To all the beautiful mothers out there..

I am now 6 weeks pregnant (19.2.08) with baby number 3 and am very happy to have conceived naturally at 45 years of age!! There is no age barrier in love and life....my partner is 44 and will be his first baby...

blessings..keep u all posted....

22.2.08

Well today I had my ultrasound and saw my little bean!! with heartbeat at 127 bpm and 7.8mm long!! It was so great to see that all was well....and that I was 6 weeks and 6 days pregnant!!! more than I expected.....still v nauseous and tired all day!! until early evening then I perk up for a few hours and can eat!!..v fussy on the eating front..cant fathom even the thought of food in morning!! Aaahh the joys of first trimester pregnancy!!!

2.3.08

8 weeks and one day and this constant queasiness and dry retching and generally feeling under the weather is driving me nuts!! Have had acupuncture 2 days ago, very slight shift but still there..gotta hang in and just ride the waves...a bit like birthing!! Its all Mother Nature's way of telling the body to learn the art of SURRENDER!!..Had it with both my boys pregnancies but cant rememeber the intensity of it..............aagghhh!!..another 4 weeks I keep telling myself...

10.3.08

Hey girls..I am 9 weeks and 2 days (and counting down to 12 weeks!!) and am so glad to have got thru last weeks AWFUL sickness and tiredness..not much fun at all....wondered how I would get thru but thank god for progestrone calming hormone!! Had acupuncture friday so felt better for 24 hours and now probably 25-30% better/clearer..still queasy but not that violent vomiting!!! oh the joys.....looking forward to end of week and seeing the down side of the hill.......hang in there precious mummas and bubbas.....its the adventure of a life time!!!

16.3.08

Well am 10 weks and 1 day counting down to 12!!!! Thought that my nausea had really shifted in week 9, even had a day of reprieve!! Thought it's all OVER!! Ha ha! this last two days have gone back a few notches..v annoying....patience, patience, patience....but happy to be moving along in this first trimester..I noticed I have wanted to eat spicy foods but I think they make my stomach churn too much afterwards..back to basics!! Anyway had DR visit all perfect as is..so we just keep dancing through!! Love to all you lovely ladies...

25.3.08

Am on the way to the end of first trimester..its been a challenging last 5 weeks as I am now 11 weeks and 3 days or there abouts!!..My older boys were with their dad over Easter and so I had much quiet time feeling better but back to school rush this morning and queasiness hit!!..I can see how any added pressures outside of calm can affect one's sickness....but grateful to have the day's while they are at school!! Just praying that in next couple of weeks I will get THAT ENERGY the books talk about...ALSO have found if I dont eat too much at night..biscuits and cheese or something light my stomach is semi ok in the morning...hanging in staying positive..

am working with my book designer to complete all the final touches to the book I am self publishing on bellydance for pregnancy and birth..v exciting (I have been teaching this for over 10 years).......available in june 2008....

1.4.08

Today we saw our little beanie!!6.5cm..v relaxed and laid back...heartbeat 159bpm...so glad all looked well..two arms, two legs, a body, a head!!!..wont know results of nuchal scan till end of week but here's hoping all well....
Nausea has shifted..well had three better days..queasy later in day rather than all day!! an improvement.. hopefully will clear within next 2 weeks max...love to all..x

20.4.08

Well I have just entered 15 weeks and although do feel energy coming back I still seem to be vomiting and dry retching and queasy after certain meals!!Anyway hoping it passes by 16 weeks (like my 2nd pregnancy)..have strated taking a great herbal iron formula and starting to takle my herbs once a day and probiotics....slowly slowly building my body back up/..and I bought a great pregnancy pillow, long thing that I can wrap around at night!!...Am also slowly packing house for our move to the country end May..look forward to the fresh air ......

2.5.08

17 WEEKS TOMORROW YAH!!!
Glad to say that this week my m/s seems to have passed- just as I thought like my 2nd pregnancy..phew what a few months..energy picking up..starting to take herbs again esp 30ml liquid iron per day..GREAT STUFF...busy packing house and look forward to moving beginning of June.....cant beleive I am almost half way..wow.....wow..wow...
starting teaching bellydance for pregnancy again which has been fantastic....great to be back taking classes afetr 4 months v little exercise.....

30.5.08

Well about to leave week 20 and half way point..feeling alot better generally..find if I stay on my liquid iron rather than tabs feel better....30 ml a day is good for me....as well as mega B's!! am also moving house next week so need the added support..such a big job one doesnt realise how much "stuff" one has until the day of moving.......

