ALL THE OLD WIVES TALES WERE WRONG!

IT'S A BOY! IT'S A BOY!

My name is Lyn, I live in 'sunny' Scotland with my fiance - Iain and my son Dylan - my best boy - he is 3. I am 40 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby! I am due on the 4/8/07, which is Dylan's birthday!!!

pregnancy

I floated through my first pregnancy with my little boy - no symptoms at all (a little tired one day haha), but this time has been very different - nausea, headaches, big boobs (not so bad Iain thinks), constipated, heartburn..... soo.... it is either a little girl or a very sneaky boy...either way we will be very happy!!! - IT IS A SNEAKY BOY!!!!

This is my boy - Dylan, he is my pride and joy and already my best friend!!!!

He is excited about the baby - and has so far had comments such as 'Is the baby eating you mummy' - priceless!!!!

This is Iain and I camping at Loch Lomond last summer.

Me and my boys!!! Dylan was trying to 'smile'!!!

My Family=3+1(on the way........)

16 weeks

I am definately feeling the baby moving. It has been happening for the last few weeks - fluttery, but today in the car I felt a definate kick!! Very exciting and reassuring!

17 weeks and one day - felt the baby on the 'outside' for the first time while lying in bed tonight. My hand was resting on my stomach and I felt quite a strong kick, as if to say 'hey this is my space!' Then felt it again a bit lower. When Iain tried to feel the baby did 'NOTHING'. Feeling the baby move alot more during the day too!

Bravado Bras at Nurtured Family

21weeks: Starting to feel big now! My back is sore and my ribs feel as though they are burning! Bad heartburn also, but on the plus side, feel that I have a bit more energy!

I have given in to temptation and we are going for a 3D scan at 26 weeks and will hopefully find out what we are having!

22 WEEKS - JUST TO CONTRADICT ALL PREDICTIONS - WE ARE HAVING A BOY! (found out today after going to hospital with cramping and suspected leaking, everything looked fine though, which is reassuring). Dylan will have a little brother, so exciting!

25 WEEKS - My little man is just like his big brother was - now right up in my ribs, and giving me SERIOUS back pain, to the point I was almost crying at work. I am going to buy some sort of support, but puzzled by all the different products - belly bras, belly bands, support girdles??? If anyone has any information on a wonder product to help my back please share!!!

29 Weeks - Time seems to be going very fast now! Only 6 weeks left at work - but who's counting haha! 11 weeks until baby arrives - getting very excited but still have soooo much to do before then!

30 Weeks - Why did I write that last week? This week has went soooo slow! Well I suppose I am actually 30 and a half weeks haha! Went to the midwife today and the baby is head down and ready to roll! I dreamt last night that the baby was born early and weighed 6lb 4oz. (Dylan was 7lb 11oz - so that would be nice!) I am starting to think about labour day again and getting nervous because I know what I am in for!

30 week bump !!!

These pictures were taken only days apart - I think you can really see the different way the baby must be lying as my tummy looks a different shape - bump start right under boobs on top picture - no wonder I have sore ribs and back!

31 weeks - Getting really excited now! Finish work in 4 weeks, so not doing anything until then except struggling through each day at work! (I seriously need a nap come 2 or 3 o'clock each day - which I don't get!) Will wait until I finish up to start getting organised. Still have alot of stuff (moses basket, crib, cot etc )from when I had Dylan so shouldn't take us too long to get ready! (I hope!) Starting to feel really heavy and clumsy - baby feels very strong inside me! I am sooooo tired!!!!!

32 Weeks (tomorrow) - haha - rushing time away!Friday! Friday! I love Friday!3 weeks left at work!I think I have started to get nesting instinct already - want to clean and organise!Don't want to tempt fate but actually feel quite good just now - apart from sore back - feel like I have quite alot of energy!Went for brisk walk with my little boy in buggy last Saturday around the loch we stay beside - got half way round and started getting Braxton Hicks - thought 'oh dear!' and staggered home!So will try not to over-do it from now on (easier said than done)!

33 Weeks - 2 weeks left at work - 10 working days - 2 more Mondays - say it anyway to make it sound less haha! Feel I will be able to relax a bit once I finish up and start getting organised for bubs arriving! Feel big and uncomfy - but the end is in sight!!!! 7 weeks to go - who knows - could be sooner - arghhh!

34 Weeks - Right.... I CAN DO THIS! 1 week left at work - only 4 and a half days! Been having LOADS of practice BH contractions this week! The baby feels huge and sooo strong - I am worrying that he will be alot bigger than Dylan was (7lb 11oz) - believe me I only just lived through that!!! If I had to put money on it - I would bet that this baby is going to arrive early (have probably just jinxed myself and will be 10 days late!) - I have loads of pressure between my legs now when I walk - didn't have any of these BH or 'pressure' with Dylan. I feel my belly is stretched out to the max!!!

35 Weeks - FINALLY FINISHED WORK! I thought I would be so excited leaving yesterday, but by the time I came to leave I was just so tired that I wanted to go home and go to sleep! Will probably take a few days to sink in and for me to wind down (or wind up and motivate myself to start getting organised!) I am going to do labour and baby bag this week. Then Iain is going to start getting baby things out of the attic. I want loads done in the house though before baby arrives - new windows, new carpets etc, so Iain is going to be a busy man!

See how my baby is doing

36 Weeks - I have just looked at the little countdown thing - 26 days to go - arghh! I am finally starting to get organised - I have packed bag for the hospital and sorted most of babies clothes and toiletries. Just the big things to sort now - pram, car seat, crib etc. Really enjoying spending time with my little boy - without rushing about to work or nursery!

