Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

I could relate to u bout the weight gain...on mylast week appointnment i was surprised when I heard my doctor said "wow u gained 5pounds in 1week" it's really surprising cuz whether I eat or not I still gain some weight and last week was the worst ...well tomorrow is another doc appointment for meeh & I wont be surprised if they tell me I gained another 5 pounds.. anyway there's only a few weeks more left so let's just stay positive spite the weight issue... goodluck!

that is cool that you get to see your " little man" every few weeks on U.S, sucks that it has to be for a medical reason though. that is good that he is more nomral sized now. yeah, I'm getting induced by week 38 if i haven't had him yet, but doctor doesn't think I'll make it to then, too much pressure on my uterus. Hey, I was wondering why you are having to have NST's done.... I have to have them every Monday and Thursday. I had a day where my little man didn't want his heart rate to go up either when he made big movements. Got buzzed and then he went crazy for a few minutes. I have 3 times the amount of fluid , that is why I have the NST's done. Well I hope everything is going great for you.

YEAH. WELL MY DR IS ON VACATION AND DOESNT KNOW THAT MY BABY IS WEIGHING IN AT 7LBS 10 OZ RIGHT NOW AT 36W 3D. HE'LL BE BACK ON NEXT WEEK WED. I'LL ALREADY BE 37W3D SO I'M GOING TO ASK IF HE COULD INDUCE BEING THAT BABY IS ALREADY CONSIDERED FULL TERM. IF I GO TO MY DUE DATE SHE'LL PROBABLY BE BETWEEN 9-10LBS ESPECIALLY WITH THE GESTATIONAL DIABETES. SO I'LL FIND OUT FOR SURE IN 1 WEEK. THNAK YOU AND CONGRATS ON YOUR PREGNANCY.

well i dont feel so bad. I also had an ultrasound today and baby was 7lb 10 oz the dr said that she was above average for her weight. we also have the same due dates.

Hi I read your comment about taking BP at home. It is because a lot of home machines can become uncalibrated causing a much higher reading. My daughter has been playing with ours and I have to get it recalibrated in order to get an accurate reading. My BP has been fine so I'm not worried about it. You are so close, you can always call your doctor or go to your local fire station to get your vitals checked. That would be the best thing to do.

she does the same thing, they have the hardest time finding her heart beat. i don't even get worried because i know she is ok i feel her moving all around like she is trying to get away from the monitor. when she has a s/g she puts her left hand in front of her face as if to say "no picturs please" she is my little movies star. sometimes i wonder if she can tell that we are looking at her, i know sounds a little crazy. LOL

i am having to have the NST's done 2 times a week..... I lay on my left side when I do them. the second one i had done, i was sitting almost up right, and he wasn't moving much and his heart rate wasn't all that high... and they gave me juice and i laid on my side, and little man when nuts for a long time, haha... but try laying on your side if your not already.

i always found that if i went into take a test and ate a piece of dark chocolate my baby seems to be very active. i would eat a piece of chocolate 20 min prior to the testing if i were u to see if it works. the sugar seems to wake them up for a lilo while.

Try a little oj or apple juice or something sweet. When I went for my U/S she was not moving at all. I didn't think any thing of it at first cause she really did move that much during the day; at least she didn’t until this week. The tech got the doctor. The dr. told me they wanted to do a non stress test on the baby which freaked me out. When they put the monitor to check her movement every thing was fine by that time she was moving all around. of course the tech had me eat some M&M’s (which I did gladly) so by then she was jumping all over the place. My suggestion to you is this. You know how much he moves or doesn’t move, try not to worry about what he does when you go to the doctor. Trust me I know it is hard but you have to not worry yourself, remember the baby feels that. My DH has come to the conclusion that she hates doctors because once they start check her out she stays still. And even now can hide so they have a bit of a hard time finding her heart beat. I know she is ok because I feel her inside moving all around. The worry still sets in but I know she is ok. You have to remember that about your little boy, he is just being stubborn. He just doesn’t like the Doctors. Good luck with your next visit.

Hi I checked what the nst does because my doctor tells me I have to do one once a week because of high bp. It measures your babys heart rate durring movements. I think the regular fetal monitering measures contractions and heart rate. Please let me know how it goes. My doctor keeps telling me I might have to have meds or deliver early. Like that helps my blood pressure. Good Luck

No bedrest for me. Just a lot of pressure and a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. Sorry to hear you have hypertension. Hopefully, the bedrest will help to bring that down.
