Wednesday, 18 June I just read your post about breastfeeding...I know its hard! I am breastfeeding as well, and I would like to recomend you getting lanolin...there is nothing like it and it works miracles...You said your nipples are dry and cracked and this stuff will help with that and breast feeding will get easier..you just have to stick it out and try everything that you can...I have been successfully breastfeeding for almost two weeks and have had no problem with sore nipples thanks the the lanisoh lanolin. Here is a link...You can get it pretty much any where...I got mine at walmart...its in the baby section with the bottles, breast pads and what not...I wish you the best of luck and hope that it gets easier for you. Dont give up!

Wednesday, 18 June Hey! I'm glad to hear you are doing well. I had issues with milk supply as well. Michael was in the NICU, but I was pumping every 2-3 hours. After working on that all day, I got about 4 oz! my doctor prescribed Reglan. Within a week I was getting about 8-9 oz a day. So the Reglan helped, but I still did not make enough even for a preemie. I also ate a lot of oatmeal which people say helps increase supply. Anyway, when Michael came home, he had no interest in the breast. I decided it was way too much work since I was not making enough for him and gave up after 6 weeks. He did get whatever I could produce for 6 weeks, and now is all formula. I know it sucks to have these problems, but when I looked at all the really sick babies in the NICU i figured formula instead of breastmilk is not really a problem! mplsmama -
Wednesday, 18 June Congrats on the birth of your little boy! He's beautiful!
I saw your comment about bf'ing... sorry you're having so much trouble. Do you have access to lactation consultants at the hospital you gave birth at? We have been back to see them 2 times already and they've been very helpful. I also agree that a nipple shield might be helpful to help w/ latching. I've been using one for over a week now & it's been very helpful. I'm not sure what to tell you about your milk not coming in. Did your dr have anything to say about that? I hope it gets better for you soon. It sounds like a really frustrating situation. Hang in there! Rachel918 -
Wednesday, 18 June Hello,
for the time being to see if your milk comes in try a nipple shield, i use i because my keft nipple is inverted and she cant suck with outthe shield, so i use it on the other side as well. it works wonders. do you have anything coming out or nothing yet?i know it sucks and pumping is not fun, but one day while pumping realized wow i actualy have milk coming out even though it was a small amount, now its wonderful and my 9 day old daughter is a pig. keep at it dont give up. are you finger feeding with the supplement ir bottle feeding? nmck -

Tuesday, 3 June Hi, I get those "breathing movements" also. I think that my baby gets cramped and frustrated. It almost looks like she's pouting. lol your fine! Good luck with your pregnancy Amy82 -
Sunday, 1 June I'm with you, I am completly over this pregnancy and everyone asking me if I have gone yet. I'm sick of the sleepless nights and the tired days, the aches and pains and feeling like i can't breath. Bahhumbug to everyone that can have a relaxing bourbon of a friday night...Gee that feels good to say that! Hopefully our angels won't keep us waiting too much longer. mplsmama -
Sunday, 25 May Thanks for your comments... I totally agree w/ your midwife, no matter how s/he makes it into the world, once they're here, they're here to stay! :} I just want the baby to arrive safely, that's all I care about.
Oh that's too funny that yours if laying in the womb the same way that dad lays too... I think it really helped my husband feel a bond to feel like s/he had some of his traits. juliedue2008 -

Wow that is a lot of outfits! mplsmama -
Saturday, 24 May Hi there, well I'm glad you have some family around! I agree, it's good that you at least have some support... though I know it's disappointing to not have your husband there.
Had my appt w/ my dr today. I'll probably be scheduling a c-section. :( She said she thinks I have gestational diabetes, even though I passed my test! Isn't that weird? She thinks I developed it later in pregnancy. She said that my baby's measurements are measuring the same as a woman who has GD. Oh well, at least I found out ahead of time. She said that since the baby's belly is so big, there's an increased risk of it also having big shoulders, which is apparently not something they can measure w/ complete accuracy... but if I went into labor in the next week, it'd probably be fine, but if my baby stays in for longer than that, there's a risk s/he will get stuck coming out. I totally trust my dr so I will likely call her next week to schedule it. It'll probably be on 6/6. We kept the gender a surprise, so I'm kind of glad for that, since the birthdate may not be a surprise!
It's funny though b/c we are pretty sure we're having a boy too... we definitely think s/he has my nose, but otherwise looks like my hubby. Oh, at my u/s yesterday, the baby was laying there w/ one hand behind its little head, and my hubby lays like that in bed! It was sooo funny!
I kind of don't even feel ready to give birth yet, but my ribs hurt so darn much I'm almost afraid to keep growing! I cannot tell you how many people have asked me if I'm having twins lately. I'm on the petite side, well when I'm not pregnant!, and I swear some days I feel like my ribs are going to crack! mplsmama -
Friday, 23 May Oh dear, just saw your post about your husband not being able to be there for 3 mos -- I'm so sorry to hear that! That's really too bad. Do you have other family / friends nearby to help you out? I sure hope so!
I had my u/s today & found out my baby is already 8.3 lbs -- yikes! S/he gained almost 2 lbs in 3 wks... if s/he gains another 2 lbs over the next 3 wks, that puts theweight at over 1O lbs! I'll see my dr tomorrow to find out what the scoop is... it's mainly the little belly that's so big... most things are measuring at 38 wks, but the belly is measuring at 41 wks! I'll have to ask my dr what the scoop is tomorrow.... wish me luck! :} mplsmama -
Wednesday, 21 May Hey there, glad to hear things look good w/ the baby. Sorry to hear about the BP though! That's a bummer. YOu know, I've actually had the opposite problem... mine has been on the too-low side at the beginning of my pregnancy. But it actually has been a little high the last few times I've gone in... not too high, but high enough that it's made me pay attention. I don't know what in the heck causes that. Glad to hear they'll monitor you though... can't take any chances! I hope you get to feeling better too.
It's funny b/c part of me wants to have this baby soon, and another part of me is absolutely not ready for this! I'm reading all of these posts of women who are having signs of labor, and I don't have a single one! I really don't mind though. When I ended up in maternal assessment over the weekend, I was thinking I'm really not ready for this yet! It's a little overwhelming to think about sometimes, don't you think? mommy2hicks -
Tuesday, 20 May Thank you for your response, I just really didnt know if it was ok. Have fun at your Shower this weekend! Good luck with your little one on the way! mplsmama -
Tuesday, 20 May Hi there, yeah I totally hear ya about wanting to be in denial about some of this stuff! If they had any concerns about the size of the baby I'm sure they would've discussed them w/ you. That's great that he's in the head-down position.
I am getting my u/s on Thursday & I'm just counting down... I feel so in-limbo right now... I just want to know what they're going to say about what's going on w/ my little one!
I'm definitely tired at the end of the day... as we speak I'm sitting on my couch w/ me feet up to try & get the swelling down! Oh well. All for a good cause, right? :} I'm definitely getting anxious for the arrival of my little one! jalday -
Monday, 19 May Yep, I can feel my lil girl "breathing" too. At first I had to hold my breath for a second to make sure it wasn't me. And sure enough, it continued.... Pretty cool. I'd never heard of it before:D
