My name is Liz. I'm from Mississauga, Ontario, and pregnant with my first, which is a boy, Trent! :D

I'm SO glad I found this site. I love reading all the comments and checking out all the newest belly and baby pics :-) Keep them coming ladies they're wonderful.

His reaction:: I woke him up by shoving the pregnancy test in his face! He replied with "What am I looking at I only see one line!" I said NO there's two!!! He said oh better make a Doctors appointment LOL( He was very excited)

Greatest memory so far:: Feeling him kick for the first time, hearing his heartbeat, seeing him on ultrasound and feeling his hiccups.

Biggest fear:: I know I shouldn't say this, but I'm terrified something bad will happen to him during birth.

Advantages of being pregnant:: Having people always smiling at you and being nice.

Weird dreams::Not too many

Breast changes:: They got HUGE!!! LOL I went from a small B to a D!

Waist changes:: Oh ya that grew too LOL

Things you quit for baby:: Drinking, Smoking, Caffeine and got off my diet. I gave up a lot, but it was well worth it, this little man doesn't know that he saved his mommy from a very un-healthy, short life!

Most uncomfortable time:: Trying to shave.....down there! LOL

Worst part of being pregnant:: There is no worst part, no matter what I went through. There are woman out there that can't have children that would give everything to feel what I feel, so no complaints from me.

Best place for maternity clothes:: My hubby's closet LOL Hey it saves TONS of money and is way more comfortable.

Taking parenting classes:: Nope, all natural baby hehehehe

Pregnancy necessities:: My Gaviscon!!!! And ice cold bottles of water.

Grandparents reaction:: Baby Trent in mine and Kevin's parents first Grandchild! They were all SO happy. Lots of support from both sides. They're just wonderful.

Where will you deliver:: Etobicoke General Hospital in Rexdale, Ontario

When:: Not too sure. Today is the due date so I'm hoping today LOL

Will you breastfeed:: Probably not, we'll see.

SOrry it took me so long to resond to your post, but thats crazy u have same outfit as me! lol! I loooveedd it, its sooo cute i had to get it. We named our son bradley too so the B went with his name also ! =) Thanks for responding to my post about baby blues, i have goten better since writing that post but there are still times where i get sad. Its just very overwhelming and my bf has 2 other kids from a previous relationship who dont speak to their bioiligical mother (they call me mommy as they were veery young when i came) so i have had no time to adjust to a new born yet alone carry life with 3 kids all of a sudden. I cant sleep either when he sleeps cuz i got the other two. Ugh, i hope it gets better. And you are right, hospital does everything and then we are all alone. How old is your son?

So how is everything now that you are back home? You and Kevin didn't split up did you? Does he come over to your house alot and see Trent? Do you have alot of help from your parents? Seems like we're kind of in the same situation living at home...I moved back home the day Jaden turned a month old.

Aw I'm sorry he won't sleep for you. How was the move? We're doing good, I just got my first period (since having Benjamin) on Sunday I'm cramping like crazy and the flow is soo heavy but my doc said its because my system is flushing itself out...lol its nasty.

I've been there sister! try the 5 S's. All at the same time with lights and noise very low. Swaddle, Swing (rock in a chair holding baby), Swish (use a bear that makes womb sounds, or have "white noise" like a vacuum, static, or just make a swish-swish-swish -constantly by their ear...doesn't have to be real loud, but if baby is crying, you want it loud so they can hear. It was very loud in the womb.) Suck (either breastfeeed, use a binkie, bottle...something! Newborns need to suck on something all the time!) Side position (have them lay on their side), and also sing, hum, whatever....something soothing for baby...if you are not "swishing". This all sounds like a lot...but it has been known to work! But swaddle that baby tight! If it's hot where you are, put baby in a onesie and then swaddle with a light blanket. The swaddle makes them feel like they are still in mama, they LOVE it! Good luck! I have been there! The baby probably feels your stress too...you're moving right? Yikes! Hang in there.

Yeah...see if he has a fever. Maybe he is gassy. I know my lil one gets like this sometimes...and I give her Mylicon...seems to help a little. Uh oh....here goes my baby now...waking up...and I just fed her 4 oz at 11:30. Maybe your lil boy justs loves you soooooooon much and he feels safe with you.

Wow!!! That IS a long time to be awake!!! I wish mine gave me more awake time during the day. I get an hour here and there...and awake during a feeding...but other than that...she sleeps. I guess the good thing for you is that it is during most of the day...rather than all thru the night. Is he crying the entire time he's awake???

When she gets like that she usually has gas and has to sit up to eat so I will pump and give her breast milk through the bottle. she has been doing alot better since I did this. I also use to have caffine but since I stopped that as will she has been doing good. Do you breast feed your formula????

My little one does this as will it usually starts about 6 pm every day... Not sure why but she will just get really fussy and then about 10 pm she will start to go to sleep. Dr says it is normal they can get over stimilated and get a little fussy

Oh girl, Jaden was on a kick his first month of eating 3-4 ozs approx every 2 hours and thats why he's so big today. He ate like crazy. How much of his birth weight did he loose? Jaden only lost about 3 ozs and he had already gained it back before we left the hospital. What kind of formula is he on? Oh yes, Jaden sleeps in the bed with me. I start out putting him in his crib about 7 or so when I first put him to sleep and then by 10 or so when i'm ready to go to bed he's normally stirring so I just put him beside me and he usually goes back to sleep. Last night I put him beside me and he cied until I gave in and made him a bottle...I only let him eat about a half oz and took it back out of his mouth and gave him his passy instead and he was fine til about 2 this morning. Yes, you really do get used to going on no sleep...it's just something us mommies go through but it will get better. It's sure worth it! I'm glad he's good and your enjoying mommyhood!
This is a picture of Jaden at 7 days old, he was at his first doctors appt and was 8lbs 4.5ozs (he was 7lbs 11ozs when he was born).

Hi,

congrats on your new baby:)

I started feeling blue almost right after I had my son, there were so many things going wrong in my life, that it all was just very overwhelming to me. I had no help at all,my husband is working all the time,my parents are not even in this country. Plus,my baby had to have a surgery at 3 weeks.I was scared to death for him.
Anyway, try to cheer yourself up. If you have someone to help out with the baby, go out, go shopping, go do your hair or something..Get some time for yourself. If there's no one to help,still try to get out,even with the baby. go outside and get some fresh air.
First month is very hard for everyone. when he is about 3-4 months its sooo much easier. So just hang in there, time flies really fast. My baby will be 6 months old soon, I can not believe it:) It's hard work,no doubt,but a lot of fun:)

thanks again girl! how is baby trent doing? is he eating well? are you formula or bf? i know your sleep right now is slim to none but it does get better...jaden still wakes up at night (about 3 times) and when he wakes up he needs that bottle to get him back to sleep but he only needs enough to have the taste and then i can take the bottle right out and stick his passy in and he's fine and immediately sleeping again but he'll scream until i give him his bottle. im sure hoping he grows out of this habit soon...but looks to me like it might end up being a problem because not a night goes by that this doesn't happen!

Aw I'm sorry it turned out to be an emer section but I'm glad everything is fine!!!!!!!! Haha peed on already? I went months before he peed on me, I was lucky, lol! I took Benjamin swimming for the first time today, he loved it! I have pics on the 4 month forum if you want to check them out. So how are you feeling recovery wise?
