Hi people! My friend just told me about this site and I think it's pretty awesome! Anyway, a little about me: I've been married for 10 years on Valentine's Day to my wonderful husband. He's a student pastor and we love it! I have three awesome boys: Isaac (8), Caleb (5) and Ethan, who will be 3 on our fourth baby's due date!! I'm hoping they're at least a week apart, early or late is fine with me. I will be getting my associates of the arts and sciences in May and will continue my education at University of Houston Victoria, majoring in psychology. I'm a cub scout den leader, an AWANAS 5th and 6th grade boys "teacher" and currently a cheerleading coach for the Upward Cheerleading League at our church. I know that makes me sound busy, but it's not as bad as it sounds. I have a lot of down time, and trust me - I need it. Oh, also, we are planning our third homebirth. I had our first in the hospital and it was fine, but nothing compared to the awesome-ness of being able to be in your own bed with your own clothes and being able to call all the shots!! Ok, I think that's about it.

Yea I think you are right it may be me being anemic. Everytime I get pregnant I have to get put on iron pills. I just have to remember to take them

Thanks for the encouragement! I don't know what I'm having yet. I'm only in my 11th week, but I'm already dying to know what it it! My friend was telling me that there's an old wife's tale that says if it's a girl she'll take away your beauty - so maybe it's a girl. But I dunno.

Well, the deal with the v-sec is we have to get him retested, but we were going to wait a couple months and see if we could clear the pipes if you know what I mean? The only problem is, I have morning (all day) sickness right now and my sex drive is pretty non-existent. I'm sure I'll perk back up in about 9 weeks. Did you have morning sickness? Anyway, I'm not going to force something on my husband (home birth) that I know he's not comfortable with. We're both believers, but he comes from a long line of worriers and I don't think he could handle it. I'm still trying to get excited about another baby. I feel guilty because I'm not all that happy about it yet. Thanks for the input.

I'm not ashamed of having a homebirth at all. I was just responding to the woman who was asking how to avoid the negative comments. That is how I handle the situation because I don't want to have to explain myself to anyone. I am not a hippy mamma per se, but I handle virtually all of our family 'medical' issues without the medical, if that makes sense. I just don't think I should have to or want to explain myself to anyone. I just think it is no one's business. I definately agree there is nothing to be ashamed of and birth is a very natural process that is usually only hindered by doctor intervention. But I also realize there is a time and a place for medical intervention. So anyway, that is the reasoning to why I tell people (strangers & acquaintances, not my friends) the way I do. Best wishes to you with your baby also. I'm excited for you to experience another home birth, cuz it is wonderful! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

Thank you for your comment on having a midwife. Unfortunately, my husband would never be comfortable with a home birth. I'm not sure I would either, what if something went wrong? Anyway, there is an option at an OB office where I live to have a midwife attend you and do all the prenatal vists. The delivery would still be in the hospital and a doctor would be near by if needed. The only downside that I can see is that if you have your baby when your midwife if on vacation or something you get stuck with the on call doctor. That has happened to me twice. Saw the same doctor for umpteen weeks and then get delivered by a total stranger. I was just looking for more warmth instead of the cold clinical feel you get from a doctor. I still feel like I in a dream, having a fourth baby is quite a shock for us. Thanks again!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my birth story! I see you are having your third homebirth-- that is so great, congratulations! I can't believe more people don't give birth at home, it's so wonderful to be able to pass out in your own bed & clothes afterwards! :) Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!

Allergies....yuck. Thanks for the advice. I slept about 11 hours last night, woke up and felt 10 times better. I almost think it was my body telling me that I was exhausted! Take it easy! YAY....we share the same due date :)

Armywifeyandmommy1 - Thursday, 7 Feb

Very cool! I wish my hubby would let me have a home birth. But, he thinks that anyone who would home bith is crazy. This must mean that all our friends are crazy! :) I guess it's only because I have had high blood preasure at the end of all my pregnancies and have always been induced. Are you haveing a midwife or will it just be your hubby at the birth? My best friend is pregers with baby #9 and is due the same day as me. Her hubby delivered #8 by himself on accident. The midwife arrived 20 min afterward. They may plan it that way this time. Said it was a lot more relaxing. (Her hubby is my hubby's best friend, and yes my hubby thinks he's crazy for delivering his own baby, much less for doing a home birth!)

I saw your post about weight gain. I'm joining your pity party:) Don't feel bad! I posted something about it on 24 weeks and got attacked for being too vain. Whatever! You look great in your picture! Congrats on 4 boys, wow:) We are naming my little one Ethan. Love that name! I like your other names, too. Have you picked a name yet for this one?

theshimel - Tuesday, 5 Feb
i am a believer. and i wouldn't doubt it's some kind of attack. especially since it gets under my skin the way it does. thank you for your prays!!

jacquelyn - Tuesday, 5 Feb
Thanks for the idea. I'll suggest it to her, but most of the attendees will probably be unable to resist the temptation to indulge in cute baby things anyway.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENTS ON MY BABY'S NURSERY! That makes me feel so much better. And yes, we have been so blessed with everything. It is amazing how generous people can be. I had two showers and people at work gave me a ton of stuff. Thanks again, my mind is at ease now. :)

Hi Jennifer,
I am 32 and 30 weeks pregnant (1st time) and have decided to have a home birth! I wondered if you had your 1st at home and if so how did it go? Compared with the others? Who did you have there with you and how long did it take?
Thanks : )
Ursula

Yeah, I heard they can give you a new one, but just seems like a lot of aggravation. The ones that get confused are my children, lol they often say Mommy, where is your button..

sarahtinkerbell - Monday, 4 Feb
HI there i'm really interested in having a home birth and have told my midwife such, she says i have to get to 37 weeks before my health authority will aprove of it. anyway i'll get to the point i'd like some advice and any tips you have. this will be my 4th baby, i am 31years old and i had natural hospital births with the last too - no pain relief at all. i had everything with my first.so any advice i'd love to hear it.

kerriberri74 - Sunday, 3 Feb
For my navel Hernia, they removed it the same time I had my C-section. And yes they took my belly button, which they did not tell might happen till they came in to talk to me after it was all done, and I thought they were just messing with me. So far this pregnancy I have not had any problems, other then missing my belly button lol. Good luck to you and best wishes, Hope it all works out ok

jennylynn58 - Sunday, 3 Feb
Congrats! My name is jennifer also and we are due the same day.. how have you been feeling?

mamagarces - Saturday, 2 Feb
thank you for your post. i don't think that my dr thinks i am such a good candidate for the external version though, as i have had several surgeries in the abdominal area and uterus, i am pretty high risk.
i am hoping that my little catherine will flip back on her own.

wishing you a healthy, happy pregnancy, and baby! :)
