SHE'S HERE!!! Jordan Leanne was born March 20! A little angel... :)

March 1

25 days left to go, and I'm so impatient! I feel my little one squirming around all the time. There is a knee or a heel or an elbow or something sharp that hangs out on my right side, as I feel it most of all. :) My mother is coming to town from across the country in a week and a half, to spend 6 weeks with me - so I'm looking forward to seeing her! But most of all I'm ready to see this little baby... I just can't wait!

December 29

So, 28 weeks - 88 days to go! And we made it through Christmas, all of the family chaos was mostly a pleasure. Had an awesome baby shower, with about 28 people there! A little early I think, but it will be at least a year before we make it back to Florida. Got LOTS of baby books, and LOTS of gift cards! I'm really excited to go to pottery barn kids and babies-r-us to get stuff for the little one! Everyone is constantly comparing my 28 week belly with my sister's belly 2 years ago, her son's due date was almost exactly the same as mine! And everyone's consensus is still that we are having a little boy... I sort of have my doubts about that, though I can't decide if it is because of my intuition telling me otherwise, or if its because I would like it to be otherwise?? :) Baby is moving an awful lot, just doesn't quit most of the time. I'm carrying so low, even though I'm not that huge yet, it can still be really uncomfortable. I got a maternity belt at the store, and it has provided some comfort on the days that I am spending a lot of time on my feet. I'm so excited for our baby to get here... more and more so every day!

December 19

Well, another month has passed - here I am 26 weeks today. I'm starting to get a little bit uncomfortable. I've had to buy size large maternity pants, and some shirts in large too - I think that the belly is taking over my body. :) It is harder to get my socks or shoes on... And shaving is becoming an issue too - I'm already shaving my bikini area blind - I should quit that, or I'm likely to cut myself! Baby is moving around a LOT. I almost always feel it really low down... Though it doesn't look like I'm carrying quite as low as it used to. I'm heading to Florida for Christmas, so tomorrow I get to spend 8 hours on an airplane... That will likely be extremely uncomfortable - but I'll manage, I'm so very excited to see my family! I am starting to get a little bored with the pregnancy... I'm ready for the little one to come on and get here - though I certainly don't want anything to happen prematurely, I'd just like for time to go by a little faster I guess!! Ah well, patience is a virtue...

November 14

What a fun morning... :) Stayed strong and didn't find out the gender, but had a ball looking at pictures of our munchkin! "It" was 8.5" long, and 15 oz! Had it's ankles crossed at one point, and did some kicking in the beginning, but by the time the technician started recording for the DVD, it was apparently nap time! The baby settled in, put it's little fist on it's forehead, and just settled down. We jiggled my tummy around, I got up and walked round a little bit, I flipped from one side to the other, but it just wanted to sleep! We did see it get the hiccups, very cute... :) But needless to say the DVD doesn't show much action. Little booger - it wiggled and squirmed and kicked and beat me up the entire rest of the day - but couldn't show off a little for the camera! :) We have a 3D ultrasound scheduled for January 2, absolutely can't wait for that!!

November 9

Woo Hoo! 20 weeks! Feels good to be halfway there... My baby is moving around like crazy! He/She is kicking more often than not it seems like. Had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and the midwife and I were cracking up laughing because she could hardly count for a heart rate with the doppler, the baby kept kicking it every time she tried to listen! Dub-dub, Dub-dub, THWACK, Dub-dub, Dub-dub, Dub-dub, THWACK... :) They have scheduled me an ultrasound for next Wednesday, and I CAN'T WAIT! It will be hard not to give in and ask what the sex is, but we are going to be strong... I'm more convinced than ever that we want a surprise. :) I'm getting more and more excited all the time - wish that I had a nursery to decorate. But we have just gotten started building on the addition to our house, so I have a few months yet to wait. Hurry up Wednesday!!

October 23

18 weeks tomorrow - and still haven't felt my little one move yet! I'm so anxious, I'll just lay still and concentrate really hard... but I can't feel it! Oh well, my time will come. Everyone who is due at the same time as me is finding out the gender of their babies! I'm still holding on to wanting the surprise, but I'm holding on by a thread... :) My husband is steadfast on this one though, he wants to wait - so I'll have to hold out! It's so great to hear everyone elses news though - I'll just have to live vicariously through the other mommies!

October 18

17 weeks! Woo Hoo! My husband may not make it much longer if he continues on with the "fattie" comments... He means to be cute and tease, but I still feel on the boundary - sometimes I look prego, others I just look fat. Either way, there is no denying that I'm not my usual thin self. :) I decided against the AFP test, and I've been worrying myself to death about it - but I'm over it now. 3 more weeks until the 20 week appointment, and soon after, my next ultrasound! I can't wait to see little lump again - I expect that he/she will look a bit more substantial this time!

