My beautiful Emily Rose

Big ole belly shots

4o weeks, 2 days and none to0 thrilled about THAT

37 weeks!

28 weeks!!!!!!!

19w 6 days! Our "big u/s" was perfect! Belly shot to celebrate:

WOW!!!! FINALLY!!!!

Pg with #2 after three consecutive losses in a year. EDD 5/10/08, and it's a GIRL!

Had my CVS 10/19, what a blessing...46 chromos!!!

17 w now: I'm feeling her!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, 19 Dec

My 'big' u/s is tomorrow, 12/10 at 10:30. I hope everything looks good in there!!!! I am slightly nervous, it will be a relief to have it done.

Saturday, 22 Dec
20 weeks! Everything on the u/s was PERFECT! Yay!!!! we are half baked!

Monday, 28 Jan
I haven`t updated in so long. I `m 25 weeks now! This baby moves like CRAZY and I LOVE it. I miss it when she`s quiet. This pregnancy is just flying by...and it`s been perfect. I`ve had four colds, the stomach virus (hell!), and a bad fall that injured my tailbone. But the pregnancy itself couldn`t be more routine, thank god thank god. I can`t believe we`re almost only three months from meeting her. So much to do, so little time. Time to take a big ole belly pic soon. I haven`t done one since 19w!

Sunday, 10 Feb
THIRD TRIMESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!!!!!

Friday, 22 Feb
I passed my glucose test! YAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOO!I got a 61, with normal range being 65-130. What a relief!

Friday, 7 Mar

I can `t believe I `ll be 31 weeks tomorrow. Had a 3d/4d u/s but little baby girl would not show her face, she was too busy sucking her thumb, fingers and holding her arms over her face. I will go back in two weeks to try again.

UPDATE 3/20/08 Happy Spring!

Went back for another 3D/4D U/S, and the baby still wasn't very cooperative. She is head down though!

Well, I'm 32 weeks 5 days...coming into the home stretch. I'm feeling pretty good, although I am not happy about the prospect of NST's twice weekly for the duration of my pregnancy. I think that's just insane, but it's the protocol for a 40+ preggo. On the upside, at least I'll get to have some good indicators all the time that all is well in there.

Also, I am counting the days until the end of tax season. Working at night at 8 months pregnant has been a real challenge. Oh, and she's head down! I'm praying that I can have the same quick, drug-free epi-free birth that I did with my daughter. And I went into labor in the 38th week...hoping for a repeat performance!

BIG UPDATE: 4/11/08 (36 wks tomorrow):

I AM 80% EFFACED & 1 CM DILATED, STATION

-1 ! Could be another week...or two...we'll see! Emily was born 38w 5 d. I am packing that hospital bag this week.

Thoughts, News etc.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

cornishmaid - Monday, 12 May
thanks for adding me as a friend, well due dates come and gone yest and no sign this little boy wants to come out yet lol presume ill be going in still on thur cos the maternity unit was closed in my city cos it was full over the weekend, they were shipping all expectant mums off to other hospitals in the area ,when i say area i mean some were sent off on 1 and 2 hr journeys to get to a hospital which aint so good, and they mucked my friend about big time last week, taking her in ,gave her one lot the gel to induce her then cancelled the second lot as they were too busy, this happened 2 days on the trot then she discharged herself on the 3rd day after they cancelled her induction again, she had her baby last sat after going into labour naturally, albeit ending up in hospital over an hour from here lol ,hope alls well x x

hi lisa,i totally agree with u on the induction thing,im 43 now and due on sunday, been docs today ,she said baby still high up ,blood pressure behaving so no medical reason to induce me ,and it could end up having c section when it prob wouldnt be needed if i went naturally ...saying that tho am booked in week tomorrow(15th may) for induction next day lol.was induced with my other two sons cos of blood pressure playing up,and had quick labours of 2 hrs ,didnt have time to think about pain relief lol

Hi Lisa,

I am glad that you posted a message on my page because I have been checking your page quite frequently to see if you have given birth yet. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your little one and if you will post a birth story.

I have been doing great. It is getting a little awkward physically lately. I am trying to get the sleep that I need, but it is challenging because I need to get up so frequently to use the bathroom. Mostly, I am just excited about meeting my daughter. I have about a month left, so the time is going by fast.

I got the books in that I ordered. They were: Husband-Coached Childbirth by Bradley, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth by: Gaskin, HypnoBirthing by: Mongan, and So That's What They're For! by: Tamaro. We have been reading them, and so far I am excited about all of the books. I think they were all good choices. And, so far I have been excited about giving birth, not fearing it. I am looking forward to it being a wonderful bonding experience between me, my new daughter, and my husband.

So far, it has been a totally normal pregnancy, so I am not seeing any reason why going all-natural will be a problem. We have not seen any red flags up for medical intervention, at least not yet. We also have a doula, which we are meeting with for the second time this Friday. She seems wonderful. I felt very comfortable with her immediately, and her voice is very relaxing.

For the immediate, I just have to focus on finishing out the semester in high academic standing. I am a graduate student, and soon to finish up.

Good luck with everything and take care, Margy

Hi hun!
Yes, I maybe more dilated, but that is probably because this is my seventh, if she is anything like the last two pregnancies, she will go overdue, but I hope not, I went 41+weeks, oh God, I don't want that again!

It sounds like what you're describing is sciatica. Here's the definition:

The pain is felt in the lower back, buttock, and/or various parts of the leg and foot. In addition to pain, which is sometimes severe, there may be numbness, muscular weakness, and difficulty in moving or controlling the leg. Typically, the symptoms are only felt on one side of the body.

It's common with pregnant women and it goes away after the pregnancy is over. It's basically just a pinched nerve. I had it during my second trimester and luckily it ran it's course and went away. I walked around like an 80 year old hunched over! It was awful!

mommykris - Tuesday, 15 April
hey-
i went to the doctor for the same kind of pain that you are describing. mine is on my left side and now it has gotten so painful that it's moved down in to my groin. i can barely walk, can't stand up straight, and had to quit teaching 4 weeks early because i could not bare to stand up any longer at work. my husband took me to the ER on friday night because i was so miserable. they told me that my muscles were really tight before i got pregnant (i am an athlete and was in pretty good shape.) they said the abdominal muscles strech all the way around to the lower back and mine are completely stretched out and hanging on right inthe lower back.

they gave me some vicodin which helps, but i don't want to be taking that for the next 4 weeks!!! now they are sending me to an osteopathic clinic to get my back manipulated. we'll see if it helps. my dr. said that as long as i get an epidural that lobor and delivery should be ok.

hope that's not too much info, but i can definitely sympathize with you. good luck!!!

Big update! You go girl! I am so jealous, you look like you might deliver early alright, I wished I was in your shoes, I really don't want to go 41+weeks like I did with my last two, that is just cruel!

my7thbabyduemay20th2008 - Wednesday, 9 April
Thanks hun for your comment on my blog, how are you anyway?

pargy - Wednesday, 9 April
Congrats on being nine months pregnant. That is a milestone that I definitely want to hit. I have been doing a lot of reading about healthy eating to facilitate carrying to term.

I think that it is normal to worry, because we all want to be such great moms. I know that things will work out and fall into place for your experience.

I am looking forward to hearing about your birth experience, because you have already been an inspiration to me.
