Try to keep your baby nursing for longer stretches, and make sure that you hear him swallow (and is not just using you as a pacifier after a few minutes). Sometimes babies feed frequently because they do not get enough milk from one side and never get to the hind milk that is the most filling (and can increase the time in between feedings). I read something today in Babywise or the Baby Whisperer to feed on one side for a few minute, burp, then switch to the other side, burp, then switch, burp, etc.
