This little tiny baby
Was sent from God above
To fill our hearts with happiness
And touch our lives with love
He must have known
We'd give our all
And always do our best
To give our precious baby love
And be grateful and so blessed

Thanks. I will write you from time to time. I am happy with my big family too. When people stare or snicker....I just smile and/or give my kids a hug or kiss to let them know I am happy and comfortable with my family.

I normally don't take the time to read these pages too much in detail but wanted to tell you that I love the story of the 'baby's conversation with God'... As a good christian gal, I must admit, I stole it... but I will put it to good use. It is just beautiful! thank you for sharing it!

LittleMrsMommy - Tuesday, 24 Jul
Congrats on your little girl!! It sure is nice to see someone else on there fourth child as well. I don't know too many people with more than 2 children nowadays. I have 2 girls, 1 boy, and 1 boy on the way. Oh, I live in Miami too! God bless you and your family.

I have an anterior placenta also. It really scared me at first when I wasn't feeling him at 20 weeks, but by like 25 weeks I felt him frequently and soon after I felt him all the time. Now he goes wild in there. So don't worry.. it will come.

Geordie - Wednesday, 18 Jul
Thanks for your message on my page. I had the amnio. It was ok. No pain at all and I feel fine. Now I just have to wait. Hope you're well.

mandiemac - Sunday, 15 Jul
Thanks for the post. Why was it you needed a c-section for? Do you have placenta problems or had c-sections in the past? I hope all is well for you. You should be taking that quad test and maybe your baby is perfect. Good luck to you.

Becca - Saturday, 14 Jul

Hi Lorie, thanks for your comment. So where you go, if something is off they call doctor right away? I am just praying all is good. I am not sure what it means when they say they 'measure' baby? Just like measure the size to make sure all is growing as it should be? Is that pretty much they mean? This is our first baby and I am not sure what to expect. I just keep praying that all is good.

I ran across this and I thought about you.... 4. Abnormal AFP Test Results AFP (Alphafetoprotein) screening is a blood test performed on pregnant mothers during the second trimester. Also known as maternal serum screening or triple marker screen, it is used to identify increased risks of certain birth defects. A twin pregnancy can produce an usually high -- or 'positive -- result.

I know I am predicted a boy, but the u/s says its a GIRL!!!!!

babyscience - Monday, 9 Jul
I just read your new post and I think they did miss date you, which can make a huge difference in that test!! That is what happened to my friend too, they put her as being a week behind. So definitely get yourself an ultrasound to confirm and only go by what that shows!

lorie - Monday, 9 Jul
Hi, I also believe it, I honestly feel everything will be fine, I just called another place to have the test redone, now I am calm, cause I have faith everything is ok. Thank you for your prayers. Blessings!

MsNic - Saturday, 7 Jul
Lorie, Just a bit of info for you... The controversy in these tests lies in many places. One of which is the accuracy of the screenings. While some claim that they have only a 5% 'false positive' rate, most research finds that there are 80+% rate of positive tests while the baby is unaffected. The false positive rates depend on many factors, including appropriate gestational age, maternal age, weight and the presence of diabetes. Of the positive test results, 90% of these babies will not have any anomalies. There may be other benign reasons for the elevated or low levels of the hormones, specifically the gestational age, or multiple pregnancies. The AFP test is generally done between the 16th and 18th weeks of pregnancy, while the triple screen can be done a bit earlier. The gestational age is very important, because the amount of hormone in your blood will vary with gestational age.

I hav a friend that had her test come up positive ofr on of the markers, she is 36. She ended up having an ultrasound and opted to have the amnio just to confirm. Everything ended up being okay and the doc said the AFP tests has a high false positive rate! So keep your head up and prayers flowing...dont give up hope!!

jeaniebeanie - Friday, 6 Jul
God bless. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Have faith

MsNic - Friday, 6 Jul
Lorie, I am so sorry to hear your news. but like you said it is just a sceening and not a diagnosis. My doc told me that if your weight is off at all on you testing or maybe you aren't as far along as you thought that these things could ulter the results. Just be positive and hope for the best, it could be nothing too.. I am thinking of you and sending big hugs your way..:)

nellys1013 - Friday, 6 Jul
hi lorie, with gods will everything will be fine. I will keep you and your baby in my prayers.

BellyDancer - Thursday, 5 Jul
Hi Lorie, WOW! You got a real....ehheem, I can't say, I'm TOO much of a lady. What a TERRIBLE doc. Maybe you got that dr. actually, because The LORD is working on his heart and YOU got to plant some seed. See, glad I refrained myself :-) Glad you're going to a new doc. SMART DECISION!! And YES, here in Wisconsin, I got all kinds of STUPID comments!! My MOST aggrevating is, 'don't you know what causes that'? Usually from some MAN! I HATE that one. But yes, I hear them all the time, 'WHAT does your husband do for a living'? or 'Are you RICH or something'. 'Don't you know the world is already over crowded'. My next in line LEAST fav, 'You know the HAVE a procedure to take of that'? Like I have a defect or something wrong. My girlfriend say's they shouldn't call it getting 'FIXED' cause that would mean it was 'broken' in the first place, when something is fixed it's made to work the way it was intended to work, since I already do, that little 'procedure' is called 'getting BROKEN'! In our home anyway. If The LORD sends us a Blessing, we know He'll provide for that Blessing. I just have faith in Him. :-) Off to tuck my little ones in, have a GREAT NIGHT!! I'll say a prayer for your family. Hugs

BellyDancer - Thursday, 5 Jul
Hi Loraine, GREAT question!! Most people NEVR ASK QUESTIONS and just go along with every little 'rourine' test. My answer is NO, I do NOT consent to take the test and I've learned to be in charge of MY body, MY pregnancy, MY baby. I read, study, am informed, and don't let myself get pushed around by a dr. :-) This didn't come natural for me. The thing is, a girlfriend of mine, (37), went through A LOT of hassle over this test, she took it and was told her baby had something called, 'Tricymate 13' (sp)?? anyway, they told her to abort because the baby would be born and only live a few hours at most, maybe look so diformed she wouldn't even want to see it and it could be emotionally disturbing to her and her husband forever to go through such a thing, etc. etc. Well, she is a Bible reading, God fearing, Christian woman saved by Christ. She decided she would have the baby, caome what may. You never saw a family so harrassed by the medical community!! Long story short, the baby was PERFECT & BEAUTIFUL!! Is getting ready to turn 3!!!! The test can be wrong, it was for her and if she would have listened to them she would have killed her son. You have to ask yourself, 'IF I take the test and it shows me something negative, would I end my pregnancy'? If the answer is NO, the WHY go through the stress of worrying??? So, I don't do it. Even if The Lord in His perfect Wisdom gave me a child the world saw as less than perfect, I wouldn't have less love for my baby. It would still be my gift from God and I know I would learn many things from the challange that would bring to my life. The point is, it's okay to say NO. :-)
