Benjamin David was born on Christmas Eve, 2007 at 3 a.m. on the nose - this was exactly two years to the day after my husband proposed to me! I had always joked around about how I didn't know how we'd ever top such a wonderful Christmas Eve - well, we just did! Ben (named in honor of Ben Folds) weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 19.75 inches long. What a perfect, wonderful gift.

Update, 8/25/08: I've been meaning to put an update on my page for along time. Ben turned eight months old yesterday - where has the time gone? In the past two weeks he's started crawling, rolling from back to tummy, pulling himself up on furniture and his crib railing, letting go of the furniture to balance unassisted, and two days ago he even pulled himself to standing in the middle of the living room, without any help at all! He's such a big boy now.

I almost went to Wooster College. I thought if you would be near Cincinnati I'd meet you. Sorry, too far for me! I'm going to Zanesville in a few weeks, though. Whoopee!

Kira loves the maya wrap but I regret spending $92 on the Ergo! I thought it'd be more comfortable but it's really not. It's kind of awkward w/ all the straps, etc. Maybe I just have to get used to it.
How's everything going for you? I can't believe our babies are 6 mos now! Where is the time going?!? It's getting harder again for me to leave every morning for work. She's just so darn cute! I hate to miss out on all her smiles and laughter during the day. 6 months is so much fun!

Lisa, where in Ohio are you going to be this weekend?

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the D80 and I've looked at the D40 - we have Canon now. It was a pretty expensive and nice digital camera when we bought it 11 years ago. Digitial cameras were like a brand new thing then. It's a great camera, but it's only like 3 megapixels or something crazy and it takes videos, but they are so grainy, you can't make out faces on it. I never bought an extended lens for it. Maybe that would make it better. It doesn't flash quick enough and I miss a lot of great shots because I'm waiting for the flash. I appreciate your opinion. It may be 2 years before I end up with one as well. i want to get really familiar with what's out there before I buy. Thanks again!

Hey Lisa, when you get a chance, leave me a message and let me know what kind of camera you have. I know you enjoy photography and so do I. I need to upgrade my camera equipment and I am starting to do my homeworIk on what is out there. I like the Nikon line, but am open to anything. I want something with a fast shutter speed and a high resolution/mega pixel count. I need your advice. THanks!

So funny you just wrote that. I was thinking about it this morning. My graco infant seat is suppose to go to 30 pounds. Yeah right, Jd is barely 20 pounds & I am already looking into the next seat. So even if I get the Marathon I am still going to eventually have to buy a booster. So a Roundabout would save some cash. HOWEVER... not to tempt you, but I did find this site...They are selling cow-mooflouge marathons for only $219 NO SHIPPING FEE!!! Best deal I found so far!

Lisa, I went on amazon to look at the cow-mooflouge seat & it was $249 w/free shipping. At Babies r Us it is $279 w/ $14 to ship. I don't know if that is a sale for amazon or if it has always been that price? We might try & get it soon, but I thought I'd let you know the big price difference (I know how much you love Babies r Us- LOL ; ). I am still checking other sites as well- I'll let you know if I find it cheaper somewhere else.

Hey Lisa- How is the no cry sleep solution doing for you? I logged Lily's sleep, and I read through the suggestions, but I haven't gotten started... What types of ideas did you choose to use? Have you always been able to put Ben down while sleepy? I think that's my biggest problem right now. Lily is used to nursing all the way to sleep. I haven't been successful at putting her down drowsy and having her put herself the rest of the way asleep.... I am struggling to get started...

Thanks, lisa. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the comment on my new hair and bangs...It has been a long time since I had bangs, and I am getting used to them...

Lisa, do you feed Ben any teething biscuits? If so, which ones. I looked at a bunch in Kroger and Whole Foods, but couldn't decide. They either weren't organic or seemed to have a lot of sugar. I thought of all people, you may have some good advice!
