Hello, I'm Sarai... it's April 23 2008 today. My due date is June 10. Feels like time has flown since I took that test on October 15 2007!
Im 22 and pregnant with baby number 2. My beautiful daughter Ruby is 5 and a half and just started school. She is going to be the best big sis. She was a "surprise" when I was 16 but the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me. The pregnancy was uneventful and normal until I went into labour at 36 w 4 d. That was a shock! After 20 hours at the hospital (no pain relief!) Ruby was born at 5lb 8oz. I think she was 2 weeks old before I even let her out of my arms.
This pregnancy has been smooth (a few more aches and pains than I remember though!) and quite uneventful, I'm very healthy which is good! I had a checkup with my midwives at 31 weeks and was told baby is breech but has a good chance of turning around by 36 weeks... Still waiting. I so want to deliver naturally! I am doing some exercises in hopes of encouraging the big roll around but I'm not sure this stubborn little baby wants to move! If anyone has any advice would love to hear it! I think this website is wonderful I have just been told about it but have already found heaps of interesting stuff to look at and read about!

hubby ruby and i went away for long weekend, was so nice. i have been getting awul pain in my grion/bikini area at the end of the day when im standing up. Nothing i cant handle but very annoying! And today I am just so sleepy don't really feel like eating and just wanna close my eyes! Oh well as long as baby is still moving and kicking im happy. Pretty sure the little thing hasnt moved head down yet but stiilllll hoping- the midwives will tell me on May 2. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat again too, its so amazing every time! UGH i'm gonna pick my big baby up from school and then take a nap!
May 2
Im so impatient to go to my check up tonight... I feel sorry for the midwife, I will bombard her with questions!!! I cant wait to find out where the baby's little head is... If its still up I might cry. But I just feel like I need to start planning whats going to happen to me- will I deliver naturally or will it have to be c section? The not knowing is terrible... Anyway I will update after my appointment...
May 3 Saturday
Went to my appointment and now, like 18 hours later I just can't stop smiling! Baby has turned and is now in the right position. I'm soooo glad, I hope she stays that way cos I'm just sooooo happy to have a natural birth! I feel very blessed today. (I was probably over reacting the whole time but I can't help it- I guess I'm more emotional and a bit crazier than usual lol)
May 12 Monday
Had my baby shower on Saturday (day before mothers day) had lots of friends over which was so lovely and got great gifts, little baby girl is going to have lots of clothes and so many blankets to keep warm and omg so many socks! I just love baby socks. Thank goodness its a winter baby and will need to keep rugged up! I told hubby last night that we better buy some huggies as we haven't as yet- if baby comes early we aren't fully prepared (I hate that! I like everything in order!!!) He said oh relax its no big deal. HA! I am going to pick up the Mountain Buggy on Thursday which I am just so excited to do! Then she has everything she needs to come home... Bassinette is made and ready, change table is stocked (well except for nappies but I will get them this week!) The pain in my groin I have found out is due to my pelvis starting to separate- sounds ghastly but its not toooo bad- I can live with it! BH are very strong sometimes at night when I wake to pee I feel like I'm walking with two bricks in my stomach- both sides just go rock hard and it's quite uncomfortable. Oh well its only 4 weeks left and nothing can get me down! Ruby is soooo excited she cannot wait to cuddle her little sister... Hope everyone is happy and healthy also!!
May 15
I went to the hospital this morning to do the Group B strep test, and the dr also listened to baby's heartbeat (150 perfect!). She measured my tummy and said its 34cm and I'm 36 weeks, but she said it is a small baby so if I grow by my appt next week theres nothing to worry about, but with my hips I should be happy its a small one! I think everything's fine but I guess anything they say that isn't amazingly positive makes us worry. I'm picking up the pram today so I'm very excited. I will also look for some cute letters to spell out baby's name on the wall. I'm getting so impatient to cuddle her!
May 21
I didn't sleep well last night, a lot of BH and just so uncomfortable! I eventually got a few hours after 2.30ish... Very annoying. Today I'm tired and I think I could be getting some pains but I'm just taking it easy, if it's something it will progress, no need for me to get all antsy just yet! But if it is time I'm more than ready! I suppose I will take a nice walk this afternoon after lunch for something to do... It's pretty boring being so gigantic and tired!
May 25
Well I had an appt at hospital on Fri 23, head is very low, and heartbeat was fine. But the midwife asked if I would have time to hook up to the monitor just to see that everything is fine and baby gets enough oxygen- because she is small and Ruby was so little. I thought it was a bit unnecessary but agreed anyway. Hubby and Ruby were with me and the poor things were so bored- we ended up being at the hospital for an hour and a half. Baby was sleeping and they wanted her awake so I had to drink some cold water and wait for her to perk up a bit. Finally she did, and I had a lof of BH and even some period like pain while I was being monitored. Today I have had many, many very uncomfortable BH and some period pain and back pain. Nothing that would make me call the hospital or not be able to do all my normal day to day stuff but I am very excited that this could be the build up to meeting my little angel. I am so ready to meet her. But at the same time she is welcome to my body for as long as she needs it :)
May 29
Just got home from my 38 week checkup... Baby had her foot sticking right out of my belly as the midwife measured me. Heartbeat was good. My BP was a little high when I first got there but I took the stairs quite fast so thats why! She took it a second time a few mins later and I was fine. I told her that I slept super well last night and napped today and have been starving all day (I've eaten for 2 grown men I swear!) and she said it could be my body is preparing me for the "marathon" LOL. I hope so! Hubby and I are soooo eager to cuddle our baby! He hasn't been able to concentrate at work for 2 days now, sweet thing!
