What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the afternoon.

After a labor lasting approximately 3 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and will be 20-1/2 inches long. This child will have light brown eyes and a lot of hair.

Hey- thanks for the congratulations. How is the first trimester treating you? Are you getting any morning sickness or weird cravings? Week 10... you are due for another ultrasound soon, right? We are getting NO sleep over here. Elijah is very loved but drives us crazy at times. Mommyhood is truly awesome. I can see why you are doing it again and again...

Yes- we had the baby!! So sorry to reply so late, it's been a hectic two weeks. Here are the details:

My water broke around 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning July 3rd (after what felt like a whole night of really painful menstrual cramps-- I was actually in labor but just thought I ate something too spicy). We went right to the hospital, and things happened so fast that the epidural couldn't keep up with the pain. I went from 4 cm dilated to fully dilated in less than an hour (it's usually an hour per cm). They didn't know what to make of it.

The cord was wrapped around his neck twice so even though I pushed super hard he would NOT come out. And every time that I did push, his blood pressure would drop because he was being strangled by the cord. ;-( So it was very tricky for the doctor and pretty dangerous. They had to use a vacuum to get him out and I had to get an episiotomy also. But, no long term effects I am told. My vagina looks like it's been through war. I am scared to look down there, frankly. He's fine but a little traumatized I'm sure.

We are well, but I've had no sleep for the past few days. I posted photos of him-- every moment is worth it. And we had ANOTHER heat wave the first week he was here, so it's been a little uncomfortable. What has it been like for you?

Hey- thanks for the words of wisdom about the first time. Yeah, I am totally freaked out about labor, but am trying to keep exercising so that I am strong enough to get this baby out! BTW, your kids are so cute. You must have started having them young-- you are only 25 and you habe 3 already?!?! How's Sacto? It's insanely hot here on the San Francisco Peninsula, are you having the same heat wave up there?
