4/29/2008

Not much has changed in the last few weeks but I just wanted to leave an update. I was checked at my appt last week and the doctor said that I had not dialated but maybe thinned a very small amt. I have been feeling good other than a very bad stomach virus I got two weeks ago. I am really just now starting to feel like this baby is slowing me down. I went to Walmart last Sat for an hour and I was tired when I left. That is just not me! :) We have the crib up and I have most of the clothes, blankets and towels washed and put up. I have a dresser station that should be in this week or so... I can not wait to see it in the room with the crib. We have the C-section set for the 13th... all was worked out with the issue my husband was having. I am a little excited to get the 13th here but at the same time I also know that this baby is MUCH easier to take care of right where he/she is now. I am not so very uncomfortable that I am chomping at the bit to get it out... I am still training a girl at work to cover some of my stuff at least for that first week. Being self employeed I will not be "out" for 6 weeks. Lucky are those that get a paid maternity leave...

4/10/2008

My due date is May 20th and my dr wants to schedule my C Section 7-10 days prior to the due date. She called me back this morning and said it is looking like May 13th. My husband has the nerve to tell me that it did not fit into his schedule b/c his help at work was going to be gone Friday and Sat after that and he would most likely not be able to pick me up from the hospital nor would he be able to be around Friday or Sat to help at home. (I do have a mother). What he just does not seem to understand is what if they do not do it on the 13th and I go into labor that Friday or Saturday... there is no stopping that and what then.. He would rather miss the birth of his first child! AGGGGHHHH!!! I could Schedule it for the 19th but what if this child decides to come before that. I am telling you what.. Men never cease to amaze me. Sorry I just needed to VENT!!

3/24/2008

Boy the time has just been flying by. I went back to the dr for a two week visit on the 10th. Gaining weight just like I should (according to the dr) about 1 lb a week. They checked the heart beat and measured my bump. Dr said all measurements are right in line with my due date. I went last weekend to Savannah GA with my mom looking for cribs. The only one that I found so far was at Babies R Us and of course is on back order so long I really don't think I have a chance on that one. I know the babies do not sleep in them right off usualy but the waiting list at that one store was over 75 people. We did not find a crib but I did find a play yard, high chair, stroller and car seat set that I loved. We still are not finding out what we are having so I needed something neutral. Chicco has the set called Adventure and it is green and a dark grey so we made our first baby purchase and got the set. I could not believe the difference in the strollers turning points between Grayco and Chicco. Chicco was sooo much better. We managed to get the carseat/stroller set and the play yard/bassinet out of the boxes and together. We still do not have a name. I keep tossing them out there and nothing seems to stick with my husband. Hopefully we will not end up at the hospital with no names picked out. I am really starting to get excited about the new arrival. Some friend of mine are throwing me a shower this Saturday. I hate being the center of attention but I need to look at it as the "baby to be" being the center of attention b/c soon enough it will be. Other than that all is well.. baby moves all day and night it seems like. No major complaints other than heartburn and I guess that is not to bad. Hope all is well for everyone else.

2/28/2008

Went back to the doctor yesterday (2/27/2008) for my 28 week Rogam shot. The shot did not even hurt. They checked my iron levels and said I was a little low so they want me to start taking an iron supplement. I had gained another 3 lbs but since I have had a birthday and Valentines day since my last visit 3 lbs did not sound that bad. That puts my total weight gain at about 23 lbs. I feel good other than my sinus b/c of the pollen that has already started to fall here in SC. Hopefully it will rain hard for the next few weeks and wash it all away in a hurry.

2/22/2008

Well I finally took my first belly picture and figured out how to upload it to my VIP page. Time is just flying by. I had my 32nd birthday yesterday and felt wonderful all day. Baby is bumping around in there all night long and most of the day. I can really tell that the baby is getting stronger b/c the bumps are harder and harder everyday.

1/16/2008

Well we had out "big u/s" on 1/8. Baby was healthy as far as they could tell. We did not find out what we are having. My husband just does not want to know. We did get the tech to take a gender shot and seal it in an envelope for me so I would have a picture for the baby book. First baby for us both and I guess he just wants to keep it a surprise for as long as he can. We really have not talked much about names and I am just starting to look at nursery stuff.... just seems so early. I have been feeling great. Gained about 18 lbs so far that seems to be mostly in my boobs and thighs :).

11/15/2007

Changed Dr's today and the new Dr did my first u/s. I must say it brought a tear to my eyes to be able to see the little one moving around in there. The Dr said that I was measuring perfect and that everything looked good. Heart beat was in the 150's. I am really excited to finally feel pregnant.

11/08/2007

Took a tour of the hospital last night. I know it is a little early but I was on the fence about which dr's office I was going to use and they use two different hospitals. Loved the second hospital so it sealed the deal. I am off to my new Dr on the 15th. I really hope that she will do an u/s. Feeling better these days.

11/01/2007

Our 4 year anniversary today. Seem to be feeling better across the board. I have been having some mild back pain for a few days but it seems to be getting better. I did find a new Dr. office and have an appt 11/15/2007. This Dr also said they would most likely not do an u/s till 18 weeks but from what I have heard they usually do them earlier. Can't wait to see my little one on the screen...I think it will just make it all so real.

