My profile

Hi, my husband and i are expecting our second baby. Little Jaime Skye is three years old and most days she is very excited about having a little brother. His name is Kieran Charlie.

This pregnancy is way different to the first, and not in a good way. While i gained much less weight, i feel so much worse. with the first i worked right up until i went into labor. this time the pain and discomfort is too much, i went on bedrest at 36 weeks. so now its a waiting game...

can't wait to meet the newest addition to the family, but i am also not looking forward to delivery... :(

But you don't want the baby to get too big ; you're past your due date, right?
I'll be induced a week early, so about Sept. 10 I'll be having him. The reason is not a medical one but my doctor is due the same day I am (Sept. 17) and I really would like her to deliver my baby. As long as her baby doesn't come too early, she'll be with me when I have my little boy. Overall feeling good, but at the end of the day and during the night it gets really uncomfortable. Is your daughter excited? Mine is! I wish you the best of luck with your delivery and hopefully he decides to come soon!!!

hi there, I just typed in flu like symptoms + labor into google as I had heard it can be a sign at the end and loads of websites came up. Check it out. I feel awful so I hope it is a sign! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy x

Hi, just checking on you. Any news yet? Hopefully you are enjoying your maternity leave and I hope everything goes well with your delivery! (if it hasn't happened yet). Good luck!!!

Lucky you!
Yeah, the pain sucks, but it's normal at this stage. Same here, pregnancy going well, my only complaint is tireness and discomfort, sometimes pain. Back pain sometimes is worse, but still managable.
Your daughter is adorable! She's very close in age to my daughter; she'll be 4 next January. I'm having a boy this time, which I'm very excited about but it's kinda boring to buy clothes for a boy. Whenever I've tried to buy clothes for him I end up buying thigs for my daughter . I still haven't shopped for clothes, I have my baby-shower in August so I'll go from there. What are you having? Are you ready?

Hi, no, I'm an accountant at an engineering firm. Just regular benefits, a couple of disability insurances that combined will pay about 6 weeks up to 60% of my salary. I'll have about 3 weeks of vacation/PTO, so not too bad I guess. It could be better but it also could be worse! How is your pregnancy going?

You have the right idea about seeing a chiropracter for pelvic pain. I am too. My doc didnt recognize it either and actually wanted to give me vicodin for the pain instead of treating the cause! I am also swimming-- and that really helps as well. Good luck!

Oh how cool! I have always wanted to go to South Africa! Well, I am mostly Mexican with a tiny bit of Irish, and my husband is black and he is very light complected...and i am normal and tan...We are so excited to see what she looks like!!!

LOL! My husband is "blaxican" and I told my friend La Niece that I need a lesson in hair before the baby gets here! My stepdaugheter's hair is just very curly, but you never know at what strength certain genes will come through! If my baby ends up being a girl with hair like your adorable daughter, I will be a very happy camper, but a very happy camper who needs lessons!

I just had to tell you that I too have the most annoying "vagina" pain. I feel it most when I am rolling around in bed trying to get comfortable!! I guess i feel it more then because I am usung that lower body strength to move myself. Oh, I hope you don't mind me asking, but is your little girl in the picture mixed? I am having a bi-racial baby, and I am SO excited to see what she looks like! She is sooo cute!!

Hi, Madison and Isabella are both on our short list. I think they are both very pretty.
Thanks

Oh my! Could your little girl be any cuter? What a doll! I love her hair!

Yeah, I guess I should have asked more questions. I was just so thrown off by them saying it was ok for me to leave now, without even speaking with a doctor that I didn't know what to say! Glad you got someone to answer your questions!

I"m not exactly sure the amount but they take all your records of employment and you get about 60% of what you've made over the last year on average I think. You're 100% salary is great! But I can't imagine having to go back to work after 3 months. Don't even know how I'll do it after a year! When I go back it'll be part time for sure. And you're right, the doctor you have makes all the difference in the world!

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate the fact that it's not just me going insane and they really do seem to get worse with each pregnancy. Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy x

Congrats. Ya I feel the same way...im ready to not be pregnant anymore. Although I dont want her to come out too soon. i want her to be healthy and perfect. I hate being tierd all the time and my back pain is crazy...I swear...the things women have to go through. I keep letting my bf know :) to make him feel bad, or just to treat me to what ever i want. Right now he's locked up, but he will be out a month after to baby is born. i miss him :( I cant wait to hold my little girl and him. Anyway, I hope that all is well.

When it comes to maternity benefits I am so thankful to be in Canada! We get 15 weeks sick leave if we need it then 15 weeks maternity leave and 32 weeks parental leave. Which can be all consecutive. So many of the US moms here are going back to work after 6 weeks and I can't even imagine! Have fun at the doctors listening to your little beans heartbeat!

joelisa - Tuesday, 15 July
your little girl is tooooo cute, so what are you having this time....boy or girl?

BeansMom - Tuesday, 15 July
My doc wrote a note stating that I was to stop working due to "pregnancy complications" which for me was joint and back pain. I gave this note along with my record of employment to the employment office when I applied for sick leave. The sick leave will automatically roll over in to my maternity leave. I'm in BC Canada so not sure if the same applies wherever you are but it was easy enough for me and I have several new mom friends who went through the same process. I hope you get it because I am much happier not working!

BeansMom - Monday, 14 July
I just asked my doctor if he could write me a note excusing me from work. I told him I was having pain which the nature of my job was only making worse. No questions asked he did the note up that second. I've been off work for a week now and my pain is gone, I can nap when tired so my energy is more balanced, and I'm getting all my house stuff done so if you can do it, DO IT!!! Good luck!

Hey,
It is my first baby. I definately think stress is a huge factor. My dog hurt her leg really bad and when it happened I had like a 5 minute contraction. I have to try and keep myself as calm as possible, although that seems to be hard these days. My midwfe says to take it easy, which is hard since we are building a house ourselves right now! I hope everything works out okay for you. I have not had any fluid leakage, that must be a little scary. The good thing is we are getting to the point where our little ones will be okay if they are born early, not that we want them to come yet ;)

kristy4994 - Sunday, 29 June
Luckily I stopped working a few days ago. It was really hard on me to finish up the school year and it came with a lot of stress. My midwife is waiting to see if things calm down now that I am less stressed out. I wake up everymorning with intense pressure and pain down really low where her head is. I have an appointement to see her tomorrow I will let you know how it goes. It's hard to know what is normal and what is not... and I hate being a whiner. I asked on here a few times if anyone else was having that problem and there were no replies so I am thinking its not so normal. I hope you feel better soon.
