A Lil About Me:

Hi Mommies to Be! My name is Lauren, I am 24 and happily preggers with my first child. I am having a little boy which we (me and my love, Dave) are naming Nathaniel David Diaz. I have never been so happy in my entire life...I never realized how amazing carrying a baby was until now!

I am a full time leasing agent at an apartment community in North Wilmington. My job is really fun and i get to interact with different people all the time and I'm not stuck behind a desk all day. Although walking around so much has been getting a little tiresome these days with the extra weight and swelling feet!

I finally decided to join this website after going on it everyday since I found out I was pregnant! I figured it time to chime in on all the great and helpful discussions I always see. Plus...it gives me a chance to talk about baby with women who know exactly what I am going through and actually like hearing about sore boobies, breastfeeding, pregnant sex, and all the other wonderful things going on in a pregnant woman's world!

When did you find out? A few days before New Year's Eve, but I knew for at least a month!

Did you have any morning sickness? All day sickness was more like it cept I never threw up
What are your fears? A lot from having complications to money worries
What are you most happy about? So far I have had a great pregnancy
Did you want a boy or girl? I wanted a girl at first because of all the cute pink dresses but Im just as happy now about a boy!
What did the father want boy or girl? He wanted a lil race car driver
Do you know what your haveing? A lil man!

How much weight have you gained? 8 pounds
Have you felt the baby move? Yup...thats the best feeling in the world!

I'm definatly not trying to make you worry anymore....I just had to get it off my mind, and Ryan was sleeping and I couldnt wake him....lol He's not working today I guess. He doesn't have too, it's just overtime. Anyway, wish I could sit in a hot tube....that sucks we can't. anyway I'll definatly try the tub, and maybe I'll be lucky enough to get a massage...lol Oh and ya Mcdonalds sucks...I hate em, they always mess things up all the time, and it drives me nuts. Cant help but go there sometimes though cause I love there fry's and m & m flurry's....Anyway, gotta to walk my friends dog now. Have a good day and we'll talk later hun..

Thanks for the reply. I am guessing that some of my family members knew that sooner or later I was going to sneak a peek at the registry and because of that bought things on it but did not report them!!!! Good luck and I hope August comes soon for both our sakes!

How ya doing hun?? I havent heard from you in a few days. I"m tellin you what, I'm so darn sore, my upper thighs, and my butt and I think the baby is droping and engaging or somthing....It sucks...But that means she's getting ready right?? I can't wait to meet her. I'm so looking forward to it like now!!!! Anyway I just wanted to say HI and see how you are and the baby and your hubby too. HOpe all is well. ttyl

visit my VIP site as well, i have lots of helpful tips to help you through. I don't know if you plan on breastfeeding given the methadone you are on or are having him go through withdrawl right away, but if you are able to breastfeed, i have tips about that on my VIP site as well.

I have heard of the envelope thing. I don't think it's a big deal. All they are doing is giving you their address. :) Go for it!

While that is one way to get people's addresses, I agree, it might be a little impersonal. So here's another idea for ya, my shower is today and my friend and sister are hosting it, and they are doing a "guess the number of cotton balls in the jar" for a door prize, but as everyone comes in, they will sign a sheet w/ their names, address, and their guess to win the door prize, that way they get something out of it, and I do too-I get their names and addresses for thank you notes. I also get the jar of cotton balls for when the baby comes--comes in real handy for cleaning the umbilical cord til it falls off. :) Any way you do it, it's good to have their addresses, most people understand new moms don't have the time to send out thank you notes, much less look up addresses. Good luck w/ your shower! :) Maybe you could still do the envelopes, but make it for a drawing of the door prize, ya know? Like have them fill it out, but tell them there will be a drawing at the end of the shower and whoever's envelope is drawn, gets the prize.
