Jacobi arrived via c-section

on 4/14/08 at 4:29PM

he weighed 4lbs 6oz

and was 16 in long...

...i experianced an ecclamptic seizure and so they thought it was best to take him immediatly.h he swallowed alot of amniotic fluid when he was born and was born coughing and a screamin and when they had cleared his lungs initally was looking great,he was on cpap on 33% oxygen. but by the 2nd xray was showing signs of RDS. so they intubated him and gave him, his first round of surfactant. now we sit and wait. he is absolutly beautiful and i will be posting pics asap!!!

please pray for us we have a long road ahead!!!

WERE HAVING A BABY BOY !!!!! The ultrasound was AWESOME, everthing is in its place 10 fingers 10 toes 2 little eyes one little nose, and a STRONG steady heartbeat!!!

Hey! I took Michael for a follow up eye appt. today. It was horrible to watch! They numb and dilated his eyes so he could not feel it, but they held his eyelids open with some kind of spring loaded speculum, and then moved his eyeball around with a little metal instrument. Ugh!! His eyes look good, no ROP. They said they will see him in 6 months, then once a year until he is 6. Wow, the stuff these preemies go through. Does Jacobi have to go?

Hi ya,thanks for your comment, your right about needing a kick up the a**e sometimes,anyway,thought i would give you an update! Jack had another seizure last night!It fitting didn't last aslong as last time but the breath holding was longer and it took him about 20-30 mins for him to actually come round properly and be back 'with us'! We went back to see our doctor this morning and he has referred us to a peadiatrician,we have an appt at the hospital for tommorrow afternoon at 2:30pm!!! Hopefully we'll soon have some answers!?! We have found a breathing alarm/monitor on the internet that clips onto his nappy (diaper) so no wires and we can have it on him all the time!It also tickles his belly to stimulate breathing to. The reviews are very good and so far,it has no reported false alarms!It has been approved by a top american doc to,its expensive but itl be worth it!His first episode was in the middle of the day so an alarm that goes onto his mattress would be pointless i think! If it just gives me some peace of mind itl be well worth its money,and if it has to do its job and it works,then itl be a life saver! Hope you and your LO are ok thanks again xxx

Wow, baby Jacobi is 2 months old already and baby Justin isn't even here yet. I'm going to have a 10lb baby...oh my goodness I'm so nervous about the induction tommorow morning. Hopefully he's not too big and the induction goes quick! I will try and post pictures and the birthstory by Friday or Saturday so keep an eye out and keep us in your prayers! All your kiddies look beautiful..good job mom!
