About Marietta

Marietta is the nickname of my late grandmother. She lived a long life and we were glad to have her.

The picture I used is a painting by Mary Cassatt, an American Impressionist. It is called "Young Mother Sewing." You can see that I like to be relatively private about my personal information when communicating over the internet, but the Cassatt piece about sums it up.

I was here in Autumn 2007 and was sad to leave too soon in December. Back again now, and there's no telling how long I'll stick around. Long or short, I'm not anxious this time around. What will be will be, and it'll be alright.

These are my blogs (links on the right):

10 weeks, 1 day (May 15, 2008) Good sono today. See blog ...

11weeks and something (May 24, 2008) The cat may be getting out of the bag a bit earlier than I was hoping. See blog ...

Here comes the flood (June 8, 2008) OK, we've shared this with our daughter and we're preparing for the rest of the world to get wind of our news. See blog ...

A visit with Petunia (June 11, 2008) I had a nice ultrasound today at the perinatologist's office. DD is developing a loving relationship with her sibling. See blog...

When can I just freaking relax?? (June 16, 2008) More of the ups and downs that torment me.

Away for a Spell (July 7, 2008) Just a little update before stepping out for a couple of weeks.

Petunia's On Her Way (July 25, 2007) An ultrasound that *wasn't* problem-focused. Yay!

If I squish you...I'm sorry... (August 5, 2008) Big sister sings a special song to her fetus baby sister.

Home Again (August 13, 2008) Returning from another family visit.

Right On Target (August 15, 2008) A good sono. This time I didn't even cry!

A Nice Day Today! (September 8, 2008) Hiking in the second trimester.

Yeah, I am glad they are on it...but it's taking so long! I guess, my body had a lot to get rid of due to the length of time that I carried.

Although, I am still glad of the prospect of trying late August, early September. Starting to chart my ovulation cycles again!

Very scary, but very exciting, too.

Yum, I love Pot Roast. In fact, that is my signature dish. I prepared it for George when we first started dating and he asked for seconds! I felt so loved by him...smiles.

Debora :-)

Hi, Chica:

On spending the money: Indeed I will. Maybe something to wear.

I just spoke to the doctor's office and my count is still too high, so I have to go back in for more testing (or should I say poking). Anyway, be glad when it's all over. She said a low count was below 5!, which means I have a long way to go.

On the positive side, she said my levels are low enough that I can ovulate, so it is possible that I will start my cycle on time or within the period that I was on prior to getting pregnant.

I told her about my husband and I considering the process again and she said at the end of August, 1st of September really is the time to go at it, as any sooner could cause the same problem to occur in the same manner!

So, hopefully, we will be able to contain ourselves since we haven't saw one another in a while and follow all the rules.

Debora

Sounds like it. Somebody got the big head cause he went to school for a few years. I mean in all actuality what did he REALLY do? what COULD he do? you and i have both been through this enough to know, it is what it is. theres not really alot that can be done in early pregnancy beyond progesterone. after that its all God, and I am pretty sure your doctors name wasnt God however disillusioned he might be

heatherc - Thursday, 12 June
my kids got out of school the first week of june and that was running over. usually its the end of may. Chloee just graduated from Kindergarten too! they grow up so fast. Chance is going to be going to 6th grade. talk about feeling old!
ya i have more babyfat still on me from Marcel then i have ever had when i got pregnant before so maybe my belly is hiding under the fat!
do you think you are going to have more if you can after this one/ i know take it one at a time, but i know i am going to get fixed now.. 4 is good. i am pushing my luck if i go for more.. i am so thankful i have this many

debora - Thursday, 12 June
Yeah, I will do that. He may be so exhausted as it is, as his flight has a layover in Washington D.C. for a bit before he gets to Atlanta.

I think I will just spend the extra money on me or something!