I am going to speak at a Birth Conference (DR MIchel Odent) tomorrow in Brisbane and present bellydance for birth..v exciting...keep u posted....

enjoy the days

3.7.08

WOW its been awhile since I last updated can you beleive that the time has flown so fast!!! I am approaching 26 weeks and in no time will be in trimester 3!!!!....I am feeling pretty good besides a few gall bladder aggravations and upper back pain...got to take care when sittinmg at computer girls to stay v tall and upright..no slouching and collapsing in chest!! I am busy promoting my book..doing well.....and am working on filming me for a bellydance for birth DVD next month...much to do as well as get into baby mode re what do I need for this little one!!!!

So all good..hope everyone's doing well

29.7.08

Hi ladies....well here I am week 29..I have decided that I am getting on in weeks and had better start collecting some baby wares!! Bought a change table and lovely recliner rocker in our local baby shop...the rocker is so smooth and luxurious..nearly fell asleep in shop..I think it is a great investment...
Been having some good, deep massages in upper back and feeling better besides heavier every day esp by night time.....am back to early nights and am definitely feeling that need to be a bit more internal and quiet, not too many people or overwhelm...have been v busy and one major project left to achieve...filming my DVD...trying to pace myself and stay relaxed as sometimes during the day I get the "wobbles"!!..Blood pressure good...low....have been affected by the cold air then walking into hot rooms...it sends me a bit dizzy...and slowing down my pace of walking/shopping etc...and afternoon sleeps too...

Rememeber we must pace ourselves and go slow and remain RELAXED....getting into my dancing and stretching .....

all best to everyone xx

1.9.08

Well the first day of Spring here in Australia and I am still pregnant as I pass thru the 34 week marker (the date I had my first son nearly 11 years ago)....second came at 38 weeks but it is always daunting getting thru that bench mark!! Have had a few period like cramps, seems to be when baby's head presses down upon my bladder...tightenings but no other signs of labour!!...which is great..we are hoping to get to 38 weeks plus although feeling heavy and akward at times....glad to finally be slowing down and no more committments to anyone else but my bub and family..FEELS GOOD!!! as I have had a v busy pregnancy.....did my iron stores today..keeping a check on that as still get the wobblies if do too much or talk on the phone..any intense conversations can make me feel depleted..mmmm v sensitive this time.............

5.10.08

Well today I am inpressed with myself to have made it to 39 weeks!! A first time for everything..I have been getting on/off cramping throughout day and sometimes when I sleep for last 10 days ish....and losing a little bit of clear mucous on the odd occassion..I feel myself softening and that my cervix is gearing up to efface and dilate..nice to think my body is doing this gently at this stage....

I am trying to remain relaxed and calm (my boys went to their dad's last nite for 8 days) so I have time for me, bub and partner to surrender, tune in and breeaatthhe!!...I am not getting too caught up in what it will be like but will face the labour once it starts and remain in the NOW.....that is best I can do..and not get too caught up in days/times/due dates etc....."allow the mystery to unfold" naturally..blessings and love to everyone in final week/s...xx

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hello!
How are you doing? Any twinges or signs labour may be around the corner? Today is the first day that I have felt truly uncomfortable - my back has been hurting quite a bit and walking has been a little painful. My eldest daughter had been hoping that the baby would be born today, but that was just wishful thinking! I think I am finally ready to finish with being pregnant, now it is just down to the baby to decide what day she would like to see the world for the first time. I am trying to be patient and keep busy so as not to dwell on time passing too much. It gets harder at this point (I seem to remember that from last time!!)

Third time around you would think that I wouldn't be so nervous, but I still feel very apprehensive and daunted about what lies ahead! It would be SO nice to have a more straightforward delivery this time....any advice? I have no choice but to deliver in hospital, but I am hoping to keep pain meds to a minimum if I can bear it! You seem to have such a lot of resolve and strength of character, any positive labour vibes would be very welcome!

I hope that you are well and enjoying time with your boys before they depart this weekend.
Take care and all best wishes
Valerie

Hi, I just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks for all the messages about my baby boy who I am madly in love with. i dont get a lot of time without him at the moment as he seems always to be feeding or sleeping in my arms. I used to spend so much time on this website before I had him and now have just a moment to check in and maybe write something. So anyway take care of yourselves and I love hearing from everyone. I am thinking of you all

hi everyone, I found a great website about babies and sleeping http://www.naturalchild.org/articles/sleeping.html

You are truly amazing and I am pleased for you that everything is going so well and that you have made it so far through. After planning your home/water birth for so long it would be a shame if things didn't work out. It sounds as though you are right on track. I am glad you are so organised.

