Birth Story - Well Jacob Tyler was born on October 22nd at 3:45pm. I had gone in the night of the 21st for gel. It did nothing. After the Gel they sent me home and i went to bed. Got up at 4am the next morning and went into the hospital. The induction started at 5:30. Everything was going well. By the time the contractions were getting strong my doc allowed me to get my epidural. That was at about noon. At that point i was dialated to about 3. An hour later i was at about 4. At 2:30 pm i was at dialated to about 6. The doc came in and said that he didn't expect me to deliver until that evening. Well surprise surprise Jacob woke up and wanted to get this thing over with. I went from 6 to 10 in about an hour. I started pushing at 3:30 and he was born less than 15 minutes later. He was 7lbs, 1oz and 21 inches long. He was perfect and healthy. He did have a touch of jaundice but never needed to go under the lights. Thank goodness.
Update: December 15, 2007
Unfortunatly, less than a week after bringing him home we were back in the hospital for 3 days b/c he had viral menengitis (spelling?). Which apparently is the best kind to have (least harmful) but it is never easy seeing your 5 day old baby laying with IVs and an oxygen tubes. Thank goodness he is fine now and completely recovered from that. Shortly after that his older brother had to have surgery for his adnoids. He has completely recovered and now we are just tryign to get past the new baby regresion. Also, We are fighting a mild case of Thrush. What is awful is the medicine is worse than the thrush. It is upseting his stomach and making him just miserable. That combined with the colic is making for long days/nights. We are still successfully breast feeding, YEA! I have had to cut almost everythign out of my diet so that the colic isn't as bad. I REALLY miss mac and cheese (hehe). Well that is everything for now. Just getting ready for the holidays.

Had my doctor appt yesterday. My induction has been pushed back until the 22nd. The doctor had me in a bit of a panic b/c he thought the baby had turned again and was breech. He was also concerned with his heartrate that it was to high. So off for a sonagram we went. Everything is fine (thank goodness). The baby is head down, his heart rate was fine. He is measuring a bit small for his age but he is still within his 2 week give or take so the doctors aren't concerned. So now i am scheduled to go into the hospital sunday night for gel and then have to be back Monday mornign for induction. The docs won't let me push it back anymore b/c of GD. So if he doesn't come on his own before then he will be here monday! Wish me luck!

Well i am 30 weeks 1 day today. I had my doctor's appt yesterday and all is looking well. I am measuring exactly 30 weeks (so yea right on time). I have gained 9lbs so far. I guess that isn't to much but with my first pregnancy i only gained 3lbs from conception to birth so it seems like a lot to me!

Well i think we finally decided on a name.. Jacob Tyler. I haven't updated in a while, but here goes... I am now 29 weeks 3 days, I have gained 4lbs so far (as of almost a month ago, i go back to the docs on Aug 15th) and i am getting huge. My doctor and i are assuming i have GD even though i didn't actually take the 1 hour or the 3 hour test. She said b/c i had it with my last pregnancy there is only about a 5% chance i won't have it with this one, so why take the test. I will just test and watch and make sure that I keep the baby and myself safe! Other than that it has been an ok pregnancy. I have all the usual complaints, sore lower back, itchy streach marks, etc. The baby is sitting really low and i think he is still in a breach position but has flipped at least once and then back again. If i ever figure out how i will add pics! Hope everyone is well! Good luck ladies!
IT's A BOY!!This makes boy number 2.If the baby is as active as my two year old, then my husband and I are in trouble!hehe.Still working on a name!
I am 29 and live in Northern VA with my husband of 5 years and my 2 year old son. We are expecting baby number 2 in October. We can't wait! I am currently just hoping this pregnancy is easier than my last one. During my first pregnancy i had PCOS, gestational diabetes (diet controlled) and PUPPS at the end. So far so good. I have had a bit more morning sickness this time (i think). I didn't know i was pregnant last time until 13 weeks.
