Thursday, 29 May goodness you've got your hands full with her I wish I knew what to tell you, sorry :-(
Have you talked to anyone at your local La Leche League?? You can email them or call them.
I wish you all the best, and I really hope you can stick with it. I think I'm gonna try the fenugreek cause I'm only producing about 13 ounces all day at work and my daughter needs 16ounces for the babysitters, I'll be glad when she starts solids in about 2 more months!! melsue01 -
Wednesday, 28 May she will need all your milk right now, sometimes I can go four hours and only get 2 or so ounces out of my right breast. I didn't produce alot at first either. Some people will just naturally produce more than others. And it did seem like she fed for long periods of time every hour. That I think is normal in the beginning. I really feel like your body makes what your baby needs, each baby is unique. The more often they eat, the more milk you will start to produce. i heard that as soon as you feed your baby and start to empty your breast, the milk immediately starts to come back in. And don't be fooled when pumping that you're not getting much, because the baby can get much more out of you than any pump can, I know that. How do you know the baby is still hungry after feeding? Does baby still suck like she's starving or does she cry? Do you pull her away, or does she pull away? My dr prescribed me reglan to boost my milk so I could have a reserve before going back to work.. I also heard a natural way to produce more milk is by taking fenugreek, and there are a few others. Google it and give it a try, it surely wouldn't hurt. Also even if you have to give her bottles to boost her weight, give it to her in between breastfeeding her so she doesn't get lazy on the boob and uninterested in it. And continue to pump when she drinks formula, cause the less you do it, the less you produce. Pump everytime she eats formula, and just store it in one of those breastmilk bags in the freezer, they last like 6 months in there, and you can add to them even after they're frozen if you don't get much. Every drop is precious!! I congratulate you for trying and sticking with it. It wasn't a breeze for me in the beginning either, not everyone is as natural at it, but the more you talk will others about it, you'll see that we all have problems very similar which can be worked out, so keep trying and good luck to you and you pretty little girl ;-) baby.bray -

Wednesday, 7 May How are you today? I just read that you have two teens. I have one 15-year-old who can't wait for her little sister to be born. It's also my husband's first and he's somewhere between excited and freaked out. I started having stronger contractions last night. Dr. appt. yesterday, only change is that now I'm at -1 station, still almost 4 cm. dilated/50% effaced. He mentioned old wive's tale that eating eggplant helps so we had eggplant lasagna for dinner. Also started to lose my mucus plug... contractions are still going but not as strong as last night. Maybe tonight we'll head to the hospital? I'm also scheduled for an induction on Monday at 7 a.m. since after today I'm officially past my due date. How's your pain? Any progress? Where are you from? I'll probably say the same thing to my little one when she's born... mom2teenmd -
Tuesday, 6 May My last was 15 years ago and it's so hard to know what's going on - it's like I'm a new mom all over. I don't know if I just have a terrible memory or if it's new. I'm more nervous this time around. My little girl moves a lot starting at around 7 p.m., gets more active towards the evening, all over the place by 10 p.m. and then contractions getting stronger til about 5 a.m. Last 3-4 nights I'm bent over (from pain) going to the bathroom because I feel pressure and just in case my water breaks... no water breaking (according to dr. bulging since last Tuesday). Make it back to bed, sleep a little more and wake up like NOTHING. It's all stopped! So when will she be born?? How about you? Any movements/contractions/signs baby is coming? DanaLee -
Tuesday, 6 May i know! hopefully sooner then later - congrats and best of luck to you too.. DanaLee -

Thursday, 1 May Awwww. I know it probably makes you feel a little pressured, but I think it is so sweet that everyone is so eager to meet the baby. My family and friends are great too, but my hubby is driving me nuts. :( He keeps acting like I'm crying wolf because I've been having contractions for the last two weeks. Yesterday was especially bad because they were much longer, more painful and more frequent--but still no baby! socalgal -
Wednesday, 30 April I am glad someone else can laugh at me besides myself! :D What's even funnier is that it is 100% true and my family did not think it was funny at all--they were very serious about their intervention! NOTE: Older messages are compressed to speed up the website.