I am not sure whether I will ever be 'totally ready' for the baby to arrive, but I am pleased that we are now entering October and my due date is within sight (only 7 days to go). I am trying not to focus too much on wishing time away - instead just trying to enjoy every day with my two girls and keeping on top of the regular jobs. However, I have bought enough grocery shoppping today to keep us in food for about a month (LOL!!)

I went to the cinema tonight to watch the film 'Mamma Mia' with a few girl friends. It was a nice evening and the film made me laugh so much I am sure that the endorphins will help the baby to feel happy too! Not sure that the big ice cream I ate is necessarily the best thing for the baby, but it did taste good!!

Take care and speak soon, Val x

Keep well you beautiful mommy! I'm sending tranquil labor vibrations your way.

sparklyval - Monday, 29 September
Hi! Thank you for your message. I was expecting you to have delivered by now!! I bet you are surprised to have got so far through your pregnancy as your other babies arrived so early!?
Have you been feeling well? I feel great at the moment. I have a few minor complaints, but nothing that is bothering me too greatly!! I fear this means that the baby is not ready to see the world yet though, so I am here for a bit longer!
As I don't drive I do quite a bit of walking every day, I am hoping that this may help with labour when I get to that point. Walking is a bit more uncomfortable now and I move much slower, but it is always good to get outside - especially as it is autumn here in the UK and the air is cool and fresh. I love this time of the year!
Likewise - good luck with the birth of your little one! I am so looking forward to hearing some exciting news soon.
Best wishes, Val x

Hi, very good. I am planning natural, but who knows what will happen. Very interesting, yes, there is female energy that surounds you. I wish.....that babies just come out, but all in all I would go through the pain again for Shawn. It is so worth it. I am off to rest my eyes....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Labor dust to you.

sharra - Monday, 29 September
Just checking in dear. How are you feeling. I am so anxious....so emotional-fear, excitment, joy, even sadness. It is hard to adjust to fall even though I love fall. Change.....it is scary. But, I am ready to hold my son. I am blowing labor dust your way. Take care. I will post you when Shawn arrives. 8 more days left.....lets hope.

This may be the last time you hear from me for awhile. I'm scheduled for c/s on Tuesday morning and I still have a ton of things to get done and ready before being "out of commission" for awhile. Was a little nervous earlier at my daughter's soccer game, stomach was tight for a long while and almost painfully so - different from the BH I've been having. Thank goodness it stopped after awhile but the baby is moving tonight a lot and it really is hurting. I hope not to go any earlier than Tuesday - tomorrow is my hubby's birthday and I want to enjoy his day first.

Hope all is well and I will post again as soon as I can!!!

riknlee - Saturday, 27 September
the after pains I didnt really feel. Just a couple of tugs on the old uterus when feeding. I have been feeding a lot and have lost over 10kg in a week. I strongly feel now that having such a well travelled uterus influenced how much pain I was in during the labour. I do family day care so was trying to keep my profile private as much as possible. Not that it really matters but I feel where we live is such a smaller place than America. It is only through talking to people that my family details come out, if you know what I mean. 2 weeks to go - how exciting!

riknlee - Friday, 26 September
thanks Maha but I already have 3 children aged 9, 12 and 13. I think that is why my uterus was contracting so hard. I also had half a pregnancy last year so that would be 5 all up. But my baby boy is gorgeous. I have 3 other girls so this is a change for me. they all think he is wonderful too.

shocked - Tuesday, 23 September
Just checking in on you! Nothing new here just in my final one week countdown and getting a little nervous, a little excited, etc. Not quite sure how my girls are going to get along with me in the hospital for 4 days but between my husband and my Mom, hopefully they will step up and take on a little more independence.

Keep me posted!

riknlee - Sunday, 21 September

Thank you so much. Funny you say that. I KNOW I conceived Emma right after my period. I don't care what anyone says. I even told my OB that, and he said he doubted I ovulated then. As for breatfeeding, I stopped BF'ing her in April. I got AF that same month, and we have been trying since then. I'm frustrated, because I got pregnant with her the first month of ttc. I just went to see an RE and he did an u/s to check my reserves. He could only see one ovary's follicles, as I hasd ovulated from the other recently. The one he was albe to see looked good, and he said he was encouraged. I have to go for a FSH test day three of my cycle. I don't care what they say. I know my eggs are fine. I 'm healthy, and I take good care of myself. I don't look my age, and don't feel 40. I know I can do this again.

riknlee - Friday, 19 September
He turned before labour began.
