My mother (mother of 4) taught me to take the pacifer and kind of tickle the roof of the baby's mouth. This is supposed to trigger th sucking reflex. With both of my babies she would do this and then hold the pacifer in the mouth for a little bit. Both of my babies were sucking them before they left the hospital. My first quit at four months when I bought the bigger nipple size. It was the perfect time to quit. The baby now sucks on one maybe twice a day.

My son got really bad blisters when i was breastfeeding him.. doctor said it was normal and suggested i use vasalien on his lips i put a little on my nipple as well, or nipple shield.. so his lips would slide easier... hope that helps.

How Cute!! To get him to eat for longer period take their clothes off, or tickle their feet, when i want him to suck i also lightly pinch his cheecks and make a sucking sound, try some of those. Good luck, also pump to help you get more of a milk supply built up, then it will come out faster when he does eat.

Hi Lin- My peditrician told us to give the baby a pacifer. She said some babies need to suck to soothe themselves. It has not gotten in the way of breastfeeding and somedays she sits and sucks on her pacifer for awhle.

Congrats on your little bundle. So did the doctor talk to you about the club feet?? Is it an easy fix? My first child was born with an extra toe/had extra bone in his foot also for the toe. We got that removed when he was 9 months old. Now about 22 weeks prego with a girl we find out that she has an extra toe on each foot. Crazy isn't it?? But at least there is nothing else wrong, you know what i mean. Nothing major. Well congrats and i hope that you feel better soon.

He is soo cute!! I was wondering if they linked his feet to anything else. Hopefully they will straighten out. He is perfect. Congrats, and may God bless you and your family always. Thank you so much for being a source of support for me. You and all of the ladies here have been terriffic. I am going to the beach on wed 9-19, and letting go some ballons for my little angel to honor his life. I also will be taking a pregnancy test that morning! Keep your fingers crossed for me.
