Ok, it's about time I created a real page! My name is Dawn and I'm 27 years old. I have been with my husband for almost 8 years, we met 11/00 on an online dating site, we got married 8/05 and had our son 9/07. I currently work full-time, mostly from home and am able to bring my son with me on the days I do go into the office. Our only pet is a black lab mix (mutt) named Pepper who is 3 years old.

Here is a picture of our wedding party. Let me know who you think Travis' looks like :-).

Here is a picture of our first baby:

She is a little spoiled with her own couch and she loves to sleep on pillows!

This is Pepper's popeye face.

And now for our second baby, here is his birth story:

Travis was born 9/2/08 via c-section at 2:41pm. My water broke around 4:30 am so my husband and I showered and then headed to the hospital. They started pitocin around 7am and probably about half an hour later, my contractions became extremely painful and were 2 minutes apart. I barely had time to catch my breath in between and decided that if I was going to eventually cave to the epidural I might as well do it early on. The epidural was ok, he put it in too far to one side and sent shooting pains up that side but then the next attempt was a success. I progressed fairly quickly and was excited at how fast my labor was going. My sister and Mom had really long labors with their first babies so I had been prepared for an all day/night affair. I guess it was probably a little after 2pm that I was fully dilated and ready to push. I pushed through three contractions and Travis' heartrate plummeted and wouldn't go back up to an acceptable rate. He was still at -2 station so they knew that there was no way he was going to tolerate being born naturally. After the third time I pushed the nurse put an oxygen mask on my face, paged my doctor, and got my husband his surgery gear to put on. It all happened fairly quickly but in my head it was like a slow motion horror film. I could still move my toes when they started cutting and the anesthesiologist didn't believe me. He asked me where it hurt and I said right above my pubic area. He told me that they weren't even near there (not sure what he was looking at as that's exactly where my scar is) but he did keep pushing drugs and right before they pulled my son out I was finally pain free. It was the most traumatic experience of my life so far even though it was a fairly uncomplicated birth compared to a lot of other women. No one said a word to me before my husband came in or after he left with the baby. He was probably only in the operating room for 3 minutes tops. I felt so alone and scared. I kept telling myself to be calm and that if I started to freak out it would take away from what they were trying to do and it would prolong getting my baby out. Right before they wheeled me into the operating room they put a monitor on Travis' head and I could hear his heartbeat which was scary as it kept stopping! I knew that I wanted him out for his own safety but in no way was this how I had planned his birth to go. After I was all stitched up, which took an eternity, I was wheeled to the recovery room and kept asking to see my baby. I wanted to start breastfeeding as soon as possible as I knew that that was what you are supposed to do. Breastfeeding was a nightmare at first but eventually, probably weeks into it, we finally figured it out!

Happy Birthday Travis! He was 7lbs 15oz and 21.5 inches long.

Daddy and his babies :-)

Our little monkey for Halloween.

Christmas '07.

Making funny noises with his tongue

Riding his car

Thank you very much for passing my message on.

Yes, we are very excited to be all moved in! The only reason we are able to keep the grass that green is because we have a sprinkler system everywhere. If I was in charge of moving a sprinkler around the yard with these babies, our yard would be burnt to a crisp! lol I will get in touch with the lady you mentioned. Thanks for letting me know about her - nursing multiples to me is more convenient them making and cleaning all those bottles, not to mention more economical!=)

thank you so much! i see you have a beautiful family as well, the baby with the doggy pics are priceless!!! a lab?

i was so sorry to read that you had a traumatic birthing experience, i know what its like because i had a "horror story" for my daughters birth. it felt really cold, clinical, and impersonal and she was born vaginally. my next child was born in the hospital by a mid wife and it was the most wonderful, emotional, experience of my life. when my son was in the birth canal, she massaged my cervix with oils on her fingers and i had not one little tare. i lived having a mid wife, its like night, and day. why did they start the pit drip on you anyway? (if you don't mind me asking?)

