My perfect little miracle arrived unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6th, 2007. I brought Ally Cathrin-Ann into this world and could not be prouder. It all started out Wednesday, December 5th when I went in to my 1:30 p.m. OB checkup. Things were not looking so well when I woke up that morning. During this pregnancy, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and anemia but I also have chronic high blood pressure. For my gestational diabetes, I have to poke my finger four times a day to check my blood sugar levels to make sure they are in a safe range. I also have to urinate on a ketone stick with every morning first pee. This morning I woke up with my ketone stick results to be rather high. Usually my limits have been between a trace to a small amount, but this time it was in the moderate catergory. I was going to make sure I had mentioned something to my OB dr but other than that my blood levels were great (80-100). My gestational anemia has also caused me to be rather tired. I know all of us could sleep all day but literally I did. I was suppose to take an iron pill twice a day everyday but I didnt. My iron pills effected the absorbtion of my blood pressure pills which last OB appt my dr had change my dosage from one pill three times a day to two pills twice a day. I only took my iron pills a couple times a week and let me tell you along comes constipation but that is another story. I had to tell you this mumble jumble because for these reasons I had to be induced. I was at my appt and the nurse took my blood pressure and it read 190/120. I was so scared; those readings readings are stroke high. As I am sitting there waiting for the dr to come in, I could feel like my blood pressure was getting higher and higher. I didnt know what was going to happen but I was telling the dr that baby had to come out today. Sure enough, he walked into the room and he said that he was not happy. I told him that he was the professional but I think it was time for her to come out. He said I was right so after hearing her heart beat he sent me over to the hospital which is in the same building, to be induced. Oh my goodness, today was the day!! I wasnt excited but I was nervous. It was so weird. The previous night I had to do all these things just in case; like getting all the christmas cards done, shaving our lady regions, and having that last intimate occasion with my husband. That morning I packed a bag for my daughter for the babysitters and actually ran it over to her before my appt. Weird, I know. I get into the room and there was so much paperwork and monitering. They even had to bring the u/s cart out to make sure she was head down because I was only a fingertip dilated. Well, they decided to start me on cervidal. They shove this into the cervix to make it soft and ready for birth. They make you lay there for an hour so it doesnt fall out. After that time, you can sit up. Finally around 6pm I had asked the OB dr that was there if I could eat. She said I could considering it would be a long night and I only had a sandwich that morning. After I ate, they put another cervidal into me. I wasnt dilated anymore so I could tell it would be a long night. I did start to feel contractions so I was getting excited. They were reaching up to the 20's which are mild contractions but it was a start. My husband, mom, and sister were all there with me through that whole night. Finally about 2 a.m. the nurses decided that it was time to start me on an IV. Big mistake. My veins hide and I am a terrible draw. Believe it or not from 2am to 7am I was poked 13 times from my arms to my legs so they could get that IV started. Every vein popped and I was retaining all that IV fluid in my muscles so I was like a marshmellow. They had two OB nurses try, the ER nurse try, and two anenostesologist try. They had to pull the vein u/s machine out. After all that they finally were able to get me hooked up. They god because my contractions got pretty bad. I had asked for an epidural right away. Earlier, they did give me a shot of demerol in the butt but that made me sleepy but I felt everything. They also did give me a third round of cervidal. Two hours later I was 2+ dilated and really getting excited. After another 2 hours (which was afternoon sometime) I was still at a 2+ but my OB dr decided it was time to break my water. I never felt like I had that much water inside of me. It was clear and warm. He also decided to start me on petocin since I was having contractions but they were not strong enough to get labor to progress. Once they started that petocin, I was at a 5. Then after a half an hour later, I was fully dilated. You know when you are complete when you feel like you have to have the biggest bowel movement in the world. I just remember telling the nurse that I had to go to the bathroom. Even though I was given an epideral about an hour earlier it was no relief for me. It made my legs so numb. I remember when I was dilated to an 8 they gave me more medicine but let me tell you I wanted to scream. It wasnt like a BABY STORY on tlc when they are all happy and settled. I was doing some breathing and moaning but no screaming or swearing. I did well and so did my daughter. While I was wearing an oxygen mask, I pushed my daughter out in 4 minutes. I had torn but pushing was the easist part. She was given apgar scores of an 8 and then a 10. It was all worth it and everyday it becomes better and better. She is already 3 days old and still learning all about her. I want to love her in every way possible and hold her close.

This is my first daughter, Kylee. Isn't she adorable.

Blah, Blah Blah...does that sum up my day? Not only do I have ants..but Caroline isn't cleaning as she was told, she is talking back, whining and driving me nuts..not to mention I dont think Dylan feels too well. He wants to be hled all day today. He is screaming ( and that isn't my Dylan),,and just not happy at all. I feel for him. My living room is cluttered..I have about 6 different toychests in there right now to get them out of Carolines room so that we can organzie. We couldn't see the floor in her room..it was bad. She is a slob, and since I had surgery last month I havent kept up with the cleaning..now it's getting to me and I want to cry. I am not the neatest person by ANY means, but I hate seeing things that are not where they should be..like my husband leaving his dirty socks on the floor or Caroline not putting away her cereal bowl in the sink when she is done..stuff like that bothers me. I live in a trailer with enough stuff to fill a mansion so no matter how much I clean..it looks cluttered!
YES!! Caroline wants to write to Kylee. She is excited, but I told her she cant until her room is done. So, give us a few days and then give me your address :) Sorry I havent gotten to the baby clothes either..what size did you want?
Today is very warm here..I believe in thre 80's but I am stuck inside. Plus, on hot days I feel worse about myself cause I need to lose weight
