Tuesday, 24 June I was on a 5-hour plane ride with my shoes off. I couldn't really get up at all because it was a red-eye and everyone was sleeping. Anyway - when we landed and I went to put my sneakers back on I had to relace them completely because they wouldnt fit! And my socks were cutting into my feet. It sucked. They have kind of been swelled ever since. I don't have much chance to really put my feet UP but that's the way to alleviate it a bit. Even just sitting sideways on the couch with feet over the end helps a bit. Good luck but we may be stuck with it to the end! gianna -
Tuesday, 24 June Hi, try not to worry too much and put your feet up as much as possible. I have had swelling with my first two kids and with them it did turn out to be pre eclampsia, but not with my 3 so far. My legs are swollen and I can leave many indents all over them but the dr's say it's just fluid. So I would call you dr just to be safe and have your blood pressure checked. I hope things work out for you Good Luck. gigimuffin1 -
Tuesday, 24 June Please call your doctor. It may be nothing , but with my 1st pregnancy I did that and it turned out I had pre-eclampsia. I am not trying to scare you- it is just better to be safe. Good Luck gigimuffin1 -

Tuesday, 24 June Hey there I get swelling from time to time specially after a long day at work. My mother in law tells me to soak my feet in warmest water possible and pour some rubbing alchol in the water before soaking. This actually takes the swelling down and it takes the tension off mine. I've also heard eating bananas helps. I hope this works for you. firsttimmer08 -
Tuesday, 24 June I have been swelling since I was 23 weeks. My feet get unrecognizable at times. I have tried to cut back on salt, but everything has salt. I also stand on my feet a good bit at work, so that does not help either. When I am off from work, they go down alot, but they still hurt sooo bad. As soon as I step out of the bed, it feels like I just dropped 800 pounds onto my feet. Driving even makes them hurt. My doctor just said to keep them propped up as much as possible, and to drink a lot of water. The water does help, but you will be in the bathroom all day. I know this isn't much help, but know that you are not alone. Take care! agonzales -
Tuesday, 24 June About the swelling in the feet.. you should let your doctor know if it continues all day and for more than just that day. Swelling is common in pregnancy but it can also be a sign of pre-eclympsia. At least thats what my doctor has told me. If its just some times then you should be fine though. mamacakes -
Tuesday, 24 June i get the swelling also. Theres not too much you can do other then be very careful how much salt your taking in. The salt will cause you to retain water which in turn causes you to swell. I LOVE chips and snacks but i have had to stop eating them because of the sodium they contain and it has helped. Also...ice cream...is LOADED with salt. So i have had to cut way back on that. Hot dogs, kielbasa...all that good stuff is high in salt. Im sure once you start reading some labels and controling the amount of sodium you take in within a few days you will notice a difference in the swelling. I still swell, but its MUCH better now that i watch what i eat. I was kidding around with hubby saying who ever said pregnancy was an excuse to eat whatever you want? Not in my case! LOL I can eat whatever i want when im NOT prego...LOL lyg2008 -

Friday, 13 June Yep this is my first - a boy! Every weeknight (sometimes weekends but not always) my husband and I walk to get the mail. It's about 1/2 mile each way. So I guess that would be a mile 5 days a week. Very low key after work takes about 25 minutes. We are never in a rush or anything, but at least it keeps the blood flowing! I haven't had any problems with this pregnancy, no leg cramping or anything, so I like to think walking constantly has something to do with that! Plus I have a desk job so I am basically sitting inside all day and like to get fresh air at night!

Thursday, 12 June I have shortness of breath too. I have asthma really bad, but it isnt asthma attacks so I usually just take deep breaths occasionally and work through them. I walk everyday but keep to very level ground, the streets around our house. The other day we walked to a waterfall at a state park up a hill and it was way too much for me. So my advice is walk but stick to level grounds! judi -
Thursday, 12 June I ride my bike into town almost every day, which is about a 10 minute ride each way, with my little boy in a chair mounted on the back. I'm ALWAYS out of breath by the time I get close to home, and it's a good workout. I think any aerobic exercise is good. The shortness of breath could be because the baby is starting to push your insides up against your lungs - everything in there has less space now - so it's not something to be too concerned about. But if you get really tired, or hot, STOP. Listen to the cues from your body and make sure you drink heaps of water especially when you exercise. I've gained about 38 lbs already, so also trying to curb the eating! agonzales -
Thursday, 12 June They told me I have gestational diabetes and the diet they gave me was sorta like the akins diet. Watch the carbs and stay away from sugars.. sodas, candy and desserts of course. The doc also told me no fruit juice cause even though its healthy it has sugar. Fruits are good but not in the mornings cause you are more sensitive in the mornings but they are okay during the day for a snack. He also said any kind of meat is okay. Im worried cause they told me about the baby can be big and I just cried. My other kids were 6 pounders and I dont want no big baby lol. They have me using the blood sugar meter to check at home. Sux! I just cant wait to have this baby especially after finding this stuff out. Well good luck and I hope everything turns out fine. carly4bump -
Thursday, 12 June lilaj i think you just have to Eat a balanced diet, generally between 2,000-2,400 calories. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and fiber. Limit the amount of fat you eat. Eat adequate amounts of protein and low-fat dairy products. Avoid foods high in sugar. Eat moderate portions of food at each meal. Eat a bedtime snack with protein and a starchy food. Do not gain more than the recommended amount of weight during pregnancy. Keep a record of your food intake to help a dietitian or a doctor revise your nutritional needs. and excerise as much as you can xx

Friday, 2 May hi there! you are not 18, you are 20 weeks now! half way done! so don't worry! size doesn't matter! :)) we know that! my doc told me the higher mother is the smallest belly she has! so if you are not so high for sure your belly if seams bigger! optical illusion! if not.. for sure you have amniotic fluid in exces! enjoy your preg! kisses judi -
Friday, 2 May I've been "big for dates" with all 6 pregnancies! With me, it's hydroamniosis or something like that. Just means there's more than enough amnionic fluid around the baby, and although it can be a nuisance for mother, it's beneficial to the little one, because it means he/she has more room to move! Don't sweat it. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy. :) rojonah -

Friday, 2 May People make those comments to me all the time too... "You are so big", "are you due next month", "twins", "you're going to have a big baby"... What is wrong with people?! I don't think I'm that big.