October 7

Well, that showing belly I thought that I had seems to disapear every so often... I have to look at it all the time, hoping that it will grow... but usually I feel like it has shrunk! It gets bigger as the day goes on, which just makes me feel like it is really just fat, but i still have to check and see again, one more time... Hoping to see the dark line they talk about! I'm such a nutcase, I just can't calm down! I have the doctor's appointment tomorrow, and am expecting a doppler to arrive at the house today - to try and cool my nerves a bit... I wish I could not worry so much!

October 3

Okay, so 15 weeks! My belly is really starting to show now, I'm so excited! Have my next doctor's appointment a week from today, time for an AFP test... That makes me nervous, EVERYTHING makes me nervous anymore! I'm excited to hear the little lump's heartbeat again... And absolutely can't wait until 20 weeks to get the next ultrasound! Although... we don't want to know the sex of the little one - at least not at this point. All of that may be subject to change of course... :) It seems like time is DRAGGING! Having a little bit of a belly helps.

Ausust 28

Well, I almost don't know what to do with myself. I guess I'm a control freak - I'm an analyst for crying out loud - I want information LOTS of information - I NEED information - yet all I can do is WAIT!!!!! AAAAHHHRRRGGG!!!!!! I find my mind wandering from work all of the time. I need to plan! I have started probably 20 lists, of things I need to research so that I'll know what to buy for baby, of things I need to ask my midwife on each consecutive appointment, of possible names, etc. Yet all that I can do is continuously look over at my u/s picture on the bulletin board next to me, to remind myself that my little "lump" does really exist... Even though I don't feel like it at all yet. I wish I could just cool it - I'm making myself crazy! If I were able to have a drink, that would probably be the ticket :) but since I can't, I'll have to go home and slug back some more club soda and grapefruit juice and try to read something other than What to Expect or Girlfriends Guide... :)

AUGUST 27

WOW! Can't find a picture that doesn't smear my face around... Sorry I can't find one that works!

I am 9 weeks and 5 days pregnant. This is my second pregnancy, had one miscarriage about 4 years ago, at 7 weeks. My hubby and I have no other children other than our 1 year old weimaraner. Up until now, he has been enough!! :)

I have been scouring the internet on a daily basis, trying to find out if other pregnant women are going through the same things I am, and have finally decided that this is the best way to talk with folks about being pregnant - you know, with people who will actually CARE to hear about every little thing for the next 6 months... :)

I expected things to be different than they are... I expected to FEEL different... But I really don't! I have had an ultrasound, and saw a beating heart (183) and the nurse told me that everything looked great. So I shouldn't be worried, but I think that must be the one thing that I do have in common with most other pregnant ladies! I haven't had even an inkling of morning sickness (thank my luck stars). My BBs are fairly sore, and I have blue veins galore... I do feel bloated a lot of the time, and I look like I'm putting on weight, though I don't look pregnant, just chubbier than usual. I am more tired than usual, will get home from work and crash out from 6-8... But that's it. None of the other stuff I keep hearing about. I wish that I could just take a deep breath and relax, but I'm just plain paranoid! I'm hoping that keeping in touch with some other folks who are due around the same time will help. Plus I'm excited to make some friends! I hope that everyone is doing well, and having fun so far in their pregnancies. Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

Here are a few pictures. One of my current "baby"...

And one of my Baby To Be, affectionately named "Lump" - the ultrasound taken from 8 weeks 5 days.

Thanks for taking a gander at me! Hope to hear from you soon!!

That's great she is having so much fun at daycare! When I was in school I worked at a daycare partime! I always loved working in the nursery with the babies!!

Leah and I are doing good! We hang out at the house a lot! I am not much on going out if I don't need to! She loves going outside and looking at the trees in the backyard! I think she is going to like the outdoors!!! She is all about mommy right now! I think it's because I spend so much time with her! It's great!

It's funny to think back... Last year at this time I didn't even know I was pregnant! How time flies!! Are you thinking about having more in the future? I think we are going to wait about 2 years.

It was good talking to you! Keep me updated!

pugs242 - Thursday, 24 July

That's fine I understand!!! I wouldn't get on here that much but I stay at home and don't have anything better to do when Leah is sleeping! You must be so busy now that you are back to work. How is Jordan doing in daycare? How is she doing? Hope things are going great for your family!

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE. I USUALLY ONLY PUMP FOR LIKE 15MINS AND WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT PUMPING FOR 30 MINS AND EXPERIENCING 2 OR 3 LET DOWNS MAKES HEAPS OF SENSE. IM GOING TO TRY IT OUT. I GOT SOME FENUGREEK TABLETS AND I'VE BEEN TAKING THEM FOR A WEEK, BUT I HAVEN'T NOTICED A BIG DIFFERENCE, HOW LONG BEFORE THEY START WORKING? ANYWAY I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU HAD A BEAUTIFUL BELLY WHEN YOU WERE PREGNANT. I SEE YOUR LITTLE GIRL WAS BORN 2 DAYS AFTER MINE. I LOOVE THE B&W PHOTO OF THE 2 OF YOU, ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS !!!! IM ALSO PLANNING ON CHECKING OUT THAT WEBSITE YOU MENTIONED. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. BY THE WAY HOW MUCH MILK DO YOU GET APPROX WHEN YOU PUMP? I GET ABOUT 7 OUNCES WHEN I PUMP IN THE MORNING, AND THEN ONLY ABOUT 4 OUNCES AT EACH PUMPING (THAT'S FROM BOTH BREASTS TOTAL SO LIKE 2 OUNCES FROM EACH BREAST) AND ZOYA NEEDS LIKE 6-7 OUNCES THESE DAYS. LET ME KNOW, HUGS KINGA

yup, same problem, here too!!

