That's good too know, I am sure her stomache is premature, she spits up all the time too. I just think it bothers me more than her :)

I looked up the Johnny Jumper and it's way different from what I've got. Mine is the Jolly Jumper brand. You can find info on www.jollyjumper.com

jazzy1stbaby - Monday, 5 May
thanks but my baby spits up every last bit of milk she drinks and it comes out really clumpy & thick even though my milk is watery

o0kathryn0o - Wednesday, 30 April
Actually, now that I think of it. We went to her 2 month vaccination appointment and I mentioned to the pedi that she started in the jumper just that week and the pedi ok'd it as long as she was comfortable. She first was only in it for 10 minutes or so until she would fall asleep in it, now she wants to go for almost an hour everyday. I found this picture of her falling asleep in it Photobucket

Oh my gosh...she's been in the jumper since she could hold her head up. She was always very strong with her legs and wanting to stand when I'd hold her. I can't remember the exact date or anything, but I think she was just over 2 months old when she first started in it, and she still loves it. All I have to say is...is it time to jump?!... and get out the frame and she's all giggles!

about the breastmilk in the eye thing: did you just put one drop in? one time? or 3 times a day for how many days? i don't know what i'm doing!

Some people just don't think. My son is still sick. I actually said something to my friend about her son getting mine sick and she said that her son didn't have a cold that he just has an ear infection and allergies, but yet he had a horrible cough, I am pretty sure neither of those cause a cough like he had.

Awesome! So they already have patients choosing to hold off so they are used to it. Good! My baby girl is doing great (other than the night waking but don't get me started!) My husband, baby and I took a great 2 hour hike (there and back) to the ocean today and the baby just loved it! She is growing too quickly for me and it makes me kinda sad! :-(

So????? how'd it go????

juliasf - Monday, 24 Mar
I'll be very interested in hearing how it goes for you and what you guys decide to do and what your Dr has to say! I'll be waiting! :-)

shazza - Monday, 24 Mar
No worries!! I think its awesome that you're informing yourself on the whole topic. It's definitely using wisdom to not make any decisions until you are comfortable with it, either way. I would just tell your pediatrician that you've decided to 'delay vaccinations' until you research it more and are comfortable with vaccinating. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!! Hope you all have a fantastic week! =)

Hey girl! We're not following the schedule thats in the book I recommended. We're not sure if we'll be vaccinating at all... we're going to keep researching and we'll revisit the issue when our little guy turns 2 years. But the one given by Dr. Stephanie Cave is this....

(Mercury-free) Hib
4 mo, 6 mo, 8 mo, 17 mo

(Mercury-free) IPV
4 mo, 6 mo, 8 mo, 17 mo (booster at 4 years)

(Mercury-free) DtaP
5 mo, 7 mo, 9 mo, 15 or 18 mo (booster at 4 years)

Pneumococcal (PREVNAR)one dose at age 2

Varicela (Varivax)
Age four, if at all

MMR
Measles – 15 mo
Rubella – 27 mo
Mumps – 39 mo
Booster – age 5

Dr. Cave recommends you get the MMR shots separated and in 3 different doses. You can ask the pharmacy to separate the MMR so that they aren't combined. It costs more, but at least if your child were to react to anything you'd know which one was the culprit. She also is an advocate against the flu shot at any time. It contains Thimersal which is very dangerous. Hope that helps you out and good luck!! =)

Hi, Strangely enough, I can't find a copy of Dr Sears' vaccine scheduler online either! But, taken from his book, for the 2 month shots he suggests getting DTaP and Rotavirus, then at 3 months Pc, HIB, then at 4 months, DTaP and Rotavirus, then at 5 months Pc, HIB. This was all taken from his book- 'The Vaccine Book'. I highly recommend you get it ASAP! I am curious what your Dr will say about it. Don't let him try and make you feel stupid. Whatever he says just say something like, 'I understand your point' and go back to 'But my decision is still to space out her vaccines.' Best of luck to you tomorrow! Let me know how it goes.

juliasf - Sunday, 23 Mar
Hi, Sure I will email you the alternative schedule later today!

mammabelly - Saturday, 22 Mar
I have done some research and decided that I would do an alternative shot schedule also. The book that shazza suggested is wonderful, along with 'The Vaccine Book' by Dr. Robert Sears (he also has a website). There are various types of alternative shot programs, just try and research it so that you have the understanding on why you are doing it so that you can be confident with your Doctor. Good luck!

Hey! Saw your post on vaccinations. After almost a year of research, we've decided to delay vaccinations until 2 years of age... we'll continue to research it more and decide if we'll vaccinate at all. We've talked to our pediatrician about it and feel its best to wait until our little ones immune system is a bit more developed. I thought I would recommend getting the book, 'What Your Doctor Might Not Tell You About Childhood Immunizations' by Dr. Stephanie Cave. Its the most balanced resource I've found, UNLIKE a lot of information you will find on the internet. The book highlights each of the diseases that there are shots for, tells you the approximate odds of your child contracting those diseases, the risks of the shots and what could happen if given in conjunction with other recommended shots, and lets you draw your own conclusions. There is an adjusted vacc. schedule in there as well, but we have chosen not to follow that particular schedule. I think the book is about $6. I think it's fantastic that you're informing yourself on the topic. Always the best thing. Good luck with your decision!! =)

I didn't space out the 2 mo shots for my son (just had them yesterday) but am considering spacing out the 4 mo shots -- have a few weeks to really research and decide. there were 3 injections (some of the vaccines are combined to cut down on the # of injections) and one oral. one thing i'd suggest, in case you don't have some already, is to get some baby tylenol beforehand to have handy. beckett's running a very slight fever and having the tylenol on hand let me dose him as soon as I picked up on it early this morning. i've seen some moms here post that the tylenol helps w/ soreness at the injection sites. also, if your husband or another person can go w/ you, bring them along to help handle the baby and just give you moral support. it was tough for me AND for the baby, lol!

Hi- I didn't space out the 2 month shots for my baby but then did a TON of research and did space out the 4 month ones. She is now 5 months and just received the 2nd half of her 4 month shots. When I told her Dr. that I wanted to space out her vaccines she actually said, 'Good choice.' I was surprised! For my baby's 2month shots she got a HIGH fever. This time around, she got no fever nor was she fussy or anything! I will be spacing out ALL of her vaccines. I read 'The Vaccine Book' by Dr. Sears which is full of info. Also check out www.thevaccinebook.com
Best of luck to you. :-)

Thanks for writing. I feel exactly the same way...I'll leave it all in God's hands. But do you think it's our hormones making us want another child so much? I did not feel this way until I had my son. I feel as though I was always meant to be a mother. I have never been so happy in my life, being pregnant and having my baby.

Amara - Friday, 22 Feb
I use the NUK kind from Target but Platex also makes a ortho brand and he keeps that in his mouth the longest!
