About Marietta

Marietta is the nickname of my late grandmother. She lived a long life and we were glad to have her.

The picture I used is a painting by Mary Cassatt, an American Impressionist. It is called "Young Mother Sewing." You can see that I like to be relatively private about my personal information when communicating over the internet, but the Cassatt piece about sums it up.

I was here in Autumn 2007 and was sad to leave too soon in December. Back again now, and there's no telling how long I'll stick around. Long or short, I'm not anxious this time around. What will be will be, and it'll be alright.

I'm glad to know that someone else has spoken to her kindly already. Bless her heart; she must be beside herself right now with worry. Thanks for letting me know that you were kind to her also.

Happy Sunday, Ladies:

I am so sorry for the delay in writing. I am so busy with new interior design appointments! I hope to be really busy for the holidays.

September and October are some busy times for me! Anyway, I will keep all posted on any changes with me.

I am enjoying the time with my Love as we simply take each day easy.

And yes, I am getting so pumped with this weather! I wish I could express my renewed sense of creativity.

Smiles,

Debora ;-)

Thank-you for your response on my question.

eves - Thursday, 25 September
yes we do share a great bond, even though I just married last year, she still caters to her mom, sometimes more than my husband do. I really hope that changes.

eves - Thursday, 25 September
Thank you for your response. I'm actually pretty confident that my daughter can handle it. She watches The Baby Story and Bringing Home Baby with me when she comes home from school, and asks her question accordingly. She do ask alotta question ans most I do answer honestly, w/o freaking her out, and she has been coming to all my appts. before school started. She is aware that the baby comes out of the vagina, she just cant figure out how the baby fits through. She is already asking can she miss school? will she be there? when will she be able to hold her? etc...I think she'll be fine, but again thats if the hosp. lets her to do.

Yeah, you should write a book! I really mean it! I did read some of your history. You sure have endured a lot. I tip my hat to you!

Actually, the more I think about your comments, the more beautiful I feel, just enjoying the time as uncomfortable as this may be, it's the last time for me; I turn 38 this Friday, and my husband is going to be fixed in December. I lost a little boy 14 years ago( he lived two weeks), treasure the little girl I already have, and look forward to meeting my new daughter. I'm sorry for your loss.

Mariettap, thanks for the encouragement. I was beginning to get worried, not to mention embarassed.

kaybaby - Wednesday, 24 September
hello thanks for writing on my qustion. I see my family dr on the nov 3 but i see my other dr who deliever my son oct 23. Thats the only time they had for me. I gave birth aug 18th. is that to late?

Heatherbugg - Wednesday, 24 September
No there really should'nt be any serious risk involved since there wasn't any stones as of July. Although more stones could be formed due to my gall bladder not functioning properly. The Doctor said in a crisis situation they could safely remove in the second and third trimesters. Although I don't feel comfortable "going under" while I have a baby living in me! I will just have to manage it. When I am "regular" my gall bladder feels better. So I look forward to quitting the Prometrium.

I love ScottyAnne. That is funny. I'll bet you and your husband are "giving them somethin' to talk about"! I did wonder how weird Petunia was for a girl. All I could imagine was a tall skinny girl with glasses that had the most annoying voice. Maybe I saw someone on TV like that with that name. Well have fun!

Heatherbugg - Wednesday, 24 September
Wow. I am so glad this time it's a different story! I have been dealing with my gall bladder. 4 years ago I discovered I had stones after a horrible attack. Since then I have done many, many cleanses and changed my diet etc. But this last summer I decided I had had enough and resigned myself to having it removed. Only to find out 1 week before surgery that I was pregnant! Even though I am very happy I have been in some pretty constant pain. Oh well, I am sure once the nausea lifts it will be a lot more managable.

Considering the absence of the overwhelming nausea are you sure you're not having a boy?

newlifehopes - Tuesday, 23 September
thankyou. goodluck to you too!

i liked your blog, i think i get where you're coming from. this is my first baby so i dont have much experience yet but i 'm enjoying finding out about everything and reading about how strong women can be. In contrast to you, i dont have anybody trying to influence my journey (other than, perhaps my overly worried self) neither family (long story) or friends as i'm the first of them to have a baby. Everyone has their own way of dealing with things and mine is through educating myself.

i suppose i am a little apprehensive of conventional medicine, but in a healthy way i hope. i wouldn't take something without knowing what it is first, or automatically trust someone because of their title. but i'm not irrational about it.

with regards to the birth, this will be my greatest moment , i hope to be very present. i'm looking forward to the oxytocin rush that my baby and i will have and holding her in my arms.

hi, i think i wouldn't mind taking the medical drugs if they were 100% safe for me and my baby. but in the uk anyway they dont exsist. you either get an epidural or get a morphine like drug and both have negative side affects unfortunately. i guess, its like what they said in the film 'the business of being born' in order to feel the bliss you've got to feel the pain. the safest and most effective, it appears, pain relief i've found is through using hypnobirthing. so thats my plan so far. but who knows whats round the corner!

Heatherbugg - Tuesday, 23 September
Why did you lose muscle mass? Is it because you were on bed rest or something?

newlifehopes - Tuesday, 23 September
yes, i'm just at the birth stories too. i totally see how the reading of peoples stories can help you, its so much more rememberable than reading facts etc. i'm started to feel that if you really want a natural birth you have to be behind the idea 100% and really look forward too it with excitment.. i'm getting there!

ourbaby - Tuesday, 23 September
Hey there!

Good to hear from you, thanks I am doing great. I feel really good, I have just been kind of busy w/work doing homework w/my son ect.. I am very lucky things are going good so far. What have you been up to how are things?

My son is really excited about his baby sister, I can't believe it's 10 weeks away, that just gives me enough time to start getting ready for her. We finally decided on our name for her. Alinea Natalie. How about you guys, did you narrow down any names?

If she doesn't come sooner and my body seems ready doc okayed to induce Dec 5th, that's my husbands grandmother's b-day so it would be really nice.

Hope all is well and I will talk to you soon!

Heatherbugg - Tuesday, 23 September
14 lbs., that's really good. I totally understand the pregnant brain thing. Do you think you might have lost any personal weight during your pregnancy?

RR2007 - Monday, 22 September
Thanks so much for the information. That sounds like a great book! I think I really just want to keep the intervention down to a minumum and do what feels right. I'm not sure if this is a good thing but I'm delivering @ a hospital that opens 2 mos before I'm due. Just hope they get all the kinks out before I get there

Well thanks again, I really appriciate it! Congrats on baby #2, hope you have a great labor!

newlifehopes - Monday, 22 September
