Baby Michael Steven K. is here! Born on July 2nd 2008.
Michael's Birth Story
Apparently, little Michael was reluctant to enter this world, because it was only at the beginning of 42nd week that I felt contractions frequent enough to suggest an onset of labor. And so to Labor&Delivery I went at aroung 10 pm.
They greeting me warmly and hooked me up to a monitor, but mentioned that they would send me home if I don't make enough progress in 2 hours.
2 hours passed and there was no progress. On top of all this, there was a nasty old lady doctor, who said that even if my doctor might think I was 3 cm dilated, she didn't think so - more likely 2,5 cm, and that she would send me home immediately, but it was time for the shift change.
We exchanged glances with my husband and started to make plans on returning home and spend another night waiting for "the real thing", but there came a nice young lady doctor who said she wanted to call my doctor first and ask his opinion. And hooray, my doctor tell her to start induction.
They started induction at around 12 am, and I requested epidural very soon after. At 3pm my own doctor came and told me to start pushing.
I pushed and pushed, and continued doing so with small break until 6 am. Then my doctor made an attempt to apply vaccuum, but the baby refused to bulge. This how I ended up with an emergency c-section, which was absolutely painless and very quick. While they were stitching me, I saw someone holding something near me. I knew that this strange figure dressed all in white was my husband in the sterile outfit they gave him, and an obscure bundle in his hands was my son (did I mentioned they took off my glasses).
Well, it appears that this extra week that Michael spent inside alllowed him to put on some weight - he was 9 lb 2 oz. Also his shoulders were wide and his head was big, so there was no way he could squeeze out in normal way. But I am glad he is finally here. Although, beats me why they didn't induce me earlier!

Mo turned 7 months on the 4th of July!
Where the heck did the time go??? 
He's such a BIG boy now! Although we had trouble in the Walmart buggy today. 
Don't think mommy had his little belt placed correctly. He fell to the side twice, but luckily never hit his head. He's in his new Britax car seat and it's SO much easier getting him in and out. I wanted to buy myself something for my birthday on Friday, but Walmart didn't have the DVD I wanted so I purchased some more clothes for Mo. If I can't buy for me then I will ALWAYS buy for Mo. 
I got him a puzzle that makes sounds when you put the pieces back in. It's so neat. It's called Farm Animals Puzzle. Got it for $10 at BELK'S. I hope all of you are well. Take care!

man.... people suck huh???? They just dont get it, how much pain should one person have to tolerate!! You were already past your due date there should have been no reason for them to even consider sending you home when you were almost 3!
Good thing it was a shift change.. I was happy for a shift change as well i completely lucked out and had the best l&d nurse ever she was a god sent and I have actually been meaning to send her a thank you note to the hospital! ever women should have had a nurse like her:)
We are doing well, i cant believe that alexa is going to be a month old already it completely blows my mind!!
Ughh the blood pressure, no its still high even being on meds, I have to go to the dr on weds to have it rechecked and possible have my meds changed again, i just want my old body back, I had geat bp and was skinny and never crying lol..
I hope you are all adjusting well. Is it a good feeling being a mommy all over again or more challenging than you thought it would be? well im glad we are all home and have our babies now. I cant believe that I have been talking to all of you since i was i think 12 weeks prego and now its been a month since she has been born and you are all my life savers and wouldnt have been so sane with out all my ladies:)

The main thing - everything is behind and you are holding your precious little big boy! He does look big and very very handsome, how much did he weight?
I am now scheduled for July,8, next day after my due date, and I will fight tooth and nail to get my status for induction changed from elective to medical; otherwise, I will be put off again.
Speedy recovery to you and I hope from this point on, everything for sure will go smoothly.

ohhh i am soo happy for you!! what an ordeal my god lol.... Arent you soo happy he is out tho and in the world finalliy!!! How is the recovery going? I swear i wish i lived close to all the ladies i have become friends with on her, dont you just want to go visit everyone and see everyones babies lol.. Well keep in touch and when you have time come join the newborn chat!!!

Well, my induction was cancelled twice now, yesterday and today. I am rescheduled for next tuesday, July,8. So, unless I go on my own, (which is unlikely) I will be overdue again.

It's any minute now for you! You expressed in the large families forum a little trepidation about having another -- particularly the cost of caring for them, it seems. This occurred to me, too, although I became more consumed with worrying about if I wasn't going to be decrepit with old-age while taking care of him! My feeling on the expense issue, especially having three teenagers now, is this: they cost a lot at the beginning... but they "pay off" in other ways at the end, LOL! I tell my older sons, "Take care of him now and he will be close to you later. You're going to need someone to drive you to your colonoscopies and help fix your lawn mower in the future." Sounds mundane and a bit crass -- but true! For all the work they can be, our children are actually our most valuable "resource" and I wish the rest of our community and culture truly embraced that instead of looking at them as only little carbon footprints.

yes im so happy , i really thought i was going in to be checked and i cant belive i got my contractions
painful, but quick ... good luck hun i took saturday night pepto bismol and then i woke up spotting ..then before i left to the hospital i took another dose ...then i found out it has asprain in it! the nurse said . well maybe the pepto helped i guess UKDUTYPAID - Tuesday, 1 July

i was talking to my grandmother this weekend, and she mentioned the same theory you had without me giving her a clue, she says that the doctors dont really know how to calculate it cause if you ended up getting pregnant closer to the next monthly cycle then your due date would be later. The again the only credibility my grandmother would have is that she had nine children of her own, and the doctor, well he has a degree. My only comfort is that both you and I are on the same boat, and we are not alone :) however, if you leave the boat sooner than me, I just might panic...
