Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Your welcome. You will do great just trust yourself and remember to keep your focus. Once you panic its hard to recover. BREATHE! :)

It looks like you got some good tips on here already so I'll add some things I've heard too. A lot of my friends told me to bring food!! It's not for you, but hubby/coach. At my hosp we can keep it in the patient fridge. Also bring socks and/or slippers because you will most likely be walking around at some point during labor, and the floors can be cold (and kinda gross too I imagine.) My birthing room also has a TV VCR/DVD and you can bring your own DVD's...for those long drawn out labors, haha. Also, the lady who runs our birthing class said to bring some soothing music to play to relax you. My friend suggested some magazines or a book for the 'boring' part of labor where nothing much is happening. (It's hard to imagine a 'boring' part of labor, haha!) I was told not to wear my own jammies because they can get messy/bloody. But bring them just in case. I'd make sure your camera is all charged up and bring the battery charger with you! Don't forget your cell phone. Also I was told to bring some lanolin nursing cream, nursing pads and bring your nursing pillow too if you have one. I'm in the process of making a list too and I'm going to print it up so that my hubby can see it too. I'm going to pack what I can now and leave it by the door. It's never too late to get prepared. Also, I'm sure you could just go down to the hosp and walk into L&D and tell them you want a quickie tour. Especially if you are getting nervous about it. Someone will be able to show you where to go. If in doubt and you go into labor before you know where to go, go to the emergency room. They will take you where you need to be! Good luck!!

Hi,
About what to bring to the hospial- go online and do a searcg, but just in case here is the list my hospital gave me.... (brace yourself for a long note ;)
For Mom:loose fitting clothes (like the ones you wore when you were 5 mths pg), loose shoes, nursing bra o supportive bra if you will not nurse, nightgown/robe, slippers, socks, toothbrush/paste, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, lip balm, hair brush glasses/contacts, lollipops (or candy on a stick- I would ecommend sour ones since the sweet ones make you thirst, the sour ones produce more salive which you will need when breathing thru your mouth), bith plan (if you made one), insuance card, breastfeeding pillow, info on pediatrician, picture or object ti use as focal point.
For dad: camera/video camera, ipod or music, watch, cell phone and charger, paper and pen, telephone list of people to call to spread the news, cash, breath mints/gum, snacks, medications (tylenol, antacids-the hospital will not provide meds for him), toothbruah/paste, glasses/contacts, change of clothes, sweat shirt (just in case it gets cold in the hospital, swimsuit (just in case you want to labor on the shower or hot tub and he needs to get wet).
For baby: car seat, going home clothes, baby t-shirts, blanket, baby book to record foot prints and events (I personally never take this).

Sorry for the long message but I hope this helps.

Hospital packing:

a nursing bra and underwear
a outfit to go home in for you and baby
shampoo, toothbruth etc...
car seat
blanket for baby
your pillow if you want your own
something to use as a focal point during labor, massage oil or lotion for your partner to massage your back (hey take advantage of a good massage) thats pretty much it sweety. They give you everything you need otherwise. All the diapers, pads, wipes, formula etc are all provided. You even get these awesome (heeheh) mesh granny panties. Not a lot to pack at all.

well that wasn't nice of her then!!!! turning should be a doctors job not u/s tech. Oh well if that was it then I am glad it feels better. I would feel grumpy with her for hurting me. Glad you are doing better now though!

startingoverat37 - Wednesday, 13 Feb
If that happens again call your doctors office. A ultrasound doesn't leave pain. It was probally the stretching ligaments. But severe pain is not a good sign. Even if you feel silly calling you just need to take care of the baby. I am glad you are doing better today.

You are welcome. Just breathe and take ahold of this gift of a earlier baby and get used to the idea. I know its scary to know you will be bringing home a new baby soon. This isn't my first but I have butterflies as well. Exciting and scary :)

startingoverat37 - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Hey I would be thrilled to have a earlier due date. You will be wonderful! Good luck on the big day!

startingoverat37 - Tuesday, 12 Feb
COngrats on the earlier due date. I love when that happens and you end up further along- what a big gift! Congrats and hope you will deliver very soon.

I havent had my nipples pierced, but a good friend of mine did (she got them done just shortly before she found out she was preg) and she was able to breastfeed just fine.
