8 week ultrasound

Feb. 12th....(8 weeks) ...had my first OB appt....everything went great! Due date is Sept. 25th 2008. Talked about an early induction due to the problems I had deliverying Tyler. She, too, agreed it was a good idea. I feel good...much better then with my first pregnancy. Just some occassional queasy's but nothing to complain about. VERY tired all the time. And my bb's are killing me!!
Feb. 21st......(9 weeks).....So finally made it to 9 weeks! Seemed like it took forever!! I still feel pretty good. I get the occassional queasy's, but nothing major at all. Over the past day or two, I have noticed my appetite is slowing increasing. I also have been craving alot of sweets. Mainly Twix candy bars.....I'm not really big on sweets except for ice cream so this is a little strange for me. I have had terrible constipation with this pregnancy. I have just started to take some colace so hopefully it will give me some relief. My bb's are feeling much much better...thank goodness! Our next Dr. oppt. is March 11th. We are looking very forward to it!
Feb. 28th....(10 weeks) .....Wow! Last week went by fast! I can only hope each week goes by that fast. So I'm feeling pretty good. I have been taking Maalox for the nightly heartburn I have been getting. I also get severe congestion at night so I have been sleeping next to a humidifier. March 7th we are scheduled for the Ultra Scan. This is a scan to determine the risk of Downs Syndrome. I'm nervous, but i think its only natural. Im hoping its something like an U/S so I can see the baby again. (and maybe get another pic...lol) And then March 11th is my appt. with my OB. Really hoping to hear the heartbeat at that appt.
March 6th.....(11 weeks) .....Ok, so....still feeling pretty crapy with this sinus thing I got going on. Seems to be a sinus infection now. Trying hard to hold off until my OB appt. on the 11th. Tomorrow I have the Ultra Screen. We are VERY excited about it.
Update
Ok, went for the scan today. They said the baby is just a little too small. Need to wait a couple more days before they can take the necessary measurements. We re-scheduled it for the 18th. Got a pic though and got see the baby doing a headstand then a back flip! Was so AWESOME to see!
11 week Ultra Sound

Update
Went for my monthly check-up this morning. (March 11th) Everything is perfect. Tried to listen to the babies heartbeat via doppler. Only heard it for a brief moment as the baby wouldnt sit still long enough! LOL So they took us over to the U/S room and we saw the heartbeat. Not the same as hearing it but VERY glad to see all is well.
March 13th....(12 weeks) ......I feel like crap! I have the worst ever case of sinusitis/sinus infection and all my doctors say I cant take any antibiotics. That I have to let this just run its course. Easier said then done! This has been going on for the better part of a month allready. I sleep with nasal strips and a humidifier. They said I can take Sudafed but the congestion is just so bad nothing gives me any relief. I can't sleep and I cant eat. They told me to stay in, eat well, drink lots and this should pass in about a month. Easy for them to say. I have such cabin fever cause I dont feel well enough to go anywhere. I take 2 sometimes 3 hot showers a day as it seems that the only way I can get some relief with this congestion. I'm so upset, depressed and sick of feeling this way. I truly pray it ends soon.
Update
FINALLY got my primary to call in a script for Amoxicillin*. Hopefully in a few days I will slowly start feeling better.
Update
Had the scan today,(March 18th), went great. We get the results at our next Dr.'s visit on April 8th. Baby is VERY active! Here is a pic from todays scan at 12 weeks and 5 days. Look how he/she is stretching out his/her legs!
12 week Ultra Sound

March 20th... (13 weeks) .... Ok...so still fighting this sinus thing...but deff. getting better. I have been craving chicken salad on bagels for days now..lol....I have noticed I am eating ALOT more these days...prego wise, i feel great! Just waiting for this sinus thing to clear up.
March 27th...(14 weeks) ....Feeling pretty good! Sinus infection seems to be much better. However I still have that annoying prego symptom of congestion. But deff better then what it was. Got the phone call from the nurse at my OB with the results from the Ultra Scan. She said everything is PERFECT! Pheww....what a relief! For some reason I am alot more worried about this baby then I was with Tyler. The baby movements have graduated from "flutters" to "squirms"...lol. Cant wait until they come more often! Our next check-up is April 8th.
