Ok, it's about time I created a real page! My name is Dawn and I'm 27 years old. I have been with my husband for almost 8 years, we met 11/00 on an online dating site, we got married 8/05 and had our son 9/07. I currently work full-time, mostly from home and am able to bring my son with me on the days I do go into the office. Our only pet is a black lab mix (mutt) named Pepper who is 3 years old.

Here is a picture of our wedding party. Let me know who you think Travis' looks like :-).

Here is a picture of our first baby:

She is a little spoiled with her own couch and she loves to sleep on pillows!

This is Pepper's popeye face.

And now for our second baby, here is his birth story:

Travis was born 9/2/08 via c-section at 2:41pm. My water broke around 4:30 am so my husband and I showered and then headed to the hospital. They started pitocin around 7am and probably about half an hour later, my contractions became extremely painful and were 2 minutes apart. I barely had time to catch my breath in between and decided that if I was going to eventually cave to the epidural I might as well do it early on. The epidural was ok, he put it in too far to one side and sent shooting pains up that side but then the next attempt was a success. I progressed fairly quickly and was excited at how fast my labor was going. My sister and Mom had really long labors with their first babies so I had been prepared for an all day/night affair. I guess it was probably a little after 2pm that I was fully dilated and ready to push. I pushed through three contractions and Travis' heartrate plummeted and wouldn't go back up to an acceptable rate. He was still at -2 station so they knew that there was no way he was going to tolerate being born naturally. After the third time I pushed the nurse put an oxygen mask on my face, paged my doctor, and got my husband his surgery gear to put on. It all happened fairly quickly but in my head it was like a slow motion horror film. I could still move my toes when they started cutting and the anesthesiologist didn't believe me. He asked me where it hurt and I said right above my pubic area. He told me that they weren't even near there (not sure what he was looking at as that's exactly where my scar is) but he did keep pushing drugs and right before they pulled my son out I was finally pain free. It was the most traumatic experience of my life so far even though it was a fairly uncomplicated birth compared to a lot of other women. No one said a word to me before my husband came in or after he left with the baby. He was probably only in the operating room for 3 minutes tops. I felt so alone and scared. I kept telling myself to be calm and that if I started to freak out it would take away from what they were trying to do and it would prolong getting my baby out. Right before they wheeled me into the operating room they put a monitor on Travis' head and I could hear his heartbeat which was scary as it kept stopping! I knew that I wanted him out for his own safety but in no way was this how I had planned his birth to go. After I was all stitched up, which took an eternity, I was wheeled to the recovery room and kept asking to see my baby. I wanted to start breastfeeding as soon as possible as I knew that that was what you are supposed to do. Breastfeeding was a nightmare at first but eventually, probably weeks into it, we finally figured it out!

Happy Birthday Travis! He was 7lbs 15oz and 21.5 inches long.

Daddy and his babies :-)

He is so stinkin cute! I love the new pics of him. That pic of him in the monkey suit cracked me up!!! That's great that you found some great deals at Target!

I had a great vacation but am happy to be home. Gage loved the beach and was so good the whole time we were gone. I was a proud Mama! He also decided to say Da-Da a couple times-I'll be honest I was really hoping to here Mama first but oh well-what can you do!

Mo did VERY well with the carrots. So I suppose the store bought stuff is a no-no. I'm going to introduce peaches this week and then green beans next. You ramble all you want! I don't mind at all. I beat my little man up this morning! . It's 7:48 and he JUST woke up. He's usually up by 6 or 6:30. However, he didn't go down til almost 8:30 last night instead of his normal 7/7:30. Let me go get his breakfast ready and change his diaper. . So nice to hear from you....take care!

It's weird...your comment on my bassinet blog just showed up as new TODAY (SUNDAY the 1st) and it's almost 2 days old.

So anyway, the first week or so when Mo was sleeping in his crib, I would go get him and move him into the bassinet just because I wanted him close to me. Now, I just check on him before bedtime and leave my door cracked so I can hear him. I STILL walk into the bedroom and just stare at the spot where it used to be. He's going to be 6 months old in 3 days...WOW!

Thanks for the prayers. Ian is doing good. He has had a hard time this past month but it's starting to look up. I'll blog all about the past month one of these days soon. it's just hard to keep up with everything. How's the baby?

Oh my gosh, I haven't looked at those early pictures for so long! She's changed soooo much. I actually had to remind hubby to go get the pictures of baby, and not worry about what the doctors were doing to me, he was so nervous he didn't know what to do. She was so tiny when she was born and she's such a little tank now! I love your portrait pictures, hey came out so well. I haven't done any yet, I think it's about time.

Awwwww. I just read over your birth story. I'm so sorry it was so traumatic. I wonder why his heartbeat wasn't steady. At least he looks perfectly healthy and adorable now!

Alexandria and I are doing great. She is about 9 days old and she nurses like a champ! She's very healthy and feisty-she runs our household. :) Thanks for keeping in touch. I really miss chatting with other mommies on here. xxxx

I didthat reading and its pretty funny. I am planning on getting the vaccinations. Dan actually wouldn't let me sign one of them, until we did some reading because of the autism thing. I made him go with me, and was glad I did despite our situation. my fingers are numb. I want this baby out lol. Sure you will get sick of hearing that.

KariLynn - Saturday, 31 May
I would say it was larger than a quarter and thick. I hope its soon!!

KariLynn - Saturday, 31 May
I will check that out lol. I had a big glob of something come out of me. I asked about it in my week, and a lady thought thats what it was. She said she lost hers, and there was no color and a week later she had her baby. I guess that you don't lose it all at once, from everyone I have talked to. My cousin said a little bit all day long. I don't know. What are you up to today?

KariLynn - Saturday, 31 May
Oh and i think I may have lost my plug last night, just not sure though.

KariLynn - Saturday, 31 May
I hope you are online, I am so bored :)

KariLynn - Saturday, 31 May
Hey just wanted to say hi! I am sooooo tired!! Kyle felt the baby last night. It was pretty cute I thought. Dan wanted him to feel his brothers butt lol. Did I tell you the baby is head down? I really don't remember. I have been hurting so bad. Somthing with my pelvis region, I think that I might go to er tonight if it doesn't get better. I can barely walk. Working is quite the challenge!! how are you doing?

JenMN - Saturday, 31 May
P.S. What do you do that enables you to work from home?
