Emma and Ella's Birth Story
So on Friday, Feb. 22nd, at 7pm ( I was 35 weeks along) I went to the hospital for my weekly non stress test. Passed the test fine, within 45 min. The nurse came in and told me everything was fine, but that I was having contractions 4-6 minutes apart, and asked if I was feeling them, and I said no, just a few braxton hicks here and there. So she called my doctor to let him know what's going on, and he said to stay and monitor the contractions. So she came back about an hr. later and they were 2-3 minutes apart, and were strong contractions, but thankfully I still couldnt' feel anything!! So around 10pm I was checked to see if I was dilated, and I was still only 1 cm. So they gave me an IV, and the nurse took out my pcerin (sorry I dont' know how to spell it!,) and that was all the excitment for that night! ! It was really weird because during the night, the contractions stopped!! Then in the morning around 9am they started again, AND I still couldn't feel them, I was in no pain at all!!! haha! I thought I was going to be able to go home!
So around 11am my doctor finally came to see m
e, and checked to see if i was dilated and I went from 1cm to 4cm! He said your not going anywhere today, the girls will be here sometime today no doubt! He scheduled me to go down to X-rays to get an ultrasound to see how the girls were laying (to decide whether it was going to be a c-section or if I can go vaginally) but Emma was still breeched and Ella was transversed! So I called my boyfriend and told him what was going on and to come back to the hospital! Around 1pm they moved me to a suite, and gave me an epidural (not because I was in pain, but to see if my doctor could re-position baby a) Epidural didn't even hurt me! I thought it was funny how my legs went completly numb! So when my doctor finally came back to check me around 4pm, he gave me a quick ultrasound to see how they were laying again, (still in the same position) then externally he tried to position baby a another way, (and that hurt like a bitch!!! ) but she still wouldn't move, so he said get me ready for surgery! Thats when I lost it! I was soo scared, I started crying! By that time, it was my mom, sister, nieces and nephew and my boyfriend with me trying to calm me down. So when they started getting me ready, that's when the epidural kicked in, I was really tired, and drowsy so I didnt' care what the hell was going on! haha.
So Im guessing around 5pm, the whe
eled me into the room, and prepped me for surgery. anthesolgist (sorry spelled wrong!) gave me something, that shot through my spine! I couldnt' understand what the guy was saying! He had an accent , so I wasn't sure what he gave me! By the time my boyfriend came in to sit by me, I was so drugged! haha. I just remember him holding my hand, and telling me he loved me! (aww :) Then they started the procedure, and i could feel the pressure and they said that's normal, but then i was really in pain, and I kept telling them I CAN FEEL THAT!! IT HURTS! and I was crying! So the next thing I knew I was knocked out!! They had to give me general anthesia! So I didn't get to see the girls first, or hear them cry or anything :( But thankfully my boyfriend took lots of pix! And he cut the umbilical cords! So at 5:43 pm, Emma Elizabeth was born weighing 4pds 8 oz. and at 5:44pm Ella Grace was born weighing 4pds 12oz. Both 18in long, and identical! Even though they were early, thankfully they were PERFECTLY healthy!

Friday, 8 Feb Hey Mamabrex2!
I love your page! It inspired me to spruice mine up a bit, but I'm totally ignorant when it comes to computer stuff. As for your question, looks like both babies are head down and in perfect spot to deliver without a c-section. I delivered my son natually and that was great, so I was hoping to do the same with the girls. I love the names you've picked out as well. We've decided not to tell anyone because everytime we tell anyone what we're thinking about they'll say something like 'i knew a girl called that who used to pick her nose?' Something like that. So we're leaving it until the day they are born before springing the news.
I love what you've chosen though....my son's name is Evan. They would go great together! But don't worry, we've already chosen and we won't steal your names!!! Congrats and hang in there...you're almost done.

Tuesday, 29 Jan Awww… Thanks! Congrats on your twin pregnancy, it truly is a blessing. I hope Baby A turns for you, cause I dreaded getting a c-section. Everybody’s body is different, it just ended up not a good experience for me… Well I can’t complain too much cause it could have been a lot worse… GOOD LUCK!