April 3rd....(15 weeks) .....Made it to 15 weeks now! I feel good. Still got this really annoying prego congestion though. But its tolerable for now. I'm feeling more and more anxious about finding out the sex of the baby. Most people say I'm having a girl. I would love to have one but I love my boy and cant imagine myself with anything other then boys...LOL...Speaking of Tyler, today is his 10th birthday! Can you believe it!? 10 years old! Cant believe I am starting all over again! LOL Anyhow, I feel pretty good and Im keeping very busy with day to day life around here. I cant wait for things to calm down so I can breath! Our next check-up is April 8th. I will enter in an update then.
April 10th.... (16 weeks) .....So we had our Dr.'s appt. and all is good! Heard the baby's heartbeat, loud and strong. Got a huge thumbs up from my Dr. to take Musinex-D for my severe congestion at night. IT HAS DONE WONDERS! I highly reccommed it to anyone who is suffering from that annoying prego symptom. We scheduled out next Dr.'s appt. for May 5th. We will also have our 20 week u/s at that visit and find out the sex!! YEY! (as long as the baby cooperates!) I still havent gained any weight. Me and Brian are noticing that its just shifting...LOL....which im totally thrilled about! By this time with my first pregnancy i had allready gained 20lbs! So, feeling good, i have my good days and my bad days, but considering all the things my body is going through right now im doing good!
April 17th... (17 weeks) ....Another week gone by! Feeling good.....eating alot more...LOL....started to have some swelling in my feet and ankles but nothing too major. I'm really starting to feel the baby move now. I cant wait until Brian will be able to feel him/her move around. May 5th!!! Counting down the days!!
April 24th.... (18 weeks) ....Ok..went into the Dr. yesterday. The swelling in my ankles was causing some pain/tenderness. I didnt have that when I was pg with Tyler so I wanted to make sure it was nothing to worry about. Doc says its not and that me and baby are doing great! I finally gained 1 pound...LOL.... Tyler came to the appt. with us, hes off from school this week. So he got to hear the baby's heartbeat. He was very excited about it. The Dr. had to "fight" with the baby to get the heartbeat....LOL....he/she kept moving around...LOL..the Dr. repeatedly tried to roll the baby over to get the heartbeat. He/she was not having it! LOL I guess the baby likes to lay face down...LOL And still...the count down continues to May 5th! LOL Lets hope the baby isnt as stuborn for that!
May 1st..... (19 weeks) .... So.....my congestion is getting better...knock on wood..lol. I'm feeling the baby move alot more. Starting to get actual kicks and jabs along with the squirms...lol...i just love feeling the baby move! Over-all, considering the changes that are happening to my body and all the work its doing right now, i feel pretty good! We went and ordered the furniture today for the babies room and we started our baby registery. We only put items on the registry that were gender neutral until we find out the sex then we will finish the registry. LOOK FOR OUR UPDATE! MONDAY, MAY 5TH IS THE BIG DAY!!
Update
May 5th....
It's a......
BOY!
May 8th... (20 weeks) Still feeling pretty good. Dealing with the daily heartburn. Maalox has become my best friend. I take it everywhere I go...LOL Also still dealing with the congestion. Its alot more bareable these days, with exception to the occassional REAL bad day due to allergies. I'm feeling him move ALOT! Dr. says hes breech which would explain the constant kicks to my bladder...LOL We are now on the hunt for bedding and decor for his room. And even more important.....a name for him!! LOL
Update
May 8th...My niece is born!
Danielle Marie born at 6:22pm
7lbs 6oz.
20 1/4 long
May 11th.....
May 15th .... (21 weeks) .... Feeling pretty darn good this week! Shane is breech and playing soccer with my bladder but otherwise I'm good! People keep putting their hand on my tummy and asking "is he moving?" Why yes he is, but hes breech so you cant put your hand where he is kicking...lol...you'd have to put your hand down the front of my draws to feel him kick! LOL I have started to have some occassional BH contractions. Most of the time they are relatively painless. But sometimes they are pretty strong. Shane still wont let daddy or big brother Tyler feel him move yet....LOL...stuborn little guy! Maybe next week.
