3/8-We started the 17p shot this week on Tuesday. I have a nurse that came out to my home and she listened to the babies and all is well. I am really starting to feel the babies a lot more. I `m starting to have back pain if I sit in an uncomfortable position for too long. Otherwise, I feel great. Our next appointment is on 3/17. We will see the babies anatomy and hopefully confirm the sex of baby A. I finally made the transition from 2 door coupe to minivan and it wasn `t as bad as I thought it would be. I `ll keep you guys updated.
4/14 Hello everybody! Long time no update. Where should I begin? A lot has happened since our last update. The appointment on 3/17 went great. We confirmed that we are having another little girl and defintely a little boy. The babies are fine. I have had several appointments since then. I began experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions about a month ago. It really scared me since we had our first daughter 13 weeks early. I spoke with my doctor's about taking a trip to Maryland and they said it would be ok. So we started off and it was one of the most uncomfortable rides I have ever had. This trip is a eight hour ride from our house. I slept for most of the visit. When we returned, I decided to go to the doctor because I was experiencing more of the somach tightnening. I explained to them that it didn't really hurt but I was concerned maybe even scared. The doctor checked my cervix and everthing felt fine. She also reduced my work hours to 4 hours a day. She scheduled me for an ultrasound to measure my cervix. At first, the results looked great. My cervix was measuring between 3.4-3.9cm. The only problem was that 3 weeks earlier I was measuring around 5.0. So my doctor sent me to my maternal fetal medicine doctor for additional follow up. I went to maternal fetal medince the next day. Now mind you I was previously released from thisgroup so you could imagine my concern. But I was delighted to learn that my cervix still measured well witihin normal range. The doctor stated that a good cervix measures between 2.6-5.0cm. My maternal fetal specialist actually measured my cervix at 4.5cm for the lowest measurement. The doctors said that the contractions were normal but not to worry. But me as usual thinking "easier said than done". I just need to remember that all of this is for the babies. So after the visit I was very relieved. My mom went with me and she has been great throughout the entire pregnancy. A couple of weeks went by and we had another appointment and all went well. Last week, I had a terrible cold and started having more Braxton Hicks than normal. I was feeling worse by Thursday and by Friday morning I was aching all over. I thought that I saw blood in my urine and I was concerned about a Urinary Tract Infection. The doctors took me in right away after I described my symptoms and she did a Fetal Fibronectin exam which came back negative. She also placed me on the monitor to observe any contractions that I may be having. She said everything looked great but she asked me what did I think about being out of work for the remainder of my pregnancy. I told her that I am willing to do whatever it takes for the babies. So as of right now we are resting well and both babies are moving a lot. I have to learn to be a stronger person and know that everything will be ok. I think I covered everything. I will update again after our next appointment on Thursday.
