Hiya!

I'm Beth, my husband is Wynn. I teach at a private college and am an opera singer (although I closed my last show in February and don't plan on doing another one until well after Gracie is here). My husband works in computer technology. However, when he tries to explain to me what he actually does my brain shuts down.

We are both really into tattoos, books, thai food, good music, movies, God, cars, politics and educating the public on pitbulls. However not necessarily in that order.

We got married in August and were pregnant by September! We're having a little girl named Catherine Grace (Gracie) and couldn't be more thrilled!!!!

We have been so absolutely blessed, especially with the sheer volume of couples who spend thousands of dollars trying to get pregnant. God has smiled upon us! He not only brought us together at the perfect time but He also saw fit to add another life to our family.

"God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world." -C.S. Lewis

Pregnancy Survey
About You
Name?:Beth
Age?:29
Height?:5'9"
About The Father
Name?:Wynn
Age?:33
Height?:6'2"
Are you still together?:happily hitched
About Your Pregnancy
Is this your first pregnancy?:Yep
When did you find out you were pregnant?:Don't have my planner from last year with me but it was the DAY my period was due back in October. I absolutely knew.
Was it planned?:We like to say that we weren't NOT trying if you get my drift. Just kind of threw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may.
What was your first reaction?:sitting on the edge of the tub: 'oh my gosh oh my gosh what have we done I'm not ready holy s**t holy s**t take it back!' then after a couple of deep breaths I was completely floored.
Who was with you when you found out?:alone in the bathroom
Who was the first person you told?:Wynn
How did your parents react?:They are both suuuuper excited
How far along are you?:19 weeks 1 day
What was your first symptom?:sliiiiightly sore boobs, weird cramps. Like I said before I just knew even before my period was late.
What is your due date?:June 10 2008 but I'm hoping she'll either come on Wynns birthday, June 5 or on Friday the 13th (which is also my father-in-laws birthday)!!! How rad would that be?
Do you know the sex of the baby?:

A GIRL! A rad little girl named Gracie!!!

If so, what is it?:see above
Have you picked out names?:clearly, yes
If so, what are they?:Catherine Grace and if it had been a boy William Henry and we'd call him either Henry or Hank.
How much weight have you gained?:none yet but I'm eating healthier than pre-pregnancy and still working out just as much
Do you have stretch marks?:nope! But my mama doesn't either so genetically I'm in good shape.
Have you felt the baby move?:YES! She's doing wicked karate kicks in there or something and I poke back when she pokes.
Have you heard the heartbeat?:Yes many times! I have to go every other week until 22 weeks to have my cervix measured via U/S because of a previous surgery so I get to see her and hear the heartbeat all the time. Plus we have so many more pictures than other expecting mamas. It rules.
About the birth
Will you keep the baby?:LORD yes!!!
Home or hospital birth?:Hospital all the way
Natural or medicated birth?:Natural. Possible (albeit a very small chance) complications from the epidural scare me more than the pain.
Who will be in the delivery room with you?:Wynn and my mama
Will you breastfeed?:I really hope so. It seems like so many of my friends who have had babies have had such a hard time with it (ie: milk not coming in, baby not latching on at all or incorrectly, etc)
Do you think you'll need a c-section?:I'm praying I won't. I've got some hips but Wynn has a big ole melon head and we were both over 9 lbs at birth. I've witnessed friends go through c-section recovery and it does NOT look like something I'd like to experience.
Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time?:Like Niagra Falls
What's the first thing you might say to him/her?:I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you
Would you let someone videotape the birth?:maybe shots of me from the waist up but no filming of the groceries.
Are you excited about the birth, or scared?:I'm very, very excited.

LOL!! I painted my toe nails the other day, forgetting I am HUGE and unable to bend over, so it was really uncomfortbale!! I am pretty sure before I have this baby I will be going to get a pedicure, even though I went to school for hair and nails, I jsut can't go through the pain again!! It is so funny all the little things that are so hard when you have a bowling ball in your belly!~ HA ha thanks for making me laugh!

HDugan26 - Saturday, 1 Mar
Hey Beth~ Were you by chance at North Point mall today? It was so funny that I saw someone today in the mall that I knew I recognized but couldn't put together where I knew them from. And then I logged on and realized this person looked just like you! Just thought I'd check! That would be funny!

Hey There! I came across your page and wanted to tell you congratulations! I hope you and your baby girl are both doing well. I had to comment on your gorgeous dog Fresno! We have 2 pits, Porsche' is an Amstaff and Elvis is an American Pit they were our first 2 babies and continue to be spoiled rotten. I have pics of them in my photo section. Congrats again!!!!!

erica93 - Tuesday, 26 Feb
our bedroom is on the first floor too. I don't know how I will handle it when the baby moves upstairs alone after a few months...hopefully I won't freak too much!

pixiekate - Tuesday, 26 Feb
i saw your comment in week 24, and i'm right there with you. i don't even have a nursery to set the baby's things up in! the more simple the better i guess. i don't know why everyone goes to all the fuss over the nurery when the baby is clueless to it anyway. i've received a few gifts, but haven't bought anything either. i feel happy i'm not freaking out too:-). take care! xoxo

thebigtomato - Monday, 25 Feb
I don't think there's anything wrong with waiting to set up the nursery. I'm just so excited I can't help myself! And, this is painful for me to admit, but even with a registry I worry that people won't buy exactly what I want for my shower so I wanted to make all of the 'important' purchases (furniture, car seat, stroller, play yard, etc) on my own... I know it's awful!