laurapreggo - Sunday, 8 June
I honestly haven't seen a doctor about it... once I started drinking a TON of water, my stool was jusssst soft enough that it's bearable... I still bleed though... I'm hoping it'll go away on its own, but Martin was born the 19th of March, and there's still issues. It's getting better. There for a while I would have rathered pushed out my 9lb 8ounce son again than go to the bathroom... good luck with everything, I know how awful you're feeling. I'll be thinking about you if you do have to go have surgery, that would be awful, but if it fixes the problems, well, there's only so long you can live with the problems. Take care!

courtney - Sunday, 8 June
Congrats again on little Jordan... she's precious and so gorgeous... I am so sorry to hear of all your struggles with the bottom.. mine have healed.. some people get them worse than others.. my mom got them when she was delivering my brother, and said that she had "flare ups" every once and a while for a bit, but then it subsided.. I really don' t know to what extent mine were... it hurt there for about 4 weeks, but now im fine.. im still super tender where i got my stitches.. they said that mine was a really bad tear cause it j-hooked.. meaning it went down and then shot to the right towards my leg.. they said the tear itself wasnt bad but to get that type of tear is super painful in healing... they werent lying.... How is mommy life besides that? Im loving it... and cherishing sleep when I do get it.. Brodin for health reasons had to be switched to formula... (the hardest thing ive had to do) so now he's bottle fed, which has its perks.. but im super emotional about not being able to breastfeed ( my milk because of a bypass that I had isnt nutritious enough) But i did it for the first 5 weeks... at any rate i need to get going he's sleeping so im gonna go sleep too! keep in touch..

crabscanfly - Friday, 6 June
what kind of problems?

mtnwoman - Thursday, 5 June
Ditto to all of that!

mtnwoman - Thursday, 5 June
Got some good ones? I don't know that I want to take the fenugreek stuff. But other ideas would be great!

laurapreggo - Thursday, 5 June
If you mean by fanny problems, hemmeroids, bleeding and constipation, I'm there! I'm breastfeeding, so I think that might be where the constipation comes from... it's awful isn't it. I just doubled the amount of water I drink a day, and it seems to make things 'bearable' down below. I hope this helps :)

Hello! thought i'd have a nosey on ur page! i had my wee bundle of joy 19th march. How you findin things? x

cko1522 - Wednesday, 4 June
Thanks for all of the advice on reflux. I had to go back to work too. :( Isn't it aweful? Well, this week is much better than last week but still, wish I could stay at home. Or, wish my work had daycare. Wouldn't that be wonderful? We tried using the Enfamil A/R, and it helped him a ton, but it kept clumping and clogging the nipple, so a couple of days ago we switched to the regular Enfamil. So far so good. There is a little more spit up, but nothing like before. I hope our babies grow out of this soon. Anyway, I hope you have a great day.

cko1522 - Thursday, 8 May
Yes, my poor little man has got reflux too. We were started on Zantac, its been about a week and a half. I demanded som Prevacid because it appears most folks on this forum have had success with it. So, they gave me a script, but its capsules. The instructions say to dissolve it in 4 ml of water, but only give 2 ml to my son. But, the capsule doesn't dissolve all of the way, it clumps at the bottom. So, I talked to the pharmacist, and she said there is nothing they really can do, that they can't better control how much medicine gets in the syringe...anyway, I'm venting. I'm sticking with Zantac for the time-being. I'm hoping that helps. My son will be three months soon, so I figure I will start rice cereal to see if that helps. Although she is young, are they recommending rice cereal for your daughter? Man, reflux sucks. I feel so bad for our babies. My baby will be starving, but it hurts to eat. Then, if he eats, he barfs it back up. Its the saddest thing, I cry a lot these days. Anyway, I hope your girl gets better soon.

candensmommy - Wednesday, 30 April
Hi I just read your comment about mursing all the time... I would try hard to make her last as ong as possible between nursing like 1 and 1/2 or 2 just so you are able to fill back up, sounds like she is snacking and getting satisfied for a little bit but snacking won't fill her up for long... plus its just the fore milk which is low in calories and the hindmilk is more nutritious... anyways, try a pacifier because she could just be using you as a pacifier, my baby won't really take one from me but he will from my husband, I think its because he knows I got the boobies and thats the best so he won't settle for the paci... lol! hope this helps!! Good luck... by the way...our babies were born on the same day:)
