading i've done through out this pregnancy. I have decided that I want to try for a natural birth but I don't know how long that will last once i'm actually in labor. I have no idea how bad the pain is really going to be, so I may change my mind about that.
I had another Dr. appointment today. The Dr. just went over the signs of labor and what to do if I think i'm in labor. I gained 8 lbs since my last visit which was about 3 weeks ago. Yikes! I need to slow down on the food! I'm going to have a lot of work to do once this baby is born, to lose all this weight. My blood pressure was normal, so that is good. The only thing I have going on is this darned PUPPPS rash. I don't know if any of you have it, but let me tell you it's not fun AT ALL! It's on my thighs, belly, lower back, and backs of my legs. It itches soooo bad and when I itch it it makes it itch more. The Dr. told me today to start taking Benadryl and using hydrocortisone cream. Basically i'm allergic to my own baby! From what i've found about PUPPPS is that about 70% of pregnant women who develop this rash are carrying boys. They think it's an allergic reaction to the male DNA. Crazy! It apparently goes away within 2 weeks after delivery.
My next Dr. appointment is in 2 weeks and they are going to do the strep B test and start checking my cervix to see if i'm dialating. The only available appointment they had is with the physicians assistant and I really don't like this lady. I hate the thought of her doing this exam but I figure I better get used to it because who knows how many people are going to be up in there while i'm in the hospital. I know that i'm not going to be able to pick and chose who can have a feel.
I got most of my paperwork completed for my maternity leave. I'm going to work right up until the day I go into labor so that I way I have more time with the baby. I'm going to take 12 weeks off of which 4 of those weeks are non-paid. We have been saving money like crazy since the day we found out we were having a baby so everything should work out fine.
This Saturday is my baby shower that my boyfriend's family is throwing for me. I'm excited and can't wait to see everyone and see what everyone picked out for the baby.
I guess I'm starting to ramble...I hope everyone is doing well. If you have or had PUPPPS rash please let me know how you handled it or are handling it. Until next time.
07/26/07
Had my 37 week appointment today. Dr. did the strep B test. That wasn't bad at all. I was a little nervous about it but it was nothing. She also checked my cervix to see if i'm dialiting and NOTHING! My baby doesn't want to come out! She said my cervix is hard and closed. Not good news for me. I have just been really uncomfortable and was really hoping for her to say i'm starting to dialate. Tomorrow I have to go and meet the pediatrician. It's a meet and greet session so he can answer any questions we may have before the baby is born. I also have an appointment with a pulmonary specialist because I've been having a hard time breathing at night. I'll wake up gasping for air. The Dr. just wants to make sure everything is ok because she said it kind of sounds like sleep apnea which isn't good for the baby. We'll see what happens.
8/22/07
Had another Dr. appointment. I'm still not dialated at all! I was dissapointed again! My blood pressure was 144/82 but the Dr. wasn't worried. I'm kind of worried about it but she said that I don't have protein in my urine and all that is swollen are my ankles. It makes me nervous though. My GBS test came back positive. That freaked me out but the Dr. assured me it's nothing gross or really anything to worry about. They will give me antiobiotics by IV during labor. Not looking forward to that but as long as my baby comes out healthy, i'll do anything. Well, my next appointment is scheduled for 8/31/07. I sure hope I don't make it that far. I'm really ready to have this baby. I'm not going to start complaining though because i'll go on and on. Good luck to everyone!
8/31/07
Had another Dr. appointment today. I am not dialated at all! My blood pressure was high so the Dr. sent me over to Labor and Delivery to have a NST and some blood work completed. Everything turned out fine and I was discharged about 3 hours later. The good thing is the Dr. told me that I need to stop working and go on maternity leave now due to high blood pressure. I was ok with that. I am taking 12 weeks off so I figure 1 week to rest and relax before the baby comes will be a good thing. I have another Dr. appointment on Wed. If my blood pressure is still high she will probably schedule a date to induce. She said she won't let me go past Sept 10th so either way I'll probably have a date made on Wednesday. I'm ready for this all to be over with. I can't wait to meet the little guy!
