My Due Date Is Friday, August 31, 2007
My conception date was most likely Friday, December 08, 2006
You are in Week 40 of your pregnancy
and your baby is 38 weeks old.
274 days down, 6 to go!
Hi I am Lizzie and I am 40 weeks pregnant, due on the 31st august!
I have had a fairly easy pregnancy, although I did feel ill in the beginning what with morning sickness and totally going off food. I did have the Flu which I had never had before and it was awful, I took a week off work, then my eardrum burst which was also agony!
I finished work quite early which was nice, I was 7.5mths pregnant. So I have had a good 6 weeks of relaxation before baby comes!
We decided not to find out the sex of the baby as I wanted a surprise which in a way has been really difficult but I am glad we have waited. It was quite hard to decide on what colours to buy the baby and what colour to paint the nursery too! I went into hospital last week for 2 nights as I was having some really sharp pains on my right side. First they thought it was my appendix then they said the baby was lieing on a ligament but the pain was far worse that ligament pain it was awful. I was mainly worried if the baby was ok. They monitored me twice a day on the machine and baby seemed fine. I noticed I was having regular Braxton hicks on the monitor but the lady next to me had none whch I thought was strange!
My cervix wasn't dilated, so the pains were nothing to do with labour, we never actually found out what was causing the pain, my midwife wondered if it was a cyst on the ovary which had become twisted. Well still none the wiser and hopefully it won't come back!!! My husband andy is really excited about being a daddy! He has spent hours sorting our house out for the baby. We bought a house a year ago that needed total modernisation, its almost complete now except fot he hallway and the garden. He has worked really hard and deserves a break now!!! Not sure he will get one with a little baby around though, lol!!!
Well please email me if you feel you may have something in common with me or you just fancy a chat, would be great to hear from you.....
28th August 2007
At 2am this morning my waters broke and I had a show, I am now waiting at home for my contractions to become every 3 minutes bfore the hospital will let me come in. They are eratic at the moment - every 20 minutes one minute then every 6 minutes the next. Booked in to be induced in the morning at 8am, keep you posted................
............. On the 29th August Finley David was born weighing 6Ib 15oz. From my waters breaking at 2am to contractions starting at 6am on the 28th, he was finally born at 9pm on the 29th! I got to hospital on the morning of 29th at 6am. They wouldn't actually let me in but I pleaded with them on the phone that I needed pain relief so they let me in. I think this is because I virtually live half a mile from the hospital so they just kept saying stay at home every time I rang! So when I got to the delivery suite I had gas and air until 9am then they checked to see if I was dilated, I was 4cm! They said I could have an epidural now but I decided to carry on without it but have Pethedine instead. Pethedine was quite nice, it just chilled me out a bit, made me feel sleepy. I could still feel the contractions but they wern't as intense. My contractions were still eratic so they said a "hormone drip" would make them every 2 minutes which is how they should be. This worked they became every two minutes and really intense! They checked to see how dilated I was, I was 7cm, then they said it was just about ok to have an epidural. Any later and it would of been too late for one! Thank god I got one just in time! It was bliss after the Epidural - BLISS! I could relax, all the pain had gone, now they just told me when I was having a contraction from looking on the monitor! Within a couple of hours I was 10cm (6.30pm) and it was time to push. I pushed for 2 hours, I could see his head when they gave me a mirror but only a little bit. I became so tired I asked them to use the suction method and just "get the baby out"!!!!! I had to have an "Episiotomy" 4th degree cut but I didn't feel a thing due to the wonderful epidural!!! Then at 8.50pm my baby boy was born!!! It was an amazing experience, I was soooo happy to meet him finally. Although labout is tough it is so worth every minute when you finally meet you beautiful baby. It hasn't put me off and I will definatley be having another baby one day!!!
He is a good baby, most of the time!!!!! Sleeps fairly well now!! Didn't in the first 8wks though!!!! Kind of got a good routine going now! He only really wakes once in the night. Well Good luck to you guys out there, just remember it will be fine and its not long until you meet your baby!!!!!! "girl power" he he, lol xxxx