10/24/2007

Went to the Dr yesterday and heard the heart beat. The dr used a portable dobbler and did not even tell me how fast the heart beat was. My dr says that they do not so u/s until week 20. I am a little concerned about this. 20 weeks seems a bit late to check on the little one to make sure all is well. Not really happy with my drs office and looking around. Hope I can get this resolved soon.

Oh my God!!! Is he real???? Men never cease to amaze me either. Book your section, (mines booked for the 12th!), the last thing you need is to go into labour and have to have an emergency one!! Tell him if he misses it, it'll be something he can never ever get back and it'll be his lookout!!!

Don't worry about venting, you deserve a medal for not biting off his nose!!! xXx

KMFITZ - Thursday, 10 April
Girl, I would have smacked him in the face. How rude!! I don't think you're being too sensitive about it at all--how about tell him that life should come before work, especially the birth of his child and that he should care enough about you to be there to support you and for the love of god, to take you home from the hospital!!! UGH!

Wantedbabe - Friday, 4 April
How are you doing? Hope all is well. I am going good. In a few days we will be into wk 34, I can't believe how the time has flown by. How was your shower? Mine is set for April 12th....

lise - Thursday, 3 April
Hi!
The reason I choose general is because I dont like the idea of having a tube with liquid pumped into my back! There are to many things that can go wrong with that. Also the amount of time you are out during general is only about 25 minute so it is not that bad. The pain after will be a little more since you dont have the back anestesia to put drugs in but I rather take that!! Good luck with your baby, Lise

I am so glad to hear that everything is going well. Time is really flying....we have only 8 more weeks to go and then we will welcome our bundles of joy.

I am getting so excited it isn't funny. Our crib was delivered and is set up...we also got a bassinet which I found at Walmart.com. I like several of the Graco carseats, but I am having a hard time deciding on the one I want to get.

If it was my decision I would not have a shower, but my cousin insisted that I have one. So, on April 12th my friends and family will get together to celebrate my little girl....It will be good so see several people that I haven't seen for in a while...

I too am having heartburn, but I am not complaining. When it gets too bad I take a drink of milk which helps.

littlecat, selftanners are ok to use while pregnant. They modify only upper level of skin and do not penetrate. Actually most cosmetics is ok to use except some acne products.

my-lil-miracle - Wednesday, 12 Mar
*this is straight from the 'what's safe and unsafe' category under 'spa and beauty'* The look of sun-kissed skin that a self-tanner provides can do wonders for your self-esteem. The ingredients in self-tanners are harmless, so it's fine to use them during pregnancy. These lotions and sprays are basically dyes that stay on the surface of your skin and won't harm your developing baby.
*hope that helps*

cynthetamine - Wednesday, 12 Mar
This is what i found for ya!

Tanning lotions don’t contain ultraviolet light. Research is very limited and has not proven self-tanning lotions to be safe or unsafe. But compared to the harmful UV rays of the sun, there may be little risk in faking that summer glow.

my-lil-miracle - Wednesday, 12 Mar
about the tanning lotions (the ones that you put on your skin to get the 'fake tan', not the ones u use before u go out in the sun) it's okay because it stays surface level and doesn't get into your blood stream... If u want more info go to the 'health and beauty' forum on this website, they have something about it there

lilmomma - Wednesday, 12 Mar
let me know what your doc says about self tanning lotions....i have been wondering that myself.

agummybear - Monday, 3 Mar
Hi. I got my shot in my left arm and it totally hurt! But I too am grateful that they know these things. As for the delivery, you have to get it within 48 hours (?) of the birth if the baby has Rh positive blood. I hope all is going well with you! Take care!

agummybear - Thursday, 28 Feb
Hi there! I go to the doctor tomorrow for my Rh shot. How did it go? Where did they shoot you? :)

penelopiepink - Monday, 25 Feb
you are not supposed to take the airborne pill. to many of vitamins that you are not supposed to be taking. I would just make sure that you are getting plenty of rest and drinking lots of water

kellnjoelplusone - Monday, 25 Feb
I just bought the ariborn gummies for my 5 year old and was tempted to take one but the box said not recomended if pregnant or breast feeding

wantedbabe - Saturday, 23 Feb
Hi, what were your results? Hope they were what all of us hope for.

wantedbabe - Thursday, 21 Feb
When I did my glucose test the nurse said not to have ANYTHING (including water) for the hour while I wait.

PoohBear - Thursday, 14 Feb
It is hard to explain but I tell you I try hard bc it is so amazing that you can feel and arm, leg back and etc on the inside. GOD knew what He was doing it when HE made women to carry another life on the inside of them. You be blessed and have a wonderful, blessed Valentine Day.

PoohBear - Thursday, 14 Feb
I can understand what you are talking about. I enjoy my baby just moving around. It is amazing. I am just too blessed to be carrying life on the inside of me.

ashleygray - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Yes, I looove it. thats where we got ours at. It came really fast too, maybe 3 days after we ordered it.

danish-girl - Wednesday, 23 Jan
Hey Liza,
you are very welcome. Its good to lie down a bit when you have them, thats what my Doctor recommended as well :-) Not that it is absolutey necessary but if it feels like youre going to blow up it helps to lie down :-)

Take care!