May 22 ...(22 weeks) .... Another relatively good week! Just alot of movement from Shane. Which I just LOVE! I think I'm fighting a little cold but not too bad. We started painting Shanes room yesterday. We are in love with our color choice. And now we are getting real anxious to get his room put together. Still having some BH Contractions. I suppose they will continue through the rest of the pregnancy. In Cann news.....Brian felt Shane kick a few time this morning!! FINALLY! lol...and he even felt a squirm...lol...Brian was very excited and happy. Now we have to get Shane to cooperate for Tyler. :)
May 29th.... (23 weeks).... Only 17 more to go! YEY! LOL Shane is super active now! I love every moment of feeling him punch, kick, twist and turn. I'm feeling good.....considering...LOL...my allergies have been real bad lately. But nothing I cant deal with. I have ever increasing BH contractions. Im slowly reaching the breaking point..LOL...although, compaired to my first sons pregnancy this one is a piece of cake...im almost over it...LOL I just want him here allready. Im tired of the heartburn, the tossing and turning at night, the difficulty getting on and off the couch and in and out of bed. The swollen feet and my new cankles. My boobs have gotten so big they annoy the crap outta me! Oh and the best part!? I woke up last night to go pee, one of several...and im now leaking!! Yep!! You got it! Right boob has begun to leak! Wonderful! Just add it to the long list of body changes! LOL And its only gonna get worse! UGH!
Update
June 2nd.....I had my monthly Dr.'s appt. this morning. Everything went ok I guess. I gained 4 pounds this month. Not bad! I'm measuring right on track. His heartbeat is beautiful as ever and hes, of course, VERY active. On the other hand, I failed my 1 hour glucose test. :( So now I have to go take the 3 hour glucose test. I'm not happy at all. Im very upset and worried about the outcome. Things dont normally bother me. But this just totally has me so upset and worried. But what am I gonna do. I have learned that I no longer have control over my body anymore. Until he's born, its Shanes and things are what they are.
June 5th ....(24 weeks) ..... Well...another week gone by. I seem to be holding my own...lol Shane is even more active now. I have noticed he has a "schedule". When I lift up my shirt you can see him moving now...lol...Brian saw him move from the other side of the room the other day...lol Tyler still hasnt been able to see or feel him. Shane stops everytime Tyler comes around...LOL I think its funny...kinda like Shane is allready playing jokes and annoying his big brother...lol At this point and time I am craving Mr. Softee and german cucumber salad...lol...MMMMmmmm....
June 12th ...(25 weeks) .... Everything is still about the same. LOTS of movement from Shane. LOTS of swelling which can be painfull and uncomfortable at times. Just trying real hard to watch my salt intake and whenever possible put my feet up. (easier said then done) Still eating lots of german cucumber salad..lol Oh and bbq ribs!! I have been having a BIG hankering for those. The ribs are one of Tylers favorites so hes real happy about that....lol Speaking of Tyler, he FINALLY got to feel Shane move and SEE him move and glide around in my tummy...I think it made Tylers week! He is getting more and more excited about being a big brother. THANK GOODNESS! Me and Brian were so worried for awhile about how he would be. But now that its becoming more of a reality to him and getting closer hes just tickled about it. Roll on week 40!!
June 19th .... (26 weeks) .... Another week gone by. No real changes. Minor swelling of my hands, feet and ankles. Some heartburn, mostly at night while trying to sleep. Still up about 4 times a night to pee. Still moody as anything. Still having allergy issues. The only real noticable change this week is that I'm finding it increasingly difficult to sleep. I have a hard time getting comfy and staying comfy. Things could always be worse!