I just see how people are so sensitive about it. Even my comments about WIC were that people take advantage of it, not that it is a bad program all around. Every comment made about it I said that it is there for a purpose but whatever. I just rolled my eyes at it. HAHA! But thanks. Only a few people got a up and arms about it. You what gets me is if your aren't breastfeeding and/or aren't passionate about it why come on a section of the site for breastfeeding? It's about questions and support for breastfeeding. They have a bottlefeeding sections too which people can go and say how great it is to bottlefeed too. If someone doesn't want to hear how great it is then don't go to the breastfeeding section. HAHA! Whatever. I'm having a great week. My son just broke a tooth through and my husband is out of town. SO, I am up all night with a crying baby and at work all day. My husband comes home today, thank God! I need some rest.

They say the clomid does not have any lasting fertility effects. It is blamed on my"advanced maternal age". They say the clomid seems to have just gotten my ovaries doing what they should have been doing all along. But we will be making sure we are done!!!!! I do stay very busy and boy do I sleep good each night!!!!

SueUK - Thursday, 29 May
Ahh he's such a cutie, big blue eyes. Joe has blue/grey eys still. His Daddy has grey eyes with a hazel fleck, mine are brown so I don't know if/when they will change.

SueUK - Thursday, 29 May
Aw what a cute smile he's got!

 Wow big boy!!

Sophie's fever went up to about 102. The motrin helped more than the tylenol but would wear off before I could give her more! Someone told me to alternate motrin and tylenol but I never did... because you could give them tylenol in between the ibuprofen doses. Her fever did go away after her teeth popped thru. Her top middle ones came in then I kept thinking "Okay... feel better already!!" But the other two top teeth were right behind them! Aren't those little "fever eyes" so very sad?? It was really hot here when she had a fever too, making her even more miserable! It was so nice to have my little ray of sunshine back after those teeth cut!! We had a couple good weeks and now she is droooooooling again and a bit fussy... how many more freakin' teeth can this tiny little girl get!? She has 7 already, sheesh! Let me know what happened! Hang in there!

daisybaby - Wednesday, 28 May
Poor little guy! Sounds familiar! Sophie's Dr. said it is a good idea to take her in when she has a fever for over 24 hours when they are this little. She said if she were 2 she'd tell us just to ride it out! They never did find anything with all the tests they ran. So it was either a virus or her teeth. Dr. says its not teeth but I don't buy it! Take care!

I just read your birth story..Oh my goodness!
I had to argue with the anesthesiologist to get her to just knock me out...I didn't trust that I would numb up well with a spinal. My nurse told me later that they wanted to use the epidural that they had given me, that I had TOLD them was NOT WORKING!! My nurse had experienced the same thing as you...them starting a c-section on her when her epidural wasn't working...She never had any more kids because of that experience...

Oh my! Eli won't stand near long enough for me to snap a pic. It's like 1 second before he holds on to something again.

spookywife - Tuesday, 27 May
Do you think it is his teeth? I would trust your instinct. If he has other symptoms then I might call the pedi. Ryder has only been sick one time, and it only lasted a day. I think he had a reaction to one of his shots. So I really don't know, but I would trust your instincts. I would for sure call if the fever gets any higher.

spookywife - Tuesday, 27 May
 How cute! He is adorable!

karina - Tuesday, 27 May
i noticed that have ur baby and ur dog together, i also have a dog (my first baby lol) and the pediatrician said that i should get rid off her!!!, that pets were a no-no because they cause allergies and they are full of bateria; well, i did not listen to him, i love my dog very much, but for a sec he made me feel like a bad mother for "chosing the dog over my baby" (that's the way he described it)... i love the pic were ur baby is on top of your dog, i hope my Ellie gets along with my baby... thanks for all your comments, i'm going to start breasfeeding Emma again (once a day to begin with) so wish me luck!

karina - Tuesday, 27 May
well, she was like that because i was eating dairy products in daily bases (a lot) i haven't breastfed her since i cut them from my diet, i'm waitng two weeks to start (a lactation consultant told me that's the period of time my body will need to get rid off the milk from my system), meanwhile i'm pumping...

cherryrose - Monday, 26 May
i surely will...LOL

karina - Monday, 26 May
hi! thank u for ur comment... the symptoms were: she started crying after eating (between the following half hour) and also when she started eating her tummy was growling and she was crying, she seems hungry all the time, also she was very gassy and fussy all day... can u tell me what happened w/ur baby so i can compare your situation with mine? thank u

MommyTara - Monday, 26 May
