I am pregnant with my second child and anxiously awaiting his arrival. I am nervous about labor and am not quite sure what to expect. I have been to the hospital twice with false alarms. With my first my water broke before I had any contractions and I really did not feel many before I decided to have an epi so I am stressing about how am I going to know it is time. My last trip to the hospital...last night...showed that I am 1-2 dilated and 25% effaced.

Well I had my appt. It has been a week since my trip to the hospital and I have made a little progress. I am still 1-2 dialated but now I am 50% effaced. Doesn't sound like a lot of progress but at this point in the game any is GREAT. She estimated that he now weighs maybe a little bit more than 6 lbs. She said that if I have not had him by the week of my due date she may go ahead and induce on the 17th...wow a whole 2 days before my due date on the 19th.

Is 11:08 here and I am in the hospital on the pitocin, I am having contractions about every 3 minutes now. I came in at 8:00 and got started on the pitocin around 9. When I was checked when I first came in I was dialated to 3 and 75% effaced at a 0 station. So I should have my little boy here by the end of today. I am just hoping for an easy delivery. Please. Please. Please.

3:34pm July 17th. They made me wait till the next morning before they put me on pitocin because they wanted to see if if would go into labor on my own first the night before after they put that pill in my cervix. (Cytotex or something like that), so that didnt work so at 10:30am they started the pitocin drip and it didnt take much- 5 hours later she was born. 7 lbs 9 oz 20 inches long.

tnx for the nursery cmnt, i just saw it. yah I did some brown and lime green....some light blue also. it started out with a jungle animals theme then it became a mix of like 3 different themes. oh well. how are you feeling?

yur lucky, for some reason they would not give me pitocin right away and I thought they would. But they wanted to try the vaginal insert pill first so as to try to start labor naturally without having to use pitocin. I just wanted to get it over with but now it looks like i will be here all day. I'm here now waiting for something to happen. I wasn't seen until 5pm :( You most likely have your baby in your arms by now. It's going to be a longggg night for me.

the accu[pressure worked like a charm to get my contractions started. so I'm still at home now waiting for them to get strong enough to head to the hospital so we shall see. how you doing over there?

I was so afraid that I wouldn't know when it started either! In fact the whole "heading to the hospital" scene was very anti-climactic to us! If you start shaking like mad - call an ambulance! I had no idea that was a sign of labor and about an hour before they told me to push I started shaking, and they said that it was a sign that it was close. I shook for about 15 minutes after Anna was born as well. Seeing as how you have an hour drive, I thought I'd throw that in there. I wasn't really cold, just shaking like I was standing outside in freezing temps dressed for summer!

Hello! Nope no baby yet! I have just been boiling and really just havent had too much to say, nothing is changing and I get tired of being a crab

...haha.actually yesterday I spent the day cleaning..haha...and fixing up the baby room! yay! If the baby comes now then I am as ready as I can be for him! I cant wait actually! I even mustered up enough to do the baby dance last night LOL! which is a big thing since it has been more than 3 months! haha! dont know...just havent had much of a sex drive since the pregnancy and...it doesnt help when Im always mad at baby daddy...
Im glad your room is coming together! it feels really good to know that that is done and...it doesnt take long to put togther once the construction is done! I hope your appointmnt goes well hun! let me know!

well...the appointment went well but I havent gotten any further dilation but she did do the sweep and said that it might quicken the pace...we will see...nothing seems to have changed so far...hmmm. the room is almost done. my ma and I worked on it al day yesterday only for rob to come home and mess it all up again doing the electrical...grrr...oh well...at least we are more ready for if the baby makes a quick appearance!
thats great your dad is teaching your husband! thts good bonding time for sure!

oh thats great news! I was 1 cm last thursday so we will see where I am at this thursday! ya...renos ae taking forever and currently I am not speaking to baby daddy as he keeps promising me it will be done and and then every time it is supposed to be done it....Isnt. we just got half the electrical hooked up today but...uhg...I just cant talk about it anymore...haha. If he wouldnt TELL me it would be completed soon then maybe I wouldnt get soooo choked at him. funny how he alwas has time for beer though...grrrr...its canada day today and I told him to go ahead to the bbq without me cuz...well, im sore and tired and walking around on the innertube style feet! haha...and frankly dont wanna be near him...so there.
I hope you get your room done. it is so frustrating when this NEED to nest is present and getting stronger everyday! You have a great evening!

lol thats a great idea, and I've also said that I get to name our next without daddy's argument of not liking it... I love the name Kadence and he doesnt I also like Braydon and he doesnt, so I said I'll let him be the main decider in this baby's name, then next one is mine...lol We'll see if it works out that way though, but I'll keep what you did in mind for sure..Thanks hun, have a great day

Thanks for the advice! I've thought about that stuff, but I'm too scared to try it. I'm hoping walking might help some. The doctor's said at my last appointment that she's measuring very large so I'll have an ultrasound Wednesday to get a weight estimate. Maybe they will decide to induce if she's real big. I think she has a good chance of being big because I was a 10 pound baby and so was my grandma, aunt, and uncle. Wish me luck