June 26th .... (27 weeks) ..... Same old, same old...LOL...Although I am having some big issues with swelling this week. The weather has been rather warm so i know thats contributing. I think Shane might have finally flipped out of the breach position. Im not sure though. Hoping I can find out at my Dr.'s appt. on monday the 30th. Hes doing alot of what feels like to be stretching in there. Rather uncomfy at times...LOL But still loving it none the less. Roughly 13 more weeks to go!
Update:
June 30th: Had my check-up today. Everything looks great. I'm measuring right on track. I have gained 6 pounds in the last month which makes a total of 12 pounds so far! Very proud of myself considering I gained 68 pounds with my first. My blood pressure is excellent they said. Shanes heart is super strong...allthough, AS USUAL, it was a fight trying to hear it...LOL...from day one this kid hates us listening to him...LOL At 36 weeks they will do an ultrasound to check Shanes weight. At which time we will further discuss induction. She mentioned today that as long as i have some dialation and/or effacement we will induce early. I now start going every two weeks. So my next appt. is on July 15th.
July 3rd ... (28 weeks) .... First day of my 3rd Trimester! So I took my 3 hour GD test yesterday. Boy that was NOT fun! By the time they were done with me I looked like a human pin cushion. But Brian took me out to eat to make up for all the fasting I had to do in preperation for this test...and let me tell you...I ATE!! LOL This week my swelling has been terrible! Both Brian and I have done crazy amounts of research and spoken with my Dr.'s about ways to relieve it. And, as we figured, Im doing everything I can. Some women are just more suseptable to it then others. Lucky me! If it werent for the darn swelling i would be feeling great. But some days i cant even walk and its soooo painful! Im trying my best to not be a cry baby as this pregnancy has been alot smoother then Tyler's. Roughly 12 more weeks go....I CAN'T WAIT!
Update
So....it seems as though my previous concerns about the glucose testing were lagit. I got the bad news this afternoon. I have Gestational Diabetes. I have an appt. on July 7th with a nutritionist and a speciaslist to teach me how to manage it. I know its not the end of the world...by no means. But the thought of pricking my finger 4x a day makes me cry hysterically. I would rather have blood drawn from my arm then have to prick my finger. Call me a baby, but its how i feel.

July 10th ..... (29 weeks) .... Well, this has been a challenging few days for me. Managing this GD is NOT as easy as they make it sound. Especially with all the cravings that I'm NOT allowed to have. I feel good about myself in the fact that I am eating healthier and getting more excersize. BUT its not easy. I think it might be a smidgen easier if I wasnt cutting salt out of my diet as well. But since i cut salt out, my swelling has gotten so much better. I have managed to get my blood sugar well below what they want. So that makes me real happy. Im just having a little problem with my morning fast blood sugar. And I know its from the ice cream I am having at night. I switched to no sugar added, it helped a little bit but Im still 10 points above where i should be. How do I satisfy my ice cream and sweet craving and get my numbers where they need to be in the morning? I allready cut down how much I have and have stopped putting whipped cream on. :( The only thing I can think to try is maybe have it earlier in the evening. Anyhow, enough about that. Shane is SUPER active these days. Some of his movements actually hurt! LOL And some still make me giggle cause they tickle....LOL....I have my next appt. on Tues. the 15th. Im soooooo tired of being prego and just want it over with and to have Shane here and get on with our lives.
July 17th .....(30 weeks).... Wow! What a milestone! 30 weeks and counting! LOL So, I'm doing MUCH better this week with the whole GD thing. I got the hang of it now. My levels have been great! I had a Dr.'s appt. yesterday. .Shanes heartbeat sounds beautiful! I'm now measuring perfectly on track since starting the GD diet. (Last week i measured a tad big) I also lost a pound so Im back to a total weight gain of 12 pounds. We talked briefly about the added u/s that I will be getting because of the GD. And my Dr. also told us about a test that i will need to have done once a week also called the Biophysical Profile. It includes an u/s and its just to help keep a close eye on Shanes growth and make sure hes not getting too big. But we did forget to ask when those would start...LOL I'm sure not for a few weeks atleast. Hes moving around like a little mad man these days..lol...My next appt. is July 30th.
July 19th, Our Baby Shower!

