Here's My Story:My name is Christin and this is will be my first baby! I have been with my fiance Jeffrey for 4 years. We found out I was pregnant in December and we can't wait for him to get here! My due date is August 22nd, but he might come early because of cerivcal problems. Everything has been great so far he already weighes 5lbs 10oz as of 34 weeks! I got a 3d ultrasound done and he looks just like his daddy! I will got another one done and he is so cute and you see him better now that he has more fat. My sugar test came back great I scored a 89! My cervix moved 8 places in 3 weeks and now Im totally effaced. So the doc said it shouldnt be too long now! He said most likely the beginning of August but hopefully a little sooner b/c now I have PUPPPS. Which is this itchy rash/hives you get around 34 week, and it doesnt go away until the baby is born. The high risk doctor said he is great and since he will prob come soon I dont have to see him anymore! Im going to miss going there since I get to see me baby every time=( I cant belive its almost here I feel like I have been prego forever, but I think Im going to miss him moving in my belly=( Next doc on Monday so maybe she will have good new! Waiting for that full moon maybe he will come out then!

Monday, 30 June yeah no problem. I just read that in one of the books that I have. Dont worry through-- even if your baby is born now, he will probably be just fine. Good luck! kathy24 -
Monday, 30 June Hey there, I have been getting those sharp shooting pains thru the vagional are for several weeks now, I asked my doctor about it at my last appt and she said its liagament stretching and that the baby is head down towards the pelvic area now and thats why the pain is in the vagional area! Monday, 30 June Hey-- so aching pain is just ligaments stretching-- however, sharp shooting pain might be a sign that your cervix is dilating slightly. kristinjazz -
Sunday, 29 June Hey!
How are you hanging in there? I hope you are taking it easy
I like El-Azheem but I agree he doesn't really explain much into details. The first time I went I hardly asked anything, now I keep asking questions even if I sound dumb. I go at 7 am too and get out much quicker. I think he has a bit more time and doesn't feel as rushed then...
I'm having a baby shower Aug 10 for friends and family and then another one for all the ladies/girls that I ride horses with. I'm excited. I'm going to order the nursery furniture here real soon too. I feel like I haven't done anything! Well we are off to a dinner. Talk later!

Friday, 27 June I totally agree! I know I would feel almost cheated if I gave birth early and couldn't take our baby home - after all this time. Getting them to 5 1/2 lbs would be ideal.
If your cervix is still closed I wouldn't be super worried. It is confusing - the difference between dilation and effacement - I'm not sure I fully understand. Dilation is the 'opening' and effacement is the 'thinning.' Hang in there! Even if you were dilated AND effaced...getting to the point of labor could take weeks. I have a friend that is due four weeks a head of us. She is dilated 1cm and 70% effaced and her doctors think she will go full term. Luckily your appt is Tuesday, take the weekend to relax (I plan on doing the same
). Just ask a lot of questions. Let me know what they say! kristinjazz -
Friday, 27 June Hey!
I'm sure you've been going crazy these past days sitting on your bum - I can so relate to how you are feeling... If I get put on bed rest I will not be a happy camper!! Just remember its temporary and life will go on just fine with a messy house but your baby is going to have a tough time coming out at 4 pounds...but believe me, I would be totally cranky and complaining to everyone if I got put on bed rest...
He measured 1 pound 11 oz today...and all his measurements put me at almost 26 weeks rather than 24... everything has measured big for 3 visits now so I think its safe to say I'm further along than they are giving me credit for...cervixmeasured 28ish again (less than last time but same as first exam) but he said there is less pressure on it than before... I got another non-stress test and no contractions. I go back in 3 weeks. glad your shower went well, thats so exciting..even tho you had your stuff. Well I hope you are behaving and laying down
Talk soon!

Thursday, 26 June I know! Sometimes I can't understand their slang...it's funny though.
I think the last time I was at the doc, my cervix measured 2.4 and 1.7 (with pressure). Maybe they thought, for me, that this was good. I was on bedrest at around 24 weeks b/c of cramping. Luckily, it was only a week. However, I remember them wanting me to get to 32 weeks until I was 'safe'. Maybe since I've made it this far and am not dilated they were happy.
I wouldn't worry. I can't imagine you having your baby by July 1st (that's Tuesday!!) if you're not even dilated. Were they saying that you were dilated? morrismama -
Thursday, 26 June PS. Do you live in Youngstown, OH? I'm in Columbus! morrismama -
Thursday, 26 June when they say 27 and 19 what the really mean is 2.7 and 1.9 - I think they measure in millimeters. As you progress through pregnancy your cervix gets 'thinner.' Then you dilate. So think of the 2.7 and 1.9 as a 'positive' number and when you dilate it's more of a 'negative' number. I'm no doctor but I have an incompetent cervix and they've been measuring mine every two weeks through out my whole pregnancy. I've asked a lot of questions. The last time I was there...mine measured about the same as yours. Looks like we're on the right track. Hope this helps :-) kristinjazz -
Wednesday, 18 June Hey!
How did it go at the doc? How are you feeling? Everything still intact?
I went last week and my cervix got longer - woo hoo! So it must have been the riding... They did notice some contraction activity but since its not affecting the cervix I'm ok! They kept me on all the restrictions still but oh well.He is measuring very big for how far along they say I am. I told them along time ago that they had it wrong but they didn't change my due date. Alld of his measurements and weight put him 2 weeks ahead of what he should be. I go back to the high risk the 26th and reg OB july 10th. They said I'll schedule my sugar test then. Did you eat anything before you got your test? Some people say don't eat anything with sugar that morning... Oh, I put a new pic of Hayden and I on here - both at what they say 21.5 weeks and I say closer to 23! You are about due for some new pics too!!
Have a good night and keep me posted!
Kris

Thursday, 12 June I read that they say your baby is big... After my last ultrasound (20 wks) the doctor asked if I smoked, then when I told him no he laughed and suggested I start "cause you are having one big baby boy!" But I can't get him to guess the size or at least to TELL me. Maybe they will tell me when I go for the 3d ultrasound. Big baby boys!

Wednesday, 11 June Hey!
How are you doing?? Everything still going ok? When's your next appt? We go tomorrow to get the update on my cervix - cross your fingers! I've been feeling good other than some annoying swelly ankles
We picked the colors out for the nursery and I think we found the furniture, but thats as far as we've gone. I'm not sure why I'm kinda slacking in that department... I still have to work on my registry - not finished yet. What are you thinking about as far as breast pumps go? Are you going to purchase one or you planning on formula? i'd like to breastfeed but also pump and bottle so I can let Jazz feed and possible leave the house for more than 2 hours
Talk to you later,
Kris

Thursday, 5 June Hey!
How are you feeling? I'm very excited! My hubby just felt a kick - so far they haven't been strong enough but now they are! I think its so great cause it makes it even more real to him...
It sounds like you've been through alot 'down there' I'm so happy that everything is going good! I'm sure that every week that goes by makes you a bit more happier and comfortable since you think he'll be coming early... I hope your right too about the dilating quicker (faster labor)! That would be great! You'll have to keep me posted on that! Did you go to the dr today?
Talk soon!

Wednesday, 4 June My baby weighed in at 3.3 pounds yesterday and is in the 75th percentile already! Cheers to big babies!! :-) As long as they are healthy, right?! mommynicolem -
Tuesday, 3 June Well, there's no telling what a doc will say. Some are hard core on everything, others realize that you can't deny yourself of EVERYTHING during pregnancy.