37 Weeks - Don't think I will be late! Really bad low back pain last night on and off. Went shopping today and had really sharp pains between legs - hope it is my body getting ready for labour (warming up haha!) rather than my last experience of full blown labour with no warning! Need to clean crib and order moses stand and then thats me finito!

38 Weeks - I feel like CRAP today! Soooo tired, aching muscles, sore back and legs. 14 days until my due date! I can't move, Iain has to help me get up out of bed and off the couch! Dylan has gave me his Spiderman figure (his favourite toy) and told me to cuddle it because he knows I am not well - I love my boy!!! Having really sharp, shooting pains between my legs - looked it up on google and it could be my cervix dilating! Hope so! Have just ordered raspberry leaf tea - so will give that a go this week and see if it makes any difference.

39 Weeks - okay I actually feel really good just now - not frustrated or fed up at all - everyone on this site is sounding fed up and wanting their babies out by this point - but I feel fine! I think I am in denial!!!! I know the sleepless nights I am shortly about to experience and the labour so babes can just stay put haha! God I think I could go back to work - I feel better now than I did at 20 weeks (just a bit of a bigger tum!)

39 Weeks + 3 days - okay I have to admit I am getting a little anxious about when labour is going to start. I was due on the 3rd of August with my little boy and he was born at 9am on the 4th - so wasn't really late! I didn't even think I would go this long, but here I am! Going to the midwife tomorrow so we will see if baby is engaged and if so, membranes will be stripped!! Arghh! 4 days to go until my due date! My double stroller arrived today for the baby and Dylan - it looks like I am having twins!!! Dylan is currently choosing a side that he wants to sit on the stroller - I am trying to size the other side for the baby and he keeps changing where he wants to sit!

39 weeks + 6 days - due tomorrow and I am already climbing the walls - because I had Dylan one day late and went into labour during the night I feel like it is just going to happen like that again - will probably be totally different! Dylan's birthday tomorrow!

9 MONTHS PREGNANT - I LOOK SO DEPRESSED HAHA! JUST READY AND WAITING..........

40 Weeks - due today and NOTHING - still getting the same occasional cramping but not leading to anything, I am so surprised that I am still pregnant! How depressing - all of my countdowns say 'complete' and babes is not here yet! It is now a waiting game. Today is Dylan's birthday so I am of to go any enjoy that and spoil him!

40 Weeks + 1 day - offically overdue - thought my waters had broke during the night last night - as I woke up to go to the toilet (again) and my bedding was wet and felt trickling on my leg - went to hospital this morning as they told me to go in and get checked - turns out it was heavy, watery discharge. On the bright side though babes head is now engaged and the midwife gave me a sweep. Since I have got home I have had a bloody show and period cramps - hopefully things moving in the right direction. Had a little sleep today during the day just incase tonight could be the night - fingers crossed!

40 Weeks + 2 days - still very pregnant - been having contractions throughout the day - but they are not really sore just uncomfortable and noticeable. I think I am going to go mad! This little man is far too comfortable! My dad has even started asking if I am having any twinges - parents keep phoning and friends texting.... arghhh.... I am due to go back to the midwife on Wed morning (it is now Mon night 6th), for an appointment I never thought I would reach.... if all else fails I am being induced on the 14th - surely I can't go until then???

40 Weeks + 3 days - Seriously - no comment......... haha! Still having occasional contractions which I am just ignoring! Tried a new tactic tonight - Dylan and I put on the music channel while Iain was out watching the football and DANCED like maniacs! I mean boogying around the living room to Beyonce - except I wasn't shaking my butt, I was shaking my big belly!!! Dylan thought this was great as we haven't did something like that is ages because I feel I am always saying 'Mummy can't do that just now - I am too big!'

40 Weeks + 4 days - Am I really pregnant? Baby obviously loved the dancing last night because he is still inside perhaps hoping I do it again! All friends and family keep contacting us - sorry people - no news! I have to laugh - I have just looked back at my weeks 34 and 39 comments - if only I could have seen into the future haha! Just about to get dressed and go to the midwife (again) - I feel she will be surprised to see me! Oh starting to get period cramps as I am writing this - will report back later about how they lead to nothing and I am still waiting! ............ Midwife gave me another sweep and I am 2-3cm dilated - still having on and off contractions.........

40 Weeks + 5 days - And so the saga continues......contractions have completely stopped now - I feel like a fraud - I have just resigned myself to the fact that I am going to be induced on Tuesday morning and that is when it is going to happen - at least I won't be tired - I had Dylan during the night and didn't sleep for 2 days so was like a zombie! I was at the supermarket today - and so many people asked 'When ARE you due?' I was like 'I WAS due last Saturday!!!!' I am actually looking ahead just now and planning whether I will write 40 Weeks + 7 days or 41 Weeks when writing on Saturday!!!!

40 Weeks + 6 days - I am now just ignoring all the little niggling pains and contractions I am having, and just hoping that my body must be doing them for a reason - never know - I may arrive at the hospital 9cm dilated and almost ready to push because my body has been preparing for a week - wishful thinking??? Starting to worry about things now like ' Will the newborn clothes I have bought fit the baby or will he be too big?'

BABY LOGAN HAS ARRIVED!!!!!!

Born on 12th Aug 2007 - 8 days late - little monkey!

He weighed 7lb 9oz and is good as gold!

Dylan is a great big brother!

Mummy had an emergency c-section as my body would not progress past 9cm dilated - I had an epidural which I would highly recommend!

All the family are delighted with our new arrival!!!

DYLAN AND LOGAN

My beautiful baby boy!