Smiles,

Debora

i am the same way i dont mind the week to week post when i have a question i would like alot of opinions about, but like you said i cant hardly keep up with them... and its so general and unpersonal.
i was like u i craved alot of meats and cheese and eggs. not so much anymore. its like every week or everyday it changes for me. i go to the store and all of the sudden things just pop out at me, i have really been wanting alot of fruit lately which is good i suppose.
i think i can tell alot that my belly is getting bigger but it seems to be growing everywhere and i just have it in my head it should only get bigger from bottom to top but right now i have this basketball belly from above my bellybutton down... does that seem right or am i just fat! haha
i dont think he will give me a sonogram cause i had one at last appointment and i know i will have one at next appointment i dont know if i dont have any concerns if he will or not. i mean i do have concerns in my head but i can be kinda mental and freak myself out...
if he hears the heartbeat i think that will be that till next visit. and then i will get to find out what i am having. are you going to find out?
so you have 1 child alive right? a daughter? how old?

heatherc - Thursday, 12 June
Exactly, that does make it nice.
do you go on and check out the week to week forum? i like to see how the baby is looking at what size it is. i cant believe it is almost the size of a softball...
are you growing out of your clothes?
are you craving anything?

navywife0407 - Thursday, 12 June
Yep! he smiles and I love it. He's staying awake so much more now and holding his head up, not for long periods of time though, hes a complete pudge ball. He's crazy about his dad, coo's when his dads talking to him, kills my soul cause he doesnt do that for me.He just studies me while I talk, I am pretty sure hes just trying to figure out "now where does the food come out of this woman, shes always got food, so where does she keep it?" HOPEFULLY you did embarass the DR. Maybe you made enough of an impact that he will take it easy and be gentle with the next high risk pregnant moma, she might not be as bold as you are. In that case I am sure she will be thankful, even if she doesnt know she should be. It took me forever to bond with kanaan, I just knew the moment I did something bad would happen. I was reading back through my pregnancy diary. I was about 12-14 weeks when I finally realized I was going to have him. I am so glad I kept the blog now. It's really neat to go back and remember little things otherwise lost. As far as the testing and intervention, did he say there was something they could do... BESIDES terminate the pregnancy. That was the option my OB gave me "we can test for blah blah and if any of the test are positive we can do more indepth testing, but we need to do this early enough that we can terminate the pregnancy" To which I said "Uh no, I lost 5 on my own, if this ones going to stay on its own I'll be damned if I am going to interfere"
I waited so long it didnt matter to me I just wanted him. I have a very good friend going through something similar. She went to see her OB before trying to get pregnant for the all clear. He said to her, "youre 38 I dont think its a good idea you getting pregnant again this late in life, I can tie your tubes next tuesday" Who does he think he is? Her name is Susan, shes an RN, pediatric RN at that. Her husband is an MD, family medicine. She's well aware of the risks (which are minimal). She went home her hubby wrote her a script for vitamins folic acid and iron, shes going to take those and then try. She does horse rescue with my mother, an absolute wonderful person, and a great mother. I just dont understand where these dr's get off.

TraceyJns486 - Thursday, 12 June
Wow. It maybe different for each individual. When I had my girls. I was fine. It may just be my body.

heatherc - Thursday, 12 June
i dont now if its something I am Pregnant just started doing or not, i noticed i have started getting them too

debora - Thursday, 12 June
I just laughed out loud. I will see how my husband reacts to the weight thing. My Big love is so picky. His ETA is July 11th in the afternoon....so hopefully, all is well and I can finally relax at that point. I am planning a big dinner for him, whether at home or out I am not sure at this point.

Smiles,

Debora :-)

debora - Thursday, 12 June
Oh, that is just too cute on your daughter's reaction.

Smiles,

Debora ;-)

navywife0407 - Thursday, 12 June
Kanaans so big, hard to believe hes 5 weeks. Petunia eh? Very cute that shes named the baby. If it's a girl are you going to let the name stick? Could always be worse she could have named the baby spot or rex! Thank God for small favors, u might want to tell the high risk dr," yea yea i realize im not 14 and pregnant so lets move on from that and talk about something that IS within our control" That dr was a man wasnt it. I am starting to think that it would be a good idea just to punch all men (as soon as they become someones husband and therefore a real "problem") in the throat thus rendering them unable to speak. Can you imagine how beautiful the world would become

navywife0407 - Thursday, 12 June
LOL I am sure if I were to ask your DH which it was he would go with the large johnson theory, then probably say something about genetics lol
Men, its a good thing we need them to make babies!