July 24th ....(31 weeks).... Only 9 more to go! (at the most!) YEY! lol.....Not too much has changed this week. We had our baby shower though! What a great surprise! My best friend threw it and totally shocked me! She threw my baby shower for my first son 10 years ago also. And I was completely surprised then too! lol....The food was excellent, the color scheme was chocolate brown and blue just like Shanes room...i thought that was super cute! We got alot of stuff that we needed, but still need more..lol...isnt that how it is though?! LOL...We are almost finished with Shanes room. Its coming together soooo nice! I cant wait to use it! lol....On another note....Shane is killing me! lol.....hes doing stretches in there that cause alot of discomfort at times...lol..He's also making a habit of sticking his butt out just like his big brother Tyler did! No new stretch marks....so far...lol...still working on the ones Tyler gave me..lol...but they are so old and faded that you dont even really see them anyway. Its getting VERY difficult for me to roll out of bed now. I'm up, no joke, EVERY hour and half peeing during the night. That makes it difficult for a good nights sleep. But i guess its all in preperation for the night feedings I will be doing...lol....C'mon week 40!
July 31st... (32 weeks).... UGH! Not much has really changed. Im just getting more and more uncomfortable. Which, in turn, is making me moody and bitchy as all hell! I'm just SOOOO done with being prego. I cant wait to sleep on my stomach again. I can't wait to eat like a normal person again. I can't wait to move around like a normal person again. Basically, in a nut shell, I can't wait to be a NORMAL PERSON AGAIN! Roll on....Roll on.....
August 7th.... (33 weeks).... So now, I have a TON of pressure down low. I can't walk or stand for too long because of it. Its very uncomfortable. And to add to it my bathroom trips have increased dramatically while the amount i pee has decreased dramatically! I guess hes just getting too heavy in there. Well, let me correct that, I KNOW he's getting too heavy in there! I have a Dr.'s appt. on Aug. 14th. At which time we will schedule our first Biophysical Profile. Im so anxious for that. I cant wait to see my boy and find out how he is doing in there. Chugging right along....
August 14th.... (34 weeks).... Ok, Im soooooo done! This has prob. been my worst week ever! Im so uncomfortable. I can't sleep, eat, and i can barely move! Anyhow, I had my Dr.'s appt. today. He is pleased. He said I'm doing great with keeping my GD under check. I didnt' loose or gain any weight. So still holding at 10lbs. Blood pressure and urine are perfect. I measure perfect and Shanes heart sounds perfect. He also told me that he will not let me go past another 4 weeks!!! YEY!! Im so excited about this! So by week 38 little Shane should be here! He also informed me that if i went into labor at this point they would not stop it. All in all great news! We are in the home stretch! I have an Ultrasound scheduled for August 27th to get an estimated weight on Shane. Then on August 28th we are having the BPP test done and emmediatley following our regular appt. NOT LONG NOW!!! :)
August 21st..... (35 weeks)..... Developed a TERRIBLE ear infection this week. The pain was horrible. I'm on Amoxacillin for it. I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!
August 28th.... (36 weeks)..... So we had the Biophysical Profile (BPP) done yesterday. First thing they did was an U/S. This was to get an idea of Shanes size. He is about 7lbs 6oz. LOL! We were able to see that he had tons of hair. He was also practicing his breathing. The fluid level surrounding him is also perfect. And yes, hes still a boy...lol...it didnt fall off...lol. Then from there we went into another room for 20 mins. of monitoring. They hooked me up to two diff. monitors. One to monitor Shanes heart rate during resting and movement. They want to see that when he moves his heart rate goes up. Then the other was to watch me for any regular contractions that I might be having. All checked out perfect there too. Then we went into the regular exam room for our regular Dr.'s visit. Aside from the yeast infection i have due to the anitbiotics everything is perfect. Im holding my weight gain at 10lbs still. Blood pressure is perfect, urine is perfect, Shane is perfect and handling the GD very well. They were also very happy with my BS levels. So they said lets take it one week at a time. I have to have these tests run all over again on Thurs. lol....
