Saturday, 3 May Hey there, yeah, they estimated I'm measuring at about 35 wks, 4 days [when according to my due date, I would've been 33 wks, 6 days]. I measured a week ahead at my 2O wk u/s too, and I've always thought my date was a week off. And they estimated the weight to be about 6.5 lbs. I don't know what the length is, I forgot to ask.
I totally hear ya about wanting to be in the dark about it! I hope you'll feel comforted after talking to your dr... my dr really explained things in a way that made sense to me. They basically may not even know until the day-of whether or not I'll give birth vaginally or by c-section, but they'll just have to see how things go. I'll get another u/s at 37 wks and they'll re-evaluate at that point. If I went into labor early, there's a better chance I'd give birth vaginally. If I went full-term, it's more likely that I'll need the c-section. We'll see! When's your appt? Keep me posted!
Preparations are going well for me... nursery is almost done. We have another shower on 5/17 so I'm holding off on buying everything to see what I get at that shower. How about for you? nmck -
Saturday, 3 May Michael and I are doing really well. I don't really feel too much like a mom yet. It is hard to believe he is mine. I feel like I go visit somebody's adorable baby for a few hours everyday! I think it will be much more real when he comes home and is really all ours. I hope Wayne gets his VISA quickly so he doesn't miss too much of the baby's firsts. I'm sure he is really disappointed! nmck -
Friday, 2 May Aaagh! Even I am frustrated at how long your hub's visa is taking!! I hope you are doing well otherwise, and will cross my fingers that you don't go nuts over everything! Gypsymama -
Friday, 2 May You should tell the tupperware lady that you had no idea the company made baby products these days. Or perhaps you could craft a nifty bassinet out of a large serving piece. I'm sure the options are endless! I'm sorry. It is so insane that it's funny, but not really. Make sure to include in your thank you notes how much the baby will enjoy the tupperware!

Friday, 2 May Sorry to hear abour your 'tuppershower' but I guess I had to laugh too...dear me. Keep your good sense of humour going! Hang in there.... tls080 -
Friday, 2 May So they are suppose to give the tupperware lady money for you to get tupperware. How is that remotely a shower. I'm sorry that, that will be your baby shower experience. Gypsymama -
Friday, 2 May OMG! I just read your post about your shower. That is so unbelievable I gasped. My husband asked what was wrong and when I told him the story he couldn't believe it either. He said, "wait, they are combining a plastic container party with a baby shower? That is f**ked up!" mplsmama -
Friday, 2 May Hi, I just thought I'd update you & let you know that I had my u/s today... it was so fun to see his/her little face on the screen! The tech even gave us a few 4D shots which were awesome. The hard part is that it was confirmed that I am definitely having a very large baby. They estimate s/he's already about 6 1/2 lbs!!! Yikes! So, I will likely need a c-section. They said s/he has a really big belly, which I KNEW by even looking at my 2O wk u/s pics! My husband's family tends to be kind of short & "stocky," so I'm thinking this one is taking after dad. I was really scared about the idea of having a c-section, but then my dr started talking about the risks of vaginal birth w/ this large of a child, and I've decided I"m completely at peace w/ the idea of a c-section now. I'll do anything to make sure s/he makes it into this world safe! Anyway, did you ever find out what the measurements were from your u/s? Hope all is well... knockoutmom -
Thursday, 1 May ive said the same thing. i cannot understand how im going to get through a c section. i dont do the numb thing well. i hate being numb at the dentists office and thats just a little part of my mouth! ugh! im afraid of natural birth also, but definitely not as much as c sections! lets hope in two weeks our little ones smarten up!! Tuesday, 29 April You probably just have a good sized baby. I was measuring 36 weeks at my 32 week checkup, and was told that either the baby's just big, or they were a month off on my original due date. If your doctor thinks the baby is too big, a lot of times they'll offer you an induction at about 37 weeks. I wouldn't worry about it though. It's definately better than having a baby that's too small for it's age. :-) mplsmama -
Tuesday, 29 April Hi there, I noticed your post on wk 33. I may be in kind of the same boat as you... at my last appt, my fundal height was measing at 37 wks, rather than at 32 wks. My dr didn't seem overly concerned, but referred me to get another u/s on Thursday. She said I could be carrying extra fluid, or else I am carrying a very large baby. She predicted the baby will be at least 8 lbs. I can handle 8 lbs, but anything more than that scares the crap out of me. I'm not even 5'3", and my husband is not that tall, so I have no idea why my baby is so big [or at least potentially so big].
I would be really frustrated, though, that the tech was measuring things & not telling you what they're measuring! That seems odd. If nothing else, it just makes your worry, even if it's nothing to worry about! I hope your dr tells you what the scoop is soon. I'm very nervous about possibly having a big baby too... I'll let you know if my dr says anything interesting after my appt on Thurs! preciousangels2 -
Saturday, 26 April Scary! I didn't fall on my tummy so I haven't bothered to call the doctor. He's still moving around plenty in there. I'm just totally sore. If I notice and cramping or what not, I'll call but as for now, I'm not too worried. What do you think? cali.momma -

Sunday, 13 April I love the name Elijah! I wouldn't worry about it! I don't know that I would have picked up on that if you hadn't pointed it out! And Elijah is a great name that you don't hear too often! Stick with it sister! mplsmama -
Thursday, 10 April Oh funny! I don't know that mine has mastered the rib-kicking & headbutting the bladder thing yet, and I kind of hope s/he doesn't! ;-] I definitely feel pressure on my bladder though. Just tonight, I tried to go for a walk & almost instantly felt like I had to go to the bathroom, even though I had just gone before I left. Annoying!