Oh, thanks on the head shot comments. Although with BABY I put on an extra 15 or so pounds, so I am more frumpy than tall and slender like I was. I am still debating the issue, so not too sure here, yet.

I think he will be fine. I will just have to prepare him before he comes.

I would hope to lose the weight before he comes, but we will see. This is not my primary concern, as I hope to be pregnant in a few months. The only problem would my husband trying to lift me in friskier times....smiles...I am looking into a weight management clinic...just not pushing it.

Well, I guess the good things is that the U/S will keep you in tune with your baby, as you can always see him/her as often as they do this. I am glad that you are getting the care anyway. So, it does have a positive, despite how they can make us feel with the medical mumbo jumbo...

Smiles,

Debora :-)

I'm so excited for it!!! The one I had a few weeks ago looked like real baby. My hubby didn't get to see it, though. He and my daughter are going with me on Sat.!!! A family outing of huge proportions!!! No, I'm doing this one out of pocket (ouch!), but it should be worth it. They told me it'll be close enough to 15 weeks to maybe find out what we're having! I'm so excited!!!!

heatherc - Wednesday, 11 June
Awe that is so great. i am so happy for you that you go to see your little sweetie and know that he/she is doing well.
i got a sonogram at 9 weeks when i first went and my little one waved to me as well. i believe i felt my first movement today.. so that made me feel so much better. kinda like mommy i am okay in here.
Did you get pictures to bring home? Do you think you will get many more Sonograms? i think i will probably every other visit... i am glad all was well. how was the heartbeat?

debora - Wednesday, 11 June
Hi there, Chica:

Oh, I just went to the dentist and to see the podiatrist...getting all the uncool stuff out of the way. Debating on my hair. Really want to go super short with my hair and some color, but I need to hurry as my husband would not approve when he's here!

Glad to know your U/S was great. That is exciting. Did you happen to get the sex? Or, do you even want to know.

Yeah, like me, don't worry too much about the "high risk" mumbo jumbo...as what can you do, but worry yourself sick?
They get on my nerves with this nonsense and in history women have been delivering babies until menopause with no problems!

Anyway, glad to know you get to stay with the midwife. They rock!

Smiles,

Debora :-)

debora - Tuesday, 10 June
Hi, Chica:

Oh, don't remind me on being tired. Playing catch is not fun. I have had late mornings getting projects finished that draining me and taking to long to get approved! I need business!...smiles.

I just know your daughter is too thrilled on the baby news. I am glad to know you are finally calming down on the idea, too, which is great.

Glad to know your tummy is better. I know like you do that you simply can't be too careful on these matters.\

You know, my river stopped all together. I am checking now to see if I am back on my regular schedule this Thursday. I charted it from March (my last) so I will see if my I am really in tune with my body.

Indeed, these bodies of ours are tricky, but I am about to sike mine out. Going to two appointments of the round of treats for myself starting tomorrow. So, we will see how this goes.

Was suppose to start yesterday...but scheduling conflicts and a blow out on the expressway today...you know the HERO truck, wrecker...the whole package...over a flat tire. All is well now. The mere ordeal cost me the tow charge for less than one 1 mile, plus the cost of the tire...but business is business...

How's your day today going?

Smiles,

Debora ;-)

laddgirl - Tuesday, 10 June
How's it going. I just read you blog....Emotions still running all over the place? I can't express how excited I am for you. I'm even talking to hunny about starting sooner. Like you we will keep all a secret. Well...except for you ladies. Have you been looking at baby stuff at the stores yet. You must have many thoughts running through your mind, I know I would. Well let me not go on and on here. I'll hit you up through email. Take it easy talk at ya soon. Deb

nannersmama - Tuesday, 10 June
lol. That's hilarious. When I was adjusting to carrying 50 things out to the car, we were still overseas, and we never locked our doors, so thankfully I never locked myself in or out! lol
I just scheduled my 4d ultrasound!!!! yay! Saturday at 4:15, and there's a pretty good chance we'll find out what this jelly bean is! I'm really excited