Awe, thank you so much!

I looove tattoos. After Ryllie is born, I wanna get one for him but I don't know what yet. I mean, he'll always be a part of me and everything.

Opera singer, WOAH!! That's so sweet and I love the tat on your tummy!! (o:

nmck - Friday, 22 Feb
We did the same thing. We didn't register for a bed set. I bought a quilt from Target to hang on the wall, and just registered for sheets and a dust ruffle!

missygirl - Friday, 15 Feb
We are not allowed sex due to low lying placenta...be happy you can have it at all!! ha, I'd do anything for some nookie!!

knockoutmom - Tuesday, 12 Feb
awww really? i never really thought of it being her hands and arms instead of her legs. thats cute to think of. then again that means we're gonna be getting the ribcage kicks pretty hardcore soon! ouch. i think i just might count this 'low feeling' thing as a blessing for now! im sure once the rib kicks come ill be wishing she was still low! i love the babys name by the way. we're naming our girly riley. its going by so fast!!

Ang1stbaby - Tuesday, 5 Feb
Hi, I live in Fayetteville, Ga. Truly, a Missisippi girl but my husband moved here from Cleveland, Ohio when he was 12 and I thought Ga would be a better spot to live than cold Ohio!! Loving Fayetteville. I grew up with Pits. Everyone gives them a bad rap but they are really sweet dogs if not abused and made to do bad things. I gave the ones we had every reason to bite me and it never happened. I was a child without any siblings so I had to have someone to play with!! LOL!! I rode them, pulled their nubby tails and ears. I'm also having a little girl and naming her Hannah Grace! I'm due on June 16th. Good luck!!!

nmck - Wednesday, 30 Jan
It may be TMI, but thanks for sharing! I had a similar experience with feeling painfully bloated that last for almost 8 hours. I have never had it stay stuck in one place so long! At least I know it is normal!!

velvette - Thursday, 24 Jan
Wow its my first time seeing your page...I love your page..it just encouraged me with my relationship with God. I also LOVE pitbulls (we have 3 and rescued 2) ha ha!! Good luck with the 'waddle' ha ha!!

julieoolie - Friday, 18 Jan
I totally agree, getting to see the baby all the time is wonderful. It's very reassuring to see that the baby is doing what it should be doing!! I love your pit bull. We don't have one but our friends do it's name is Puppy Dog and it's wonderful!!! I'm glad everything is going well and i hope it continues to go well right up till the end!! We find out on monday what we're having, i'm waaayyy excited!

DianaC86 - Tuesday, 15 Jan
aww I'm glad to see another pitt lover.. There are so many stupid people out.. grrr gets me pissed off just thinking about them. She is probably the best dog in the whole world.. we had her since she was a puppy and were a little afarid of what she would do when the baby finally came home.. well she really didn't mind what so ever, the first day she was curious about what the hey is this thing.. but then she was just like ok, as long as you too are happy about then i'm happy.. she come and sniffs her and licks her then goes to find her bone.. chloe (our dog) is actually protective of her.. b/c when our daughter crys she is always the first one to go investigate.. then she will just lay under the swing or by her bed.. until one of us gets up and makes her stop crying.. it's really cute. Congratulations by the way... When do you find out what your having??

tarste - Tuesday, 15 Jan
He's gorgeous! Looks so happy! It's sad this breed gets such a bad name, we had a pitbull and she was the most gentle, sooky pitbull i've ever known!! She was bestfriends with our Shihtzu. U gotta always be alert with dogs and small kids but i think it's great kids grow up with them.

HDugan26 - Tuesday, 15 Jan
She was at NE GA Med. She just really loved the private attention! There were only 2 other babies in the nursery while she was there if that tells you anything! I am heading to Northside in Atlanta, and pray that I don't take after my mother who evidently had both my brother and I in under 2 hours! Wow! How far of a drive is that for you? Do you still perform anywhere? What an amazing talent! I was actually in a band in college (yeah who wasn't) and a majored in theater and dance at UGA for a while, until I realized there was no way in hell I would ever want to move to NYC or LA! Major love of improv and musicals. Try to get out to the 'garage' as often as I can...which isn't a lot right now! Anyway, so great to find a neighbor here!

HDugan26 - Tuesday, 15 Jan
I've actually heard really good things about them too! My girlfriend was there over a year ago and had a great experience! A lot of personal attention, which is awesome! Where are you teaching? Are you teaching voice?

HDugan26 - Tuesday, 15 Jan
Thank you! We are pretty excited! I had this deep feeling the whole time it was a boy, and am so glad! I actually work in Alpharetta! Can't believe you know where Holly Springs is! We moved out here a few years ago and love it! Our first born is a chocolate lab that's just over a year old! Saw you guys love Pits..they are such sweet dogs! I hate that they are too often bred and raised for the wrong reasons! They are such lovers! How's your pregnancy going? We are also due on the same day! Are you going to Northside?

~*GardenMommy*~ - Friday, 11 Jan
I love what you said 'After we got hitched', $81 is better than 18k, lol. That made me laugh. But anyway, congrat on the marriage & the growing baby. I wish you many blessings this year, espicially with the baby. Good Luck
;-}

missygirl - Friday, 11 Jan
