you will need a few pads just until after your milk goes down, cause people will hug you and it will leak once the milk comes in. I used a sports bra every day until milk went, it helped a lot!!

Miss. Nik - Wednesday, 16 July
Pelvic rest is where nothing can go in the vagina and you are suppose to avoid anything at all that involves the pelvic area, such as certain stretching or exercising ( prenatal or gentle yoga) bending, or lifting.
....hope that helps lol.

oh and pumping will only make the drying up process take longer

cantchacitsme - Sunday, 6 July
yes, the day you give birth go to bed with a sports bra on, thats the best advice I was ever given, then when the milk comes in you will be swollen and painful, cabbage works, but hers another method, take 2 premie or newborn diapers, wet them, put them in fridge (NOT FREEZER) and once they are cold wrap them around your breat under sports bra, when the coolness wears off just stick em back in fridge, you'll have about 3 days of pain, but that first day is the worst, especially everytime the baby cries(whether you hear it or not) oh and invest in nursing pads cause the leakage is horrible those first couple days

I didnt breastfeed with my daughter. The dr told me the same and i wore a tight sports bras and also placed cold cabbage leafs on your chest will dry your milk up faster. I know it sounds funny but it worked. It hurts a few days after the baby is born but it gets easier. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I'm still not sure what the best course of action is yet, but i am leaning towards calling her sooner rather than later. As you said she will have to face up to this at some point & building bridges now will be easier than waiting until my son is born & then attempting to sort it out. Thanks again. Best wishes with the rest of your pregnancy - Do you know what you are having? Take care

oh your welcome :)
I have no problems sharing my thoughts, and this is one of those descisions that truly impacts both parents and children! never something to take lightly just to please others...

Well this is a tough question. I'm not going to totally shelter my childern from religion. Just because I'm not sure doesn't mean that they will be unsure. I don't go to church or pray and I don't plan on taking my children. I do celebrate christmas but more as a time to get together with family. I do get a christmas tree and gifts but I think of all of that as not having ANYTHING to do with the "real" meaning of christmas. As far as any other "religious" holiday I don't participate. That's were I think that there will be a problem. I don't want my MIL getting my kids easter baskets.

I was raised Jewish, my husband is not. We really do not follow any religion at all. I believe that being Jewish is as much a cultural phenomenon as a religion. I like the food, the holidays, but we don't go to temple or anything. I did not have the bris with my first and no bris with the second. My mom is ok with it, not thrilled, but ok. do what you think is right. Remember, a Jewish mother is happy as long as her children are happy! Also, if your sons all of a sudden decide that they want a bris, it can be done at any age after they are 8 days old!

tdotali - Thursday, 26 June
Hi,

I too was raised by a jewish mother and while it's not a big deal to her that we are not having a bris, (because I also don't follow the jewish faith and think that it's an archaic tradition) it is a big deal to the rest of my family, and she was concerned about the repercussions. I told her that if they (my family) have any problems, they can talk to me about it.
I've already told my aunt and uncle and they were respectful, but I could tell that they disapproved and that they would talk about it when I was gone.
This is the way that I see it...it's your baby and your beliefs, and yes it may turn people's noses out of joint, but that is their problem and they are the one's that are going to have to deal with it.
I think as long as your respectful towards your families opinions while explaining your situation, then your family should respect your decision, even if they don't agree with it.

You know whats funny is any other time I LOVE to be surprised...b-day, x-mas...I hate when people tell me or my hubby tries to give me stuff early, but I guess with this I want to know cause potentially, I could have him 1-4 wks after the shower..I just like to be prepared: Sometimes I plan ahead toooooo much:)
